Recs for a lemon perfume that doesn’t give off ‘cleaning spray’ vibes?

I am after a lemon perfume that actually smells of lemons and not toilet/bathroom cleaner.

Ones I’ve tried that to me have the cleaner smell are:

Eros Pour Femme Versace
Under The Lemon Tree Maison Martin Margiela
Yellow Diamond Versace

Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you 🤗

Look for fragrances that are bergamot which is a citrus fruit but not lemony

O de Lancôme is the classic, and my favourite.
Clarins Eau dynamisante( red bottle) is a close second

If you’re ever in Spain treat yourself to the baby cologne they sell there. It’s beautiful.

I have some that I was given when my first ds was born, it’s lovely for giving that fresh feel.

Depends what kind of lemon you prefer. Fresh, fizzy, clean, gourmand etc. I love lemon perfumes but hate the cleaning detergent ones. My faves are Akro Bake (lemon pound cake), Xerjoff Lira (sweet caramel lemon) Lemon Tart(self explanatory lol) by theodoros kalotinis. If you search by note on fragrantica or parfumo you can see the notes and read reviews

Zara did a really nice one a year or two back - it was called A Sweet Pastry in Paris. Smelt just like warm lemon custard cakes in a patisserie. Probably discontinued now, but if you saw it cheap on Ebay it might be worth a try.

4711 is lovely, very very cheap, very fresh, but lasts about 5 minutes and it's gone. (For what it costs, and the sublime scent it gives, it is worth it, though).

A recent favourite for me has been Imperium, by Electimuss. It's a lovely, very slightly sweet citrus and vanilla fragrance - so you are getting the gourmand kind of citrus rather than the furniture polish effect. It's actually bergamot, not lemon, giving the citrus, but combined with the vanilla it comes across more like a lemon note to me.

I love the L’Occitane one that’s been mentioned and also Clarins Eau de Jardins which isn’t exactly lemon but very light and fresh with a similar undertone.

pambeesleyhalpert · 26/06/2025 22:10

White company have one!

Beautifulcreatures2 · 26/06/2025 22:14

Is there any way to get samples of these perfumes? I have tried a few and don’t like them much so before committing would like to try.

SwedishEdith · 26/06/2025 22:16

I'm wearing Ô de Lancôme now. I do love it but wish it was even more citrussy. I bought this in Majorca years ago and, I know it's orange rather than lemon, but it's so refreshing and lasts all day.

The Turkish cologne. So lemony!

MercyChant66 · 26/06/2025 22:42

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but Miller Harris' Citron Citron is absolutely what the OP is looking for. Very natural lemony top notes which later develop into a slightly spicier, woody scent. Absolutely lovely - especially in this hot weather.

24HoursFromTulseHill · 26/06/2025 22:52

Lush do a body spray called Dad's Garden Lemon Tree.
Lemon, lime, bergamot and a hint of lavender (but not too dominant).

Lavendersong · 26/06/2025 22:57

I have a lemon one from Floral Street
CK one is citrusy as PP

Iwiicit · 26/06/2025 23:04

I love fresh, light and citrussy perfumes. Anything strong and heady gives me migraines.
My favourite is Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermès.
