What are you wearing at Christmas?

Apologies if there’s already a thread this year, I couldn’t find it.

I’m in team dressing up on Christmas Day.

I’ve worn the same dress for the past six years at least but this year I got a hankering for some velvet trousers so have ordered some on vinted. If they arrive in time and fit well I will be wearing those, if not probably the old faithful dress. We actually have plans on NYE this year too so the trousers will get another outing as long as I like them when they arrive!

For our lunch out (local Restaurant) I wore my black glittery Eastex jacket and top,and a black skirt and boots.(All sourced from Local Charity shops except the boots!) My friend admired my jacket!

Crunchymum · 15/12/2025 14:12

Wearing this for dinner at the weekend (dress code smart casual) with black palazzo trousers and black boots.

I will wear it again on Christmas day but with skirts, sparkly tights and dresser shoes.

Lovely jumper @Crunchymum

I’ll be wearing this dress on the day, it’s loose enough to eat my weight in chocolate!

My Christmas PJs, or i might treat myself to a onesie

Can anyone recommend a nice onesie?

PinkTonic · 15/12/2025 14:47

Navy velvet wide leg trousers and a brighter blue cropped cashmere sweater. I’m currently knitting myself a navy miss marple bow scarf in merino and mohair as a finishing touch, as per Ailsa on Game of Wool. Pearl earrings and brooch for the scarf.

vanillalattes · 15/12/2025 14:48

Leggings and a jumper 😬

Hopefully my PJs as it only me and DH at home. Boxing day will be dress nicely as we go to a family all day party, then I have another PJ day and I don't tell my sister who thinks it is slovenly. She needs to relax a little. She told me people will talk if she did that. I don't worry about such things and prefer to relax and enjoy eating mince pies with cream, trifle and chocolates. My idea of a good day along with a cheese board and crackers.

Love this

Usually buy a whole new outfit whether dress up or comfy but I haven’t bought anything for the first time as I’m sort of opting out of Xmas. If I do make an appearance, I’ll be wearing an old but worn once backless shirt that ties with a huge bow at the back. It’s navy. And some wide leg trousers.

last year I spent £350 on a Nadine merabi tracksuit to be comfortable and it was the most uncomfortable thing ever

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 16/12/2025 14:46

Autograph blue tinsel jumper and Zara midi satin skirt with JL diamante buckle velvet shoes.

Massimo Dutti metallic open back jumper and Top Shop black jeans plus silver/pewter Oliver Bonas ankle Western boots.

Also Zara diamante big drop earrings with both.

Maybe a Zara blouse with sparkle in it plus black jeans or satin skirt.

Notsureibelonghere · 16/12/2025 14:51

Green Uniqlo satin skirt, with black sparkly long sleeve top from H&M (if it arrives in time) and a black H&M cardigan with bows.

Person93369 · 16/12/2025 14:53

Oh god I’ve left it to the last minute as usual so probably whatever F&F have on Saturday.

OutOfVecnasReach · 16/12/2025 14:54

Nothing fancy or lovely here I’m afraid! Novelty Christmas jumper, leggings and slippers! Will add a red lip and some sparkly earrings but that’s as fancy as it gets as it’s just our household on the day.

ApolloandDaphne · 16/12/2025 17:12

Black velvet wide leg trousers from White Company. They are stretchy and comfortable but look very dressy. On top I will wear a bronze shimmery long sleeve top. It is a slouchy and comfortable low key glam outfit.

EchoedSilence · 16/12/2025 17:14

Jeans and a sparkly jumper.

OttersMayHaveShifted · 16/12/2025 17:21

Wide-leg burgundy trousers and a short-sleeved cream jumper with a silver pattern.

Oooooh where are the trousers from?!

MissFritton65 · 17/12/2025 11:24

@Londonmummy66 I bought that dress after seeing it recommended on a Mumsnet thread. It's lovely to wear and very flattering!

That might have been me.... It is so comfortable and well cut

MsSquiz · 17/12/2025 12:13

We’re off to the pub for Christmas lunch so have a short black velvet sparkly dress to wear with black tights and CL ankle boots.

then it’ll be Christmas pjs back on when we get back home!

SpiralSister · 17/12/2025 20:52

Lovely thread. I appreciate the planning ahead!

Christmas eve for church and pub will be a berry cord dress from Joanie via Vinted and chunky boots. Christmas Day will be a fabulous vintage scarlet silk maxi skirt, worn with classic skinny black cardigan from Jigsaw and kitten heel ankle boots. I will be changing into scruff order when home to cook and eat in!

IndolentCat · 17/12/2025 21:41

I love this!

probably either some nice jeans and a top- either a slightly Christmassy jumper or maybe a red top from Manners- or full Team Comfort with a boiler suit from manners which is SO comfortable. And a manners top so no bra needed!
