What are you wearing at Christmas?

Apologies if there’s already a thread this year, I couldn’t find it.

I’m in team dressing up on Christmas Day.

I’ve worn the same dress for the past six years at least but this year I got a hankering for some velvet trousers so have ordered some on vinted. If they arrive in time and fit well I will be wearing those, if not probably the old faithful dress. We actually have plans on NYE this year too so the trousers will get another outing as long as I like them when they arrive!

Faux leather jeans, silk blouse, pointy kitten heel boots, Georg Jensen pendant and silver hoops for church and lunch. Chelsea Peers Christmas PJs and celtic sheepskin slippers for after lunch.

narcASD · 14/12/2025 17:51

Wide leg sparkly black trousers from H&M
red sequin camisole and a black cardigan, pointy boots, really comfortable too

CharlotteCChapel · 14/12/2025 18:00

I haven't decided but probably my velvet tshirt dress.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/12/2025 18:54

I've made a skirt. Will wear it with a merino jumper and fluffy socks.

I’ve just lost 5 stone, so this is the first Christmas in many years that I’ll actually be taking some pleasure in what I wear. For Christmas Day I’m currently torn between:

Red velvet knot front midi dress with sparkly beaded silver cardigan, silver ballet flats and sparkly tights

Navy blue velvet fit-and-flare dress covered in little silver glitter stars, with same sparkly tights and ballet flats.

I make jewellery and have made sets to go with each outfit, and I have silver star and snowflake brooch and hair clips. I will probably look ridiculous, but I don’t care!

Well Done! I’ve lost 5 1/2 stone since the end of the pandemic. Very slowly but I’m keeping it off. I always loved clothes but dreaded photos & now every day I can wear something in a size 12 or 10 is such a joy. I haven’t decided what to wear but I have options!

ShaunaOfTheDead · 14/12/2025 19:40

Seasalt green sparkly cardigan and dark barrel jeans. With slippers and an apron! And later, with a paper hat.

GladFatball · 14/12/2025 19:43

As above, I've lost a lot of weight this year. Seven stone and still going. Just hit the healthy bmi range this weekend. So understand completely the novelty of actually caring what I'll wear.

That being said, I dont have anything fancy due to not buying anything expensive until goal weight. So probably my fitted red uniqlo sweater and my grey skinny jeans.

ABeerInTheSunshineMakesMeHappy · 14/12/2025 19:58

A jumper dress. I have one with sparkly snowflakes, one with a glitter pattern which looks like animal print and one which is more of a Scandinavian type design. Tights and boots. We are going out of our lunch but it’s to a pub rather than somewhere posh.

One of these outfits attached depending on how I feel.
I don't do sequins or glitter.

I love all of these looks 😍

Where's the burgundy blouse from please?

Ophy83 · 14/12/2025 21:30

Floppy velvet trousers, probably with a velvet t-shirt and hopefully a new pair of slippers if Santa brings some! All very comfy but the velvet makes it look a bit festive. I'll do a fancy outfit for our big family party next Saturday - petrol blue jumpsuit and gold esska heels

Autumngirl5 · 14/12/2025 21:34

We always dress up on Christmas Day as it makes it feel more special. I’m wearing dark purple velvet trousers and a cream fluffy sweater with ‘snow’ embroidered in cream.

Cantonet · 14/12/2025 21:43

Zara @fivefoottwowitheyesofblue.

blankcanvas3 · 14/12/2025 21:45

A skirt, sparkly top, tights and slippers! It’s my uniform every year

dudsville · 14/12/2025 21:47

It depends on the weather as we're hoping to get out for a walk, but one of two dresses. One is a berry red tiered, sleeveless poplin dress. It's thin, so good for the warmth that comes from cooking and it's easy to pop on a cardigan. The other is a buffalo check black and white cotton wool mix dress that has sleeves. Both will suit chunky socks and doc boots for the walk.

HolidayPlanningAgain · 14/12/2025 22:06

Actual Xmas day will be a Santa print bikini!

Our big family Xmas day is the 29th but that will be Sparkly M&S jeans and a purple lace top, paired with Ugg slippers.
Then have some satin Ted Baker Pjs for evening.

Full on Christmas kitsch - gold sequinned ‘Victorian’ top by Zadig & Voltaire, wide leg black velvet trousers from Reiss, Snow Queen shoes from Irregular Choice, sparkly dangly star earrings, dark green tourmaline and diamond ring.

Yours is my favourite so far. Sounds awesome!

LadyClumber · 15/12/2025 08:40

@Anotherdayanotherpound - Thank you! I am finally back to my pre-COVID weight so am ridiculously excited about dressing up this Christmas.

T1mesAreHardForDreamers · 15/12/2025 09:34

I never grew out of Christmas being a new pajama day 😬😳

I always have a nice bath with whatever bath stuff I've been gifted, do my hair and glam makeup and then put on either freshly washed or brand new pajamas. Always put lots of perfume on too!

If we go for a walk it will still be comfy clothes. Christmas is a multisensory experience for me and I do Christmases at home or at my mums, so I'm not going to be wearing anything less comfortable that pajamas or slouchy clothes!

I also always do the cooking so usually do majority of finalising dinner jn whatever pajamas ive put on the night before, then bathe, then new ones. Perfect 😊

T1mesAreHardForDreamers · 15/12/2025 09:36

The responses here are actually making me want to dress up though, it sounds so nice! I'm just a sloven at heart ❤️

onlymethen · 15/12/2025 09:41

Asda teal sparkle wrap dress, already wore it out and had lots of compliments, not bad for £30.00.

LunaTheCat · 15/12/2025 09:51

I am ho[ing to go for a walk on beach with my dog in the morning.. so loose cotton dress over swimmers ( I am in Southern hemisphere) then an equally loose cotton dress and birkies for lunch
Merry Christmas. 🌲

SagaNorenMalmo · 15/12/2025 12:18

Satin skirt and Christmas jumper.

spanieleyes · 15/12/2025 12:21

Blue floral velvet dress. I have a similar one in red that I wore last year, but that was a size 24 and my new blue version is a size 14!

Parker231 · 15/12/2025 12:29

Christmas Day will be pj’s for the annual family competition. There will be about 20 of us - 3 generations- entering the event. One of my favourite parts of Christmas.

Joeninety · 15/12/2025 12:38

Probably jeans and tee shirt.
