Own your apron belly ladies!

I have lost a shed load of weight this year. It's not been enough to lose the apron belly I've had for the last 30 years.

I need new knickers. None of the models in any of the shops I shopped in today had an apron belly like mine. I started the day getting depressed. I ended it thinking stuff them all, I need to own my belly.

So here it is.

Any of you willing to post your apron belly pics like me?

Have you seen the new knickers Miss Mary of Sweden are selling specifically for this issue?
Freedom Skin Relief panties.
Not cheap at £27.
They have an extra bit of fabric which sits under the belly so that your skin doesn’t get sweaty and sore.
And no, I won’t be posting a photo but good on you for doing so.

SuffolkUnicorn · 27/10/2025 21:19

The primark pants hold me in

SuffolkUnicorn · 27/10/2025 21:19

Having a tummy tuck next year as I’ve also lost a lot of weight and got an apron

Whathappend · 27/10/2025 21:22

Feeling lonely here ladies.

Please help me out

I was very overweight and now am only a bit overweight but still have a bit of an overhang. I had some very soft cotton strips to tuck underneath. Considering the miss Mary pants or hopefully a cheaper find

MightyDandelionEsq · 27/10/2025 21:41

This is a lovely idea. I had a c section and have an apron belly now. Good on you!

Apocketfilledwithposies · 27/10/2025 22:05

Also part of the apron belly club. Can't post a photo as I'm currently nap trapped under a snoozing child but solidarity OP. It sucks not seeing other shapes represented. Soo many of us have stomachs like this! You're not alone.

NotEnoughRoom · 27/10/2025 22:09

Not an apron, as such, but from the side view I have a B shaped belly - fat above and below the belly button - never seen anyone else with that - very weird and a pain in the butt for finding clothes that flatter!

ChaosDreamV2 · 27/10/2025 22:24

I’ve got an apron belly too - not brave enough to post 🙈 am a full brief gal!

SirChenjins · 27/10/2025 22:31

Joining the club - but not brave enough to post a photo! Never used to have this, but it's developed over the last year since I hit the menopause and I hate it.

djs94 · 27/10/2025 22:32

I’ve got an apron too - my first c section left me with no flap, I was around 7 stone, 5 years later my recent one has left me with what I feel is a huge apron and it gets me downs. It Looks just like yours. I’m 31 and it’s hard to remember that there are lot of bodies like mine when it gets me down. Well done you for posting x I would post but have a feeding baby led on me x

Screamingabdabz · 27/10/2025 22:34

Yep same op. Annoying that ‘plus size’ clothes are always modelled on bigger women with beautiful faces and flat stomachs. No good to me!

Don't think you understand......actually losing weight makes it worse after three kids🥴

oviraptor21 · 27/10/2025 22:47

Yep. This is partly having kids and partly losing weight. Both leave you with excess skin that just hangs.
Mine was probably like yours about 5ish years ago. I'd lost about 2.5 stone. It did get better over the next say 3 years. I will try to find some pictures. I've put on about a stone from my lowest weight so I've got a bit of excess on my tummy again but it's not as apron like as it was.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 27/10/2025 22:48

I have both an apron and a B belly. I started morbidly obese(BMI 46) and still loosing but a long way to go (BMI 34).
No way feel I could post a picture & would gratefully swop with your tummy. For models plus size with large aprons, have a look at snag underwear. Too expensive for me but bought imitation versions.

Radiator981 · 27/10/2025 22:51

I have a B belly fat above belly button then a dent then an apron. I remember in my 30s in the office two men basically said in front of me - women with large bellies must have really fat mons pubis. I was mortified and pretended not to hear. I was so upset.

mine is children and yo yo weight loss. I feel too sad to post it.

Your belly can be the last place that your body loses fat from. So you can be slim and pretty ripped looking (like me!) and still have a bit of a belly pouch.
Add on the impacts of pregnancy / a c-section / significant weight loss and you can have an apron that only surgery can get rid of.

ThatPeachScroller · 28/10/2025 07:12

Another C section shelf here!!! No one told me before the section what you actually end up with!

I have this due to cutting in low rise waist bands. Hoping the weightloss journey will disappear my belly fat.

SuffolkUnicorn · 28/10/2025 07:19

I weigh 7 and a half stone, I still have a bit of an apron overhang. Yes it’s much smaller than it was but after 3 children my skin elasticity isn’t what it used to be and the small amount of fat I have just puddles into the empty skin and hangs there.
