I quite like it. To me the shape is a bit reminiscent of her wedding headdress which I absolutely loved.

I think the Queen's overall look is great but don't like the headpiece - maybe better if the leaves were smaller. I wonder if they were supposed to symbolise something?

I saw Camilla’s headpiece and immediately thought of the Statue of Liberty. 😂

She has worn a headscarf for visits to mosques in Pakistan and Malaysia, and to a Muslim centre in London, so I can’t imagine why she wouldn’t follow protocol if she visited the pope - its similarly respecting the religious custom.

Camilla wore a considerably more low-key look when she met Pope Benedict as Duchess of Cornwall though - perhaps she wanted to wear something more dramatic this time?

That mantilla is lovely @Serenster, and would have gone beautifully with the plain silk outfit she wore today (better than the outfit she wore it with, in my opinion)
