@BlueLimes - I have contemplated supplements but I am always worried about taking too much - I know that can be an issue with vitamins, for example- so I am always extra-cautious. Which ones do you use?

Thanks

QueefofSheena · 31/01/2026 22:53

I’ve been really good with the no-buy on beauty and perfume. The only thing I’ve bought is a Dermatalogica fizzing cleanser but that was mainly for DS. I have however absolutely caned Vinted as I booked our holiday and bought all the beach cover ups and bright chiffony things that I’d never wear in real life

keepincool · 31/01/2026 22:54

I've also snuck in another FtF mystery bundle, before my low buy February starts. I am a 🐑

OvaHere · 31/01/2026 23:11

Current product recommendation because this will take a while to make it into the empties thread. I've used it this evening which reminded me I've been meaning to mention it.

Please DO NOT all rush out and ruin low buy Feb because it's probably not going anywhere and will still be available next time you're in need of such a product!!! 😂😂😂Just wanted to give some thoughts on it.

Beauty of Joseon Ground Rice and Honey Glow Mask

I've been using this for a while, only once a week or less. It's a really fab exfoliating mask that brightens up dull skin. I am a bit pinky after using it but by the next day I have a lovely glow.

It is a bit messy and I wish the opening on the jar was more accessible but apart from that it's a really great product. I feel like it has a similar effect to the DDG peel pads but minus the actives.

I do a first cleanse, put the mask on for around 20 mins then wipe off, second cleanse and the rest of my eve routine. I avoid using actives straight after using it as I have a bit more sensitivity. My usual serums etc. are fine, I just skip things like retinal.

Just seen this new product linked on beauty detective. I've been waiting for something like this. I love eye patches and have always wondered why we can't get whole eye ones. Now we can!

This is going to test my no shopping on K beauty sites resolve.

Thanks @namechange0998776554799000 - I will watch it tomorrow x

Oops, I may have gone back and repurchased from FTF. Completely forgetting that as it’s 1st February I’m supposed to be getting stuck into my BACs that I postponed from December 🙈

It’s my birthday month now so I’m not even going to pretend there will be a no spend in place! Particularly considering that I didn’t even manage it in January 😅…

I’ve purchased the FTF edits,
D&G eyeshadow palette,
CB stockings (though these are mainly for Xmas presents, bar a couple of the fragrances I’ve pinched),
Hourglass make up brush,
KS goat milk cleanser repurchase,
Medik8 C-tetra & Medik8 B5 intense repurchase (still debating whether to get the advanced peptides whilst on offer),
Versace crystal noir set

Jacket from Vinted which I got cheap, only purchased for the belt as mine got damaged and I love the jacket, but it’s in excellent condition so I now have 2 the same 😅

From Next sale:
Boden velvet dress
Victoria Secret Christmas PJs
Boden T-shirt
Some tartan PJs for my dog 🐶 for Christmas as they match mine from last Christmas 😅

From JL sale:
2 pairs of boots (1 will be returned)
pair of Mary Jane shoes
Crew Clothing satin dress
Mint Velvet T-shirt
Adrianna Pappel top
2 After Party Christmas beauty crackers

Rug for living room
Harrods cheeseboard

Having written it down, I’m actually a bit embarrassed, but at least it’s not all beauty 😅
I'm still swooning over a new Mulberry handbag, but maybe now all of that is written down I’ll be a bit more controlled

Thelifeofawife · 01/02/2026 01:01

Wow, sorry that was a really long post 🙈

JoRaRaRa · 01/02/2026 08:14

@Thelifeofawife Some tartan PJs for my dog 🐶

Oh so cute! We need proof! My little pooch has Christmas tartan pj's too 😍 Evidence attached!

I felt embarrassed too when writing my list, we're in this together 💪 Maybe we should list throughout the month so it's not a shock at the end 🤣

I think your 1am purchase can still count as Jan. I finished off last night by ordering some pink jeans from tu at sainsbury's. I've been wanting pink jeans for a while but I don't know if I'll wear them so I didn't want to pay a lot. I also bought another ysl blush in babydoll pink 🩷 It was in the sale and I also had the voucher from them for my birthday 🥰 So even though I didn't go anywhere yesterday, I still managed to spend a fortune 🙈🤣

OH @JoRaRaRa - PoochRaRa is adorable 😍

Cyclingmummy1 · 01/02/2026 08:32

Morning ladies! You've brightened my day with your stories of big spends. I've bought nothing in January.

We're going to York for a couple of days at half term and there are a couple of shops I want to visit.

IlovePond · 01/02/2026 08:35

So cute @JoRaRaRa ❤️

Just watched the Kerastase info @namechange0998776554799000 I put the serum into slightly damp hair last night and it doesn’t seem greasy today. I am going to use it regularly until it runs out and massage it in properly.

Thanks

JoRaRaRa · 01/02/2026 08:43

@Cyclingmummy1 Nothing in January?! 😱 With all those sales flying around?! You are clearly an angel of resistance 😇 The rest of us went down like a pack of dominoes the minute the Elemis ac was discounted! 🤣 Enjoy York, my home town, such a beautiful place 😍

TreesinthePark · 01/02/2026 08:54

I didn't bother pretending to myself that I'd do a no-buy January!

I made good use of the 40% off CB code and also the SpaceNK sale. The sales feel like they're made for me as someone with dark skin as its usually the darker shades discounted. From SpaceNk I've bought a Nars Laguna palette, Kevin Aucoin concealer, Tom Ford foundation, Kosas foundation and Rare Beauty foundation.
Also made use of that £10 off Sephora code!

I'm currently deliberating over the John Lewis Signature Scent Box. I wish I knew what the Fenty perfume smells like as that would be the decider. I just checked and I have to Jo Loves perfume already plus the V&R one too. I'm itching for a perfume edit and I never have to ponder them like this so I need to be patient and wait for one from Liberty or Spacenk etc....(unless JL gets discounted 😉)

namechange0998776554799000 · 01/02/2026 09:01

If anyone ever sees the new Elemis cleansing mousse on offer/on sale somewhere that does offers please tell me. My current cleanser is going to run out soon and I really want to buy it (tried a sample in store and it's lovely) but I refuse to buy anything full price any more!

The only place I can find it for sale other than Elemis (where it's excluded from any promotions) is John Lewis, so I'm hoping at some points they'll give me a 20% off beauty offer.

keepincool · 01/02/2026 09:06

Day 1 in the KC low- buy house and I'm doing well so far 🤞

I used the Skin Rocks app yesterday to see if the zillions of products I have are suited to my skin. It turns out that Dermalogica products are generally not suitable for me. The AB eye cream is also a no-no as it's too rich for my mature skin (I'm part way through one jar so not sure whether to switch or keep going?)

One of my Trinny moisturisers is also out, as is my beloved Clinique moisture surge, which I've just stocked up on 😪. I love how the MS feels on my skin, but I have to weigh up whether it's actually making a difference to my skin or just feels nice. Also out are the various Nip + Fab glycolic products I've purchased on £10 Tuesday deals.

So the upshot of that little story is that I made £133 on Vinted yesterday having listed said products, although the AB eye cream and Lancome bi-facils are still being reviewed, which is a bit annoying.

From now on I'm going to try and check that the products I'm getting FOMO over are actually recommended for my skin type before hitting the 'buy now' button. Thankfully the Decree serum scores 100%, so the 2 I've purchased are safe 😁

OvaHere · 01/02/2026 09:12

I'm going to Trafford later with a friend who needs a posh dress for an event so wish me luck...😂

I am usually better at self restraint in person than online but I can't guarantee I won't come back with a mini haul.

I've not heard of this mousse before but now I want it! QVC usually do an Elemis TSV in February so thats one to look out for.

Oops, sorry 😆

MotherofTerriers · 01/02/2026 09:21

Frasers have a very heavily discounted Gucci eyeshadow palette, down to £44

JoRaRaRa · 01/02/2026 09:51

@keepincool I've not heard of that app before, I'm going to put my products in and see what it says 😊

@OvaHere good luck 🤑

@TreesinthePark i think this was my attitude by the end of Jan, I was just like f**k it, spend spend spend 🤣 My only regret is not buying more with the 40% CB code.

Thelifeofawife · 01/02/2026 09:52

@JoRaRaRa Here you go…my quick ‘try on’ photo from when I received the parcel. I think her look says it all 😅

I started my extra FTF purchase before midnight, so it definitely counts as January despite me not completing the transaction until afterwards 😁

I had a lovely pair of pink jeans from M&S years ago. I’d quite like another pair so I may have a look in Sainsbury’s if I can get to one soon.

My January spends were:

Clothing
Trousers and tee from Uniqlo (these are staple bits and will be worn to death)
Nike trainers off Vinted and paid for with my Vinted balance 😇
Knickers from Lounge (again id argue this is an essential 🤣)

Beauty
The Style Korean new year lucky box - had bits I needed and was fab value and my treat of the month. My drawers are overflowing and I’m fully stocked so I REALLY need to remember this when temptation strikes.

Hair
Some hair essentials from Boots - serum, hair oil, shampoo, conditioner etc (trying to follow the Abbey Yung method at mo)

Near Misses
I did succumb and order the Roka mystery bag, but returned it for a refund.
There has also been many, many, many things to have been put in baskets online that I’ve dithered over, but ultimately resisted (so far 😆).
