Basically it all comes down to this:

“The brand’s collapse isn’t Pat,” [Millie] Kendall said. “She’s a genius, she’s developed incredibly successful brands for Procter & Gamble and elsewhere: her creativity does translate to sales. The problem is that the money was coming from elsewhere: you get squeezed out by those holding the purse strings. Being backed by people who want to sell your brand, it’s hard to manage the quality. Financiers often clash with innovation and creativity.

“Obviously the challenging economic times, tariffs and Brexit were difficult to navigate, too. But the pulled auction, then Chapter 11, reeks of a backer who didn’t want to put more money in.”

The Pat McGrath Labs valuation of $1 billion was based on x 17 sales projections - not earnings and profits, which was a mistake. When the backers weren't getting the expected returns it all went to the wall.

So if your favourite brands are bought out it might be best to stock up when you can - obviously not this month though 😉

I haven’t ordered a second FtF box yet but did get another bottle of Decree from Vinted. It was listed for £20 so I added it to my favourites and then she offered me it for £18 so I pressed ‘buy’
I also bought a Reiss leather jacket that I didn’t really need. It was only £25 though so that’s a bargain! 😆 Plus, both were bought with my Vinted balance so I feel justified!

I have bought more than I should this month. Started off with the 2 Clarins products I bought to get the free Showstopper set. I haven’t done well also bought several items of clothing in the Zara 80% off sale, 2 pairs of boots in Fat Face because they had reduced all boots to £20. Then yesterday we bought a half price dining table on the Fenwick sale. 😳
January has been a stressful month though so I needed cheering up. I do plan for a ‘spending less on February’ month now!

@IlovePond i take B12 as I don’t eat red meat. Biotin and collagen - no idea if it helps my hair but my nails are good. I also do a fizzy multi vitamin and pumpkin seed capsule.
I changed my diet, decreased carbs and increased protein and feeling ok for 50+ (just!!).

@MrsBnow12 I might be returning 2 of the d&g palettes, they've got to arrive first. I rebought them to get the mystery bag 🤣 can't resist a freebie!

Thanks @BlueLimes I take b12, but am a bit worried about biotin and maybe collagen. Which tablets do you recommend? I was having a look on the Boots site today, but it’s a minefield!

@keepincool im not big into eye shadow but those are so lovely. I think if your warm toned keep the wee gold one and if cool toned keep the square one x

Thank you @Twinsandsome . I've decided to go with the larger palette as I'll use more of the colours, although I am warmer toned. The D&G palette is gorgeous, but I would probably use only half af the colours. The lovely Mrs B has kindly taken it off my hands 😊

@keepincool thats interesting re the skin rocks app. I paid for last year but then cancelled it. May need to join again. Im using a mini ab eye that a good friend kindly gave me to try before I open the big one in liberty advent. Tbh im on the fence as seem to get a little white spot on the skin inbetween my eyes after I've used it. Possibly too rich. Im nervous of selling that on vinred so if I sell may sell on FB page at fp.
@OvaHere im going trafford on Thurs with my daughter. Cant wait. Not been for ages. Want to sell scents from fragrance advents. Also ned to go into mcr city centre for hn fragrance calendar scents. Also have £60 gift card that i cant use online. Dont go into mcr often.

5 k beauty items (Boots sale)
5 k beauty and Lumene items (M&S sale)
Tatcha gift set, lip mask and dewy cream (absolute bargains from Vinted)
2 FtF mystery bundles
2 Seasalt winter coats (ebay and Vinted)

Love a bargain, so happy I've got them all less than the full price! 😁

We aren't all fessing up but im feeling a bit of pressure now 🤣🤣

On the plus side I didnt buy any roka lucky dips, but did have them in my basket for a while.
I never buy clothes but did buy 2 pairs of jeans off tiktok as a lot of my clothes are not fitting me. They must have shrunk. 😄 My daughter had ordered some so tried hers on and they fit i struggle as 5 foot nothing.
Im now tempted to look on the seasalt page and fatface for bargains 🤪

@Doglover73 - I like the Skin Rocks app - the only drawback is that you can only list up to 100 products that you own - and I have way more than that 😕. I've deleted the products I know don't suit my skincare needs, and also the regular products which I know are okay.

I do find the suitability ratings useful. The articles are good too. I think I've definitely had my £24.99 subscriptions worth as I've changed my routine based on the app's recommendations and have seen an improvement in my skin. They are also including more K-beauty products now, which is useful for me.
