Unpopular opinion - Birkenstocks

I know this is going to be an incredibly unpopular opinion and I’m going to be very alone with this view, but….

Am I the only person who doesn’t really like the Birkenstock sandals? I think the trend is for “Dad sandals” as I’ve seen someone refer to Chanel ones like this too. I’m just not a fan of the chunky look of them and prefer something more daintier I guess..

Appreviate no one is gonna agree with me 😂 I am aware they’re probs very comfy.

They always give me blisters on the soles of my feet. And I always scrunch my toes trying to keep them on and their stupid bloody foot shape bit annoys me and their hard sole.

I much prefer something that's actually attached securely to my feet, even my dainty strappy sandals are secure. Best ones are my gladiators, with their multiple straps.

I also have plantar fascitis, so anything that isn't securely attached to my foot is a no-go.

This is the style and beauty thread and I’m getting so many passive aggressive responses. Genuinely not trying to pick a fight, just discussion around popular style trends!

it's hardly an "unpopular" opinion, that's where you deserve an eye roll.

I like my birkies, bought my first pair when I was 20, too young to worry about looking "mumsy" 😂

I have wide feet, theyre also a size 42 so dainty isnt on my radar.
I love Birkies and wear them year round.
Sheepskin Tokio and Bostons in winter, unlined Bostons and Kyoto in summer.

Im a casual dresser anyway so they suit my style and i like comfy feet.

Thing is, according to this thread, it does seem an unpopular opinion!

The vileness is part of their attraction 🤣

Not really. Just lots of people like them and lots don't. Which is why they sell thousands and lots of other shoes sell in thousands.

No matter how determined you are to feel that you're more edgy with your out-there (actually not at all unusual) opinion.

I’m not thinking I’m more edgy with my out there opinion, cut cheers for the assumption! I was genuinely curious… as I don’t understand the popularity.
