The brooch is actually Van Cleef &Arpels.

So much for a Battersea badge 😂🙈

@Lunde , what's your take on @Cassiope 's idea about CPV's dress? She thinks it's a nod to Swedish national dress, which is interesting (upthread).

It might well be a nod to national costume as there is a similar silhouette and the Swedish love of nature. I actually immediately thought the earrings looked like the white flowers on the national costume.

Also I think that she may have chosen to stand out because she's the guest of honour at a big summer outdoor concert that is put on for her. It falls in the middle of the peak Swedish summer holiday season during the official royal holiday at Solliden Palace on the island of Öland. So there is quite the holiday vibe as well - the royals all sit up at the front for the concert on these throne-like chairs that seem to block the view for everyone else

i haven’t heard the word “Jakers” in a long long time. 😀
Do you have Irish connections @justasking111?

Yes 3/4 colleen 1/4 Scottish. Living in Wales 😂

Choux · 15/07/2025 00:47

CPV’s dress is in motion here. As is King Carl Gustav! I have always thought he was a bit of a grumpy old man so this behaviour is surprising. Everyone seems to be having a great time.

Amalia graduated from the University of Amsterdam today. I think she is beautiful and, looking at her jewellery, I think she is going to follow Max’s ‘more is more’ fashion style. Max looks great and her pale outfit does not outshine her daughter. So lovely that Oma Beatrix is there too.

Alexia just about managed to get out of bed in time for the ceremony having slept in her clothes and Ariane forgot her shoes but stood on tiptoe so her trousers only pooled on the floor a little bit 🤣.

Alexia looks like she was out clubbing till 4am the night before! Amalia really has come into her own in the last year or so and comes across as much more confident now. Ariane is always very smiley and seems to be the sister who inherited Maxima's exuberant personality.

Maireas · 15/07/2025 07:23

Amalia looks very glam, I'm hoping she has inherited her Mum's love of fashion risk taking! The daughters all look great, but in different stages of preparedness 😉
Lovely pictures.

@Lunde it's a shame for the people sitting behind them! They're all having a grand time. I like Silvia's outfit, as I said upthread.
Adding a plus - nice to see Beatrix!

Great photos of the Dutch Royals!

Madeleine and Carl Philip at Victoria's birthday celebrations. Sofia stayed home with the children and littlest one.

Oh I like that blue two piece! It’s a bit different but looks very fresh and cool.

Cassiope · 15/07/2025 08:46

That's a great outfit, even if I wish the designer hadn't decided to add asymmetry to an uneven hem. The neat frills are playful (the effect is so different from a bigger, looser flounce) and the print is slightly quirky without being look-at-me.

TwerkingRoyalNotWorkingRoyal · 15/07/2025 08:48

Yes, it's interesting but not too eccentric. That's how to get it right IMO. I'd happily wear it.

StartupRepair · 15/07/2025 09:06

Love Madeline's outfit. Also amused by Estelle trying so hard not to cringe at grandpa's dancing.

TwerkingRoyalNotWorkingRoyal · 15/07/2025 09:08

Yes that was quite exuberant! Definitely Grandad dancing. 😄

deeahgwitch · 15/07/2025 09:12

CPV’s dress was a lovely colour and pattern. I don’t think it needed the layers at the end and would work well as a straight dress without flounces but they probably made it more informal.
Madeleine’s outfit is gorgeous. She is beautiful and a sack would look well on her 😀
Queen Silvia’s jacket was a great colour on her but I thought her face was quite puffy.

TwerkingRoyalNotWorkingRoyal · 15/07/2025 09:15

I think Victoria really likes to dress down for this sort of occasion, probably to feel more relaxed and celebratory.

I (mostly) really like it too. I love the print and the white frill. The top is an excellent shape and fabulous fit. It looks fresh and summery. The hemline, however, is bringing me out in hives. I have an aversion to asymmetric hems and this one somehow manages to be asymmetrically asymmetric as you say 😆

Sophie has the dress Helen Mirren wore to Wimbledon so it was extra appropriate to this thread.

They both look fabulous!
was busy yesterday, but bagseys on the ruby jewels 💎, it’s my birth stone and favourite colour , will match my engagement and eternity rings . It’s only fair! 🤣

Here's the thing - many Swede's have a resting stern face .... but never get into a game of musical chairs with them 😂

One of my favourite Royal moments is the Swedish royal family bopping down the aisle to Sister Act at Carl Philip and Sofia's wedding - it all started seriously but around the 2 minute mark you see the senior royals bopping and clapping in the background

I too hate asymmetrical hems @smilesy
and espadrilles
and many but not all Erdem dresses

We know what side you're on, @deeahgwitch 😂!

Madeleine looks lovely, I like the pattern and colour, but not sure about the asymmetric hem, although it could be the frill at the bottom that I don't like.
I like the green dress on both Helen and Sophie, floral but not too ditzy.
