Ooh that’s a classic! This time of year when the weather changes always good to have a nice coloured knit! I bought a ginger one from toast last week!

I'm so relieved that the Violette Founder's Kit doesn't appeal at all. The very last thing I need is another black mascara. My bank card will thank me.

It was a bit underwhelming for me too which is no bad thing. I'd be happy if I was given it as a gift but my bank card is also safe.

I’ve just cancelled the glam edit I ordered with my credit for the founders . I’ve really wanted to try the bisou balm and mon cheri was the shade I wanted . Also the rest of the contents appealed more to me . I’m a sucker for a blusher 😂.

I think Liberty beauty marketing really did Violette_FR dirty here, or messed up. I red an interview and it sounds like a good interesting new brand, and the colours look good. September is when people are stocking up their winter kit. Most of us have bought our winter basics by now, and that’s what they’ve put in the kit, black mascara - not something interesting. And releasing it the week after their own Glam Kit? They haven’t given it a chance. It’s appealing on the Votary and Skin111 face masks.

The shades are like nothing else premium brands are offering. Agree @BakeOffRewatch. I presume the brand has a say in what products goes into the edit but there aren't any swatches that even indicate what the colours are. I'm not exactly complaining because if they'd made it look more interesting I'd have bought one by now and I really don't need another after buying the Glam Kit.

I'm also not keen on Votary or Grown Alchemist and assuming the make up session voucher is for Liberty I live too far away with no trips planned for a while. If they'd swapped the black mascara/body cream or hand cream for a travel size scent it would probably appeal to a wider range of people.

I've never tried VFR but it strikes me as a bit of a younger, contemporary brand which maybe clashes a bit with the audience for some of the other products. I might be wrong about this but it's just my perception.

I don’t think it is “younger”, have a look at the brand website or Instagram. I think it’s selling being French to NYC. Every time I go to Liberty recently, even out of tourist season, there’s a lot of Americans dropping £££. JD Vance in the Cotswold effect? Boden have opened bricks and mortar stores in the USA too.

I just looked up the shades on the VFR website. They do look nice but I really can't justify another Liberty edit just for the balm and blush. Hope you enjoy it if it's going to be more your thing than the glam edit.

I think @BakeOffRewatch is right, it would have been better timing in September or even early October rather than straight after 4 other edits.

That's interesting. I haven't spent enough time in Liberty to know this. Makes sense.

I feel like Boden has fallen out of favour a bit here compared to 10-15 years ago so fascinating that it's found a US audience.

Just looking at my eyeshadow now. There’s no yellow at all in mine. Top left is a very sparkly silver/grey (nice), underneath is a sort of sparkly orangey goldy colour, then a soft pink top right and brown bottom right. They’re nicer than they look on the image in my opinion.

Agree re violette and the eye paints - even the second lip balm is no colour as well.

Thanks for the info. I've been sitting on the fence re this edit. I am desperate to spend the last of my beauty drop credit! I may go for it now & then I can cancel my BD membership.

Im finding most of the boxes a bit random now and I just cannot get on with most of the perfumes we get sent. The last 2 in particular!

If anybody ever wants to sell any bibbi then let me know. Not the tiny 2ml tho

I can't remember which perfumes I have in my stash, I gave a some away a few months ago. My friends and I must have the same unsophisticated taste as there are some I just can't give away! I'll have a look and post back here. I think someone mentioned previously about setting up a swap chat (or similar). Maybe we could do that on here 🤔

Popped into Liberty today, they’ve rearranged everything. The exit onto Carnaby Street is now a permanent Violette_FR brand space. I had a look at the Yeux Paint and there’s some skincare too. The 3-in-1 balm sounds interesting. Didn’t test any of it. The Liberty insta stories say it was launched today with a breakfast and evening event.

There’s a food hall on the fourth floor now next to the Christmas shop, it has cute stuff like a biscuit tin in a book shape. I tried the Vilhelm Parfumerie Room Service perfume that’s in the scent kit, on me it smells like Johnson’s Baby Lotion. I tried Peony Couture and absolutely love it though - no 10ml of that for sale!

Liberty online stock is one of the reasons to quit beauty drop!

I've tried it and its nothing to write home about. Marketed as a lip 'treatment ' so I was expecting something quite creamy but no it's just like a clear lip gloss in a tube.

I wasn't keen on the blush or lipstick shades. I know you can't please everyone though.

Liberty have 6 kits out currently with this, the weekender and the 4 christmas ones.

Agree. The website is very frustrating to use. The store is beautiful but I live too far away to visit regularly.

But every time I think to try and buy something they don't have the brand im after in stock. - I think I'm waiting for the sales to finish so Jan will be last one... have been doin it for years and would continue if was making small often purchases...

I'm sure Aldi did a very similar liqueur a couple of years ago.
