Another one disappointed about the LF recycling scheme ending. I know Boots and Harrods beauty also have recycling schemes for money off but I haven't tried either and I'm not sure exactly how they work. Has anyone else tried these?

OvaHere · 06/06/2025 13:00

I signed up to the Boots one but haven't used it yet. I think you have to make a min £10 purchase to get the 500 recycle points. I think I will use it but will have to time it for when I actually need something sold in Boots.

Not sure what the T&Cs for the H Beauty are but it's in-store and there isn't one anywhere near me.

@Nifty50something yes, I use the Boots one regularly. It's pretty good, but not quite as good as the LF/CB one as you need to send £10 to get 500 points (worth £5) when you recycle 5 items. You can also recycle blister packs (£1 worth of points for 5 packs with a min £5 spend)
Boots will take dental items like old toothpaste tubes and toothbrushes too.
There's a whole thread on here somewhere about the scheme which would give you more details if needed.

I've managed to get my Boots points to 5500 in readiness for the Cosmopolitan box being released.

FlipperSkipper · 06/06/2025 13:23

I got the M&S bag today but am very tempted by the Boots Cosmo box too!

JulyM85 · 06/06/2025 14:14

Hi! Does anyone know when the Cult Beauty Flight Mode Edit comes out?

BlueLimes · 06/06/2025 15:12

@nearly61 I’m level 3 and have never had or seen about this !!

Harrods is fab- they accept shampoo/ conditioner too. You need to sign up to the loyalty scheme, take 5 products, they check them, but I’ve not had anything refused, scan your loyalty bar code and you get £5 credit. It’s only in store and you can only do 1 deposit per day. So you can’t really build up as much credit unless you live near one, it’s still a nice perk. I also think Harrods’ are very generous with samples, they normally pop a few things in bag when you are paying.

Ooh! I forget there's one close to me. Must try this.

Boots is great as you can buy anything to get your £10 spend. I bought anti histamines last month and got 500 points.

You have to scan the items into their recycling app in advance then scan the qr code in store and select which items you're depositing. You get the voucher in a couple of minutes and scan it at the till when you pay.

My friend thought you could only just it once a month - she was delighted when I said you could do it every 3 days 😆

Do you need to buy anything at the same time? I didn’t know Harrods did it at all.

OvaHere · 06/06/2025 18:05

John Lewis have a scheme too. Five items for a £5 voucher but the catch is you have to spend £50 to redeem it.

Aldi have some new special buy dupes in stores.

Deodorant dupe for Wild
Summer Friday lip balm dupes in 3 colours
Rare Beauty lip oil dupes in a few colours
NARS blush dupes in Candy or Coral
Iconic London Setting Spray dupe
Benefit micro blade eyebrow dupe

I’ve just looked up the Harrods t & c and I’m reading you can only redeem one beauty reward per day. Do they mean earn one per day or use one that you have earned per day?

Thanks for the information on the Boots scheme. I think I'll give it a go and maybe even time my visits to coincide with £10 Tuesdays! For your £10 spend does anyone know whether you can use points or does it have to be money please?

OvaHere · 06/06/2025 18:46

@Addictedtobeauty I think it's submitting one lot of recyclables per day and only 10 per month get the 500 points. The Harrods points I think just add up to a monetary amount rather than separate vouchers - so more like Boots than Cult Beauty iyswim.

@OvaHereI got my Skinceuticals sample today, thanks for making me aware of the offer.

OvaHere · 06/06/2025 19:50

@ElizabethG81 that's great. Mine hasn't arrived yet but I did get an email the other day to say it was on it's way.

I don't know if it's a product I would buy as it is expensive but since their formula patent has just run out and dupes are being brought out by so many brands I want to try it for a baseline of how much the dupes are actually like it.

You have to pay in money and not points, and only in store which I think rules out combining with £10 Tuesday as isn't that online only?

RockaLock · 06/06/2025 20:06

I got the same “your skinceuticals sample is on its way” email too, but haven’t received it yet.

I have used the skinceuticals ferulic before. The smell is not great! and generally I don’t think that vit c actually does anything for my skin at all.

But obviously I sent off for the free sample anyway Grin so thank you @OvaHere for the heads up on that.

And thank you generally, in fact, for keeping us up to date with all the GWP and beauty boxes (my bank balance won’t thank you, though…) Like many PPs I have the boots cosmo box page bookmarked!

Thank you. I'm not sure whether £10 Tuesday is in store or just online. According to Topcashback it's both but I can't tell from the Boots website and I've only ever shopped it online before.

You're welcome. I love a good beauty box and some are such great value.

I have heard that the skinceuticals smells like hotdog water but some people swear by it. Finding a favourite Vit C is my current beauty mission.

@OvaHere re. the skinceuticals CE Ferulic I am one of those people - It's one of the few things that I see a visible difference in skin radiance and elasticity after using it for just a few days. But it's bloody expensive so I've not used it consistently, but also never got the same effect from other vit c serums ( Medik8, sunday riley etc). Really interesting to know the patent has lapsed, hopefully a less ££ excellent dupe is on it's way!

Noshadelamp · 07/06/2025 04:02

Just want to say thank you for this thread. I got the m&s beauty edit today, such a lovely treat. I'm having health problems atm and even the cute bag cheered me.

There's a couple of meh products I wouldn't buy but definitely worth it to me for the 2 Estée Launder products and Floral Street perfume. The Arkive hair oil is surprisingly nice as well.

Nifty50something · 07/06/2025 05:31

For those looking for a good vit C have you tried the Ordinary l-ascorbic powder mixed with their resveratrol + ferulic? Because it's a powder the vit C stays very fresh and the mix smells like hot dog water just like the skinceuticals c-ferulic (not sure that's a good thing though!). It's much cheaper and gives me a real glow.
