What are you wearing at Christmas?

Apologies if there’s already a thread this year, I couldn’t find it.

I’m in team dressing up on Christmas Day.

I’ve worn the same dress for the past six years at least but this year I got a hankering for some velvet trousers so have ordered some on vinted. If they arrive in time and fit well I will be wearing those, if not probably the old faithful dress. We actually have plans on NYE this year too so the trousers will get another outing as long as I like them when they arrive!

I love dressing up. Drinking champagne at breakfast and having cocktails seems so much better in sequins!! But if you turned up in jeans, not a problem. I just want everyone to feel welcome. If I am the only one in sequins, no worries.

Ooh. I think I will wear my new COS skirt(taupe, pleats, with a bit of sparkle), caramel silk shirt, dark brown tights and burgundy jeweled loafers. I have a nice brown cashmere jumper if I get cold. Nice watch, blingy rings. Hair done, good makeup. Easy food, mostly done in advance, so no sweating in the kitchen for me. Or grease on my silk shirt!

I’ve just bought two dresses - a tartan midaxi with frill detail and shirred bust by Louche, and a navy velvet midaxi by Joanie with shirred bust. Both empire line. I’m thinking the cut & stretch will be nice and comfy but hopefully at least one will be quite pretty too! First Christmas dinner as a diagnosed coeliac and I’m half expecting to get glutened at some point, so I need room for the bloat to expand 😂 Will probably accessorise with a big 90s velvet headband.

Some gorgeous choices by PPs, I’m starting to second guess what I’ve chosen!

I’ve got a long silky metallic skirt, which I will wear with a cashmere jumper and flat leather boots. I like the idea of getting very dressed up but there will be cooking and alcohol and dogs, so I need to be fairly practical.

A tu green floral velvet dress that i have just bought in a sale.

I think I know the dress. I bought it in a size 12 but it was too small and then forgot to order the 14. It’s a lovely dress.

I have 2 knitted dresses, one red, one green, which get wheeled out in the Christmas period as they are comfy but festive colours. I have a black top with copper sparkles and a green chiffon blouse with sparkly bits that always get a Christmas outing, either with jeans or black leather trousers depending on the occasion.
I live getting a bit dressed up too
