I'm so shocked it happened while the museum was open. Were any visitors actually in the room while the thieves were smashing the cases?

Yes. Some of them have posted videos of the robbery taking place. The robbers were wearing hi vis jackets. They didn’t actually smash the case. They cut them carefully with cordless disk cutters

It boggles the mind. However I have a theory that perhaps all these items are just replicas anyway. Wouldn't surprise me, if I'm honest.

I'm absolutely loving the Queen's outfit at the Vatican.

Really? I politely disagree. That headdress is terrible. A veil with a more subtle headband would have been far more appropriate. I admit the rest of her outfit and jewellery are good. But she looks absolutely ridiculous in the headdress.

I like her dress, a flattering fit and gorgeous jewellery. I love the brooch.
The veil is awkward. I don't like the black leaves headdress, I think it looks a little strange and somewhat Halloween. Perhaps a black velvet headband?.

I can't see much of the dress, but I'm afraid I hate the headband fascinator thingy with the veil.

It appears to be a coat, she seems to have a taupe outfit underneath.

I like how dramatic it is, a little headband would just disappear in the outfit.

A tiara! That's what the late always Queen wore!

I expected a tiara but Charles doesn't seem keen on them at occasions does he. I wonder if he said no, being that on the Coronation and the ridiculous tiara ban.

Oh dear, Camilla was in a rush and accidentally grabbed her granddaughter's Halloween headband!

The dress looks her usual cut but she knows what works for her.

You're right. He seems to want to cut down on their usage. Boooo !

Boo! Absolutely. Not wearing them just means we don't see them. If they were buying new ones for each occasion that would be different but this is environmental!

Maybe a tiara was thought to be a little insensitive given what just happened in Paris 🤷‍♀️

I really don’t like the headress.
It does look “Halloweeny”.
A simple mantilla is fine.
Though I don’t see why one has to have one’s head covered if female anyway.
I thought those days were gone and if not, they should be.

I like the headdress...Mary Robinson got criticised for wearing green when she met the pope as president of Ireland.
I think this wearing black and headcover needs to be axed.
When we get our new Irish president we have either a Presbyterian or a leftwing lady who likes a trouser suit...I can imagine meeting the pope might be interesting.

It's a nightmare for women, sometimes, isn't it? Even Leti struggled to get her papal outfit right!

Melania was pretty good iirc. I like it, it's weird and old fashioned but it's the Vatican, 2,000 odd years old and counting.

Indeed @MrsLeonFarrell ancient religion meets ancient monarchy doesn't bode well for modern thinking.
That thing on Camilla's head is awful, regardless of why she had to wear it.

I still really like it but i concede it is the marmite of head dresses!

Completely agree - I love her brooch too. In some of the pictures she looks quite nervous.

I do like the dress/ coat outfit, anyone know why those who have an audience with the pope wear black.
