I hate loafers, but I like the pink ones.

With shoes you really can’t tell until you see them for real. It’s all in the quality and the fit. Buy them and ask an opinion from a forthright friend or relative.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 20/08/2025 06:52

You're not going to have 'good fun' in those shoes.

They make me think of Prue Leith...

Empress13 · 20/08/2025 06:52

Naaaaay !

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 20/08/2025 06:52

I think these would be more fun...

Shoes - hideous or good fun?
Gettingbysomehow · 20/08/2025 07:01

Love these. I love loafers generally and have quite a few pairs in different colours, black, navy and cream.

Gettingbysomehow · 20/08/2025 07:05

I always thought moshulu would be great looking at them online but I found their shop when I visited my mum in the south east and I just didn't like anything. It was like walking into an episode of the teletubbies.
These shoes looked strangely familiar then I remembered, because Im old, they are very 70s, I recall people wearing these then, often with a platform, purple and brown flowers were very popular then.
They are quite retro. But I don't think they are having a moment in 2025.

BucketofTeaMassiveCake · 20/08/2025 07:42

They're very plain and unattractive but probably comfortable. What are you looking for in a shoe? It is possible to find shoes which look nice and are comfortable to walk in too - they just take more effort to find.

LillyPJ · 20/08/2025 07:44

The plain black are acceptable. The pink flowery ones are beyond a joke.

schmalex · 20/08/2025 08:00

I haven't even looked but can tell they're awful because no decent footwear would be describe as 'fun'.

AnotherDayAnotherDog · 20/08/2025 08:06

They are a clunky shape which doesn’t work with fussy patterns.

Itstwelveoclocksomewhere · 20/08/2025 01:13

Dreadful.
They belong with skin colour denier tights in a nursing home.

Nasty comment.

EatMoreChocolate44 · 20/08/2025 08:42

I like them. I love colour, patterns, sequins etc. Dopamine dressing. You should wear them with plain clothes though. Make the shoe the statement piece.

chalkyc2 · 20/08/2025 06:34

I don’t hate these….depending on your personal style and what you’d wear them with!!

I have a lot of Embassy shoes I love them

Justsomethoughts23 · 20/08/2025 08:49

Have to agree the floral is a no from me. For some reason they look DIY which doesn’t help.

Conversensational · 20/08/2025 07:09

Hot chocolate shoes might be worth looking at..they're very primary-school-teacher but might meet the 'fun' requirement.
https://www.hotchocolatedesign.co.uk/

I think most primary school teachers would take offence at that 😂

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 20/08/2025 08:50

Never heard of dopamine dressing before but yes I definitely fit that style!

I do like a plainer outfit and then a pop of colour with shoes (don’t do handbags - that’s what pockets are for).

I will enjoy looking at all the options given. I do like the hotchcolate ones but they might be too wacky for me (though the sea monster ones are very cool as octopuses are awesome).

OP posts:
Ghostbuster2025 · 20/08/2025 08:51

OP, I feel you are getting a bit of a bashing. The fact is, shoes are for your feet and comfort, no one else's.
I cannot abide uncomfortable shoes anymore. If I need to wear closed shoes (in summer it's birkenstocks and saltwater sandals all the way), I wear lace up brogue shoes from Clarks in a variety of colours (model is called Hamble Oak). Or knee high patent black boots, also from Clarks. For going out to smart events it's Hush puppies patent low heel shoes, the model is called Freya, I have that shoe in about 10 colour ways.

Ghostbuster2025 · 20/08/2025 08:52

Camper Shoes can be colourful , comfortable and come in a variety of colours.

Ok well let's just say if you like Lucy and yak and like 'fun prints' with dinosaurs etc then you will like these shoes.

TitaniasAss · 20/08/2025 08:54

If anyone told me that my shoes were 'good fun' I would set fire to them immediately.

Of course shoes can be fun. What an odd comment.

I'm not keen on loafers but I quite like them. I think they'd look fine with a very plain outfit.

I'm warming to them partly by the amount of vitriol being poured out and the oh so witty comments [care home/ Prue Leith/ primary teacher]

mycatismyworld · 20/08/2025 09:04

I think they are fabulous 👌 My friends might not all like them but I dress to please myself.

Flamingmentalcats · 20/08/2025 09:19

I like them, very Mary Quant 60's vibes. I would wear them with jeans. If you like them, order them and see what they look like on
