Androgynous wedding guest outfit for teen

Dd 14 has a wedding soon and we are struggling to find something both appropriate for the occasion and that she likes.
Her style is very 90’s baggy jeans and crop top/skater girl. She does like to do her hair and make up and wear jewellery so it’s not she isn’t “girly” in her own way she’s just very much not a long floaty dress girl.
We’ve tried pretty much every playsuit/skort available to buy in the uk it feels like but none were right.
she likes the look of a woman’s suit/tie and while I want her to be comfortable and feel like herself it’s a very traditional wedding with lots of old relatives and none of the the ones we have seen are quite right and I know she’d be p*ssed with people constantly commenting on her being dressed “like a boy” (please don’t make the whole thread about this comment I know what I mean)
Can anyone find the holy grail of something edgy and cool but also appropriate for this kind of wedding?

Deadly is the Female? For a 13 year old? Really? Not appropriate I would have thought and 100% not teen fashion. She likes baggy jeans not sex bomb attire.

Trousers with a waistcoat are better than jumpsuits. She can have her arms out or put a shirt on. At this age I ask preferred pinnafore style dresses as well.

I hadn’t really thought of one. Nothing ridiculous but I don’t mind spending up to a few hundred if she’s happy and comfortable (I was also like her as a teen and still scarred by what my mum used to force me into) I should also add she’s tall and thin.

I second a waistcoat. They're everywhere at the moment. A pale coloured waistcoat with trousers would be great. Or a jumpsuit.

If none of the ideas go down well and it gets close to the date and the outfit is a battleground, it might be best to manage your discomfort at other people's reactions.

I had to do this once. Gave my DC a budget and they bought themselves an outfit. Neither particularly appropriate but they felt comfortable and happy and everyone enjoyed their company.

They have some gorgeous wide leg trousers 🤷🏻‍♀️

We have an outfit!!!!!!!

Following a link on here for a Zara suit we went to town to see if they had it in stock as there was none in small sizes online. They didn’t have that specific one but we found a very similar (possibly better) one that wasn’t even showing online.

she looks amazing and I can tell she’s happy and comfortable in it. It’s gorgeous blue tailored trousers with a fairly structured but still age appropriate jacket and a nice top under. The top is more “booby” than she would usually wear but the outfit together looks so good so we’ve compromised and she’ll happily wear it if I take her to get her nose pierced before the wedding. Fair exchange I think.

Thank you so much for all the help!

Thank you for coming back and updating us on the outfit - really appreciate that, and I’m glad you’ve found something.

Hurray! I’m so pleased that the link helped and that she’s found something she likes. Hopefully she’ll get more than one wear out of all of the items too.

@grown45 Glad you had a look at Zara. My teens really liked their output. There’s something for everyone. My DD2 is still a size 6 and still shops there.
