I have a very important question to ask about UK style....

What is with all the dresses?!! Especially the flowery ones. I've just got home from 6 weeks back in the UK and I've never seen so many women in ugly dresses in my life! Is it just because they're cooler in the heat or has Me+Em just brainwashed the entire country?

This is meant pretty tongue in cheek before everyone starts coming at me with their pitchforks...which they're entirely dressed appropriately for! 😂

I think a lot of UK women, whilst preferring to wear something airy and light in the heat, also can't find bugger all else in the shops.

It will also have a LOT to do with expanding waistlines, especially since covid.
I do believe that the huge dress trend answers that need in particular.

I personally don't care either way, I don't find myself drawn to them though as prefer shorts and a tee in hot weather.

Some women don't want to show off pale legs, which is sad, but there we just are, so a long floaty frock is a good hideout.

I think the loose designs kill two birds with one stone - hide the weight gain and cost barely anything to knock up in a factory overseas.

That's a rather judgemental post.

It’s not just a trend in the UK. I was in Finland in June and noticed a group of middle aged women, all (I think there were five of them) wearing a flowery dress, denim jacket, white trainers and a crossbody bag. And they were definitely Finns, not a group of british tourists.
