What are you wearing at Christmas?

Apologies if there’s already a thread this year, I couldn’t find it.

I’m in team dressing up on Christmas Day.

I’ve worn the same dress for the past six years at least but this year I got a hankering for some velvet trousers so have ordered some on vinted. If they arrive in time and fit well I will be wearing those, if not probably the old faithful dress. We actually have plans on NYE this year too so the trousers will get another outing as long as I like them when they arrive!

A ridiculous, novelty, sparkly top with sparkly trousers, a tinsel boa and a ridiculous headband (maybe snowflakes this year). I'm very classy.

I’ll be in comfortable house clothes along with the rest of my family and all the guests that will join us for the day! We are very much in team not dressing up for Christmas, it’s a busy day with a lot of scope for mess and spillage, I’m not wasting nice clothes on that!

I’m team cosy/comfy, but also make it cute - we’re hosting this year but DP is the main chef so I don’t need to worry about being hot etc.

I’ll either be in dark indigo Cos barrel leg jeans with a cherry red cardigan from &OtherStories, or leopard print Damson Madder wide leg trousers with a red alpaca jumper from Arket. Red lips, gold hoop earrings and necklaces. (Slippers.)

A tu green floral velvet dress that i have just bought in a sale.

Tiered lace skirt from marks and Spencer ( sale) and a new roll neck jumper

Wide leg blue jeans and navy sequin t shirt. I love a bit of sparkle.

Probably my plaid maxi dress and a retro looking Christmas cardie.
I like to look nice but it still has to be comfy.

Lounge suit ( going to my daughters ) her wife n 3 kids..will be playing board games and doing crafts.

My new red Bosie sweater, jeans and some Christmas socks.

I’ve just lost 5 stone, so this is the first Christmas in many years that I’ll actually be taking some pleasure in what I wear. For Christmas Day I’m currently torn between:

Red velvet knot front midi dress with sparkly beaded silver cardigan, silver ballet flats and sparkly tights

Navy blue velvet fit-and-flare dress covered in little silver glitter stars, with same sparkly tights and ballet flats.

I make jewellery and have made sets to go with each outfit, and I have silver star and snowflake brooch and hair clips. I will probably look ridiculous, but I don’t care!

Sparkly Christmas jumper, leggings and a funny head band

M&S sequin wide leg trousers third or fourth year outing for them with a navy silky tee from Mango or possibly Next
Comfortable as hell
Strangely flattering
Like sequinned pyjamas !

Christmas meal at a hotel with a friend - velvet trousers, red and black patterned blouse, ankle boots
Christmas Day at a restaurant - velvet dress, court shoes with detailing on
Boxing Day with the family here - jeans and a Christmas jumper

I bought myself a really flattering BIBA blouse in a charity shop the other day. I’ll wear it with faux leather trousers.

Oh crap, I’d forgotten I’m going out on NYE and will need something presentable to wear!!
xmas sweatshirt on Xmas day and something with a stretchy waistband.

Lumberjack shirt and jeans. We are Team Casual.

Full on Christmas kitsch - gold sequinned ‘Victorian’ top by Zadig & Voltaire, wide leg black velvet trousers from Reiss, Snow Queen shoes from Irregular Choice, sparkly dangly star earrings, dark green tourmaline and diamond ring.

My trusty dressing gown 😂

Midi, dark green velvet pleated skirt (bought in JL sale years and rarely worn), a soft (same) green jumper with sparkles all over, grey sued ankle boots (will take black furry slippers), a lighter green sparkly pashmina (I'm old and feel the cold) with a soft black wool wraparound cloak thing to travel 45 mins in car. All soft and comfy.

Sadly the velvet trousers look awful on me. I had such high hopes but the reality bears no resemblance to how I thought they’d look. Oh well

Toast red corduroy Franca dress, I bought it on eBay last year . It’s a dress up/down kind of look . In fact I wore it last night to a Christmas party and got so many compliments !
