That Elasticizer looks FULL SIZE to me.

I don't think it is. I think the sizes of the other products might be very small! 😂

Doubleraspberry · 29/06/2025 08:40

😂

Honey, I only get out of bed for a full size Elasticizer.

Arrearing50 · 29/06/2025 09:17

@OvaHere ivd got one of those hourglass palettes from cyber nov ooh I think it was the year before last it’s great. Those look good!

Branster · 29/06/2025 11:20

Full size Elasticizer in a beauty box is a huge marketing gamble.
A bit like if you are not keen on spiders but you somehow manage to cope with the normal size ones in the house, you either ignore them, you remove them or you kill them. And one night you go to the bathroom to have a pee in the middle of the night and you notice a tarantula in the bathtub! A spider fan would be in heaven, most people would have a pretty dramatic reaction.
Wasn't there a full size tub of this in the first Boots Beauty Box a couple of years ago, the box with the pink lid?

Thelifeofawife · 29/06/2025 12:26

I’m still waiting on my Boots beauty box. I’m going against the grain, the elasticizer is actually one of the products I bought it for!
In terms of other beauty products, I’m still working my way through the many AC and beauty boxes I bought previously.

Murad eye cream - is there more than one type? I got one in the JL AC and have bought a couple more since. I like it, there’s no drastic improvement for me, but it softens the lines a little and helps my make up sit better

Arrearing50 · 29/06/2025 12:34

I’ve never found an eye cream that was life changing - medik8 retinoate was about the best but meh. I do like elasticiser although it is a slow mask.

QueefofSheena · 29/06/2025 12:51

Elasticizer, SDJ and Aromatherapy Associates stuff actively put me off boxes and edits

Arrearing50 · 29/06/2025 12:54

Although I’ve found the endless S d J freebies make me v popular with kids in the age range of about 10-18 and resell fairly quickly!

Thelifeofawife · 29/06/2025 16:17

Oh my goodness I ended up with such a stock of SDJ creams, I was actively giving them away.
Agree they are popular with teens so I have kept a couple for presents

Addictedtobeauty · 29/06/2025 16:39

I seem to buck the trend- I actually love SDJ -and I’m a long way past teen 😁. The body butters and shower gel /creams are amazing.

OvaHere · 29/06/2025 18:06

I quite like the SDJ creams. Enough to use them up. The tiny ones barely last a couple of uses. If I was going to specifically buy a body cream they wouldn't be my first choice.

If they must give us Elasticizer I find the full size more appealing than the tiny ones. I've been trying to use a few of them up. I've got quite a lot of hair so a tub is more practical as I find the small tubes difficult to get all the product out of once my hands are slippy.

I don't feel like it does anything amazing to my hair but tbh since hitting peri age I feel like nothing makes my hair amazing. I think it was youth that gave me great hair! 😂

Of all the quick hair treatments that claim to give you shiny, soft, strong, hydrated hair, the only ones I found to work were an American brand leave in finishing spray smelled amazing and it even de-tangled but discontinued now and Palmers conditioner of all things.

CorneliaStreet · 29/06/2025 19:05

I once dealt with all my mini elasticisers by decanting them all into one tub and made myself use it all up. It doesn’t seem to do much for my hair.

At the moment I’m using a good Grow Gorgeous hair mask that I got in a Next box. Think it’s the thicker hair one. Nice and conditioning and leaves my hair really soft.

OvaHere · 29/06/2025 19:08

I had a small size of the Christophe Robin Prickly Pear mask from an advent calendar. I did think that made a bit of a difference. I might buy a full size at some point to test it further. One of the Amika ones was quite nice but it was a one use size and I now can't remember which colour the tube was.

On a totally unrelated note I have a K beauty lip gloss recommendation. I've tried quite a few that have either come in boxes or I've picked up for under £10. I've been underwhelmed by the vast majority other than the fact they are inexpensive to try out.

There's a brand called Hera though which is considered a higher end brand. I picked one up a while back when Olive Young had a brand week discount. It's such a nice lip gloss in texture and colour. Just the right consistency and is reasonably well lasting for a gloss. Lovely packaging too. I got it out again to wear today which reminded me how much I like it so thought I'd share.

I feel I’m going to be thrown off the thread for admitting this but I like the elasticiser so much that I bought one of the huge pump action bottles in TK Maxx….

I have binned that awful Avant stuff that’s only bunged in to bump up the notional value though!

wheresmyshoe · 29/06/2025 19:52

An hourglass palette shouldn’t be on my wishlist @OvaHerebut I love horses and those are my colours so it might be destiny

Doubleraspberry · 29/06/2025 19:56

I love my Hourglass palette.

@BurningTheToast I’m going to see what Elasticizer I have lying around that might be in fit state to send you.

I’ve also rebought Christophe Robin in the past. And the Charlotte Mensah stuff in the Beauty Drop was lush. But mostly my hair is quite unresponsive to random stuff.

BlueLimes · 29/06/2025 19:59

What do you do with the hourgksss? Is it like a bronzer?

TragicMuse · 29/06/2025 20:24

I loved Charlotte Mensah, that was a repurchase. Then I got my hair chopped off so its curly properties are less useful!

Davines too, I love their hair stuff.

I don’t mind the elasticizer but it’s not a holy grail for me. Not awful, not amazing!

What I am absolutely jonesing for is Trinny skincare. I’ve had some samples and I just want it! All of it.

I got the Dragon one last year. I like the concept a lot as you basically have a full face in one palette and the powders are all quite subtle and buildable. It leans a little bit warm toned for me though so I bought the four pan that came out a couple of months ago which is more cool toned and I also used that Cult Beauty £50 code glitch from May to buy a full size bronzer that leans more cool.

Upshot is I have more than enough Hourglass to last a few years so I'll have to keep a grip on my FOMO for the next release because realistically nobody needs multiple of the holiday palettes. The colours get recycled a lot too so once you own a few powders from Hourglass there's a decent chance the new palettes will dupe some of what you already own.

On the subject of being warm toned it does seem to be a common mention/complaint that the 6 pan palettes lean warm every year. They do 3 palettes to cover fair, medium and dark skin but they are still all warm. I did think the Deer palette might look as though they addressed that a little bit but until influencers start receiving them as PR and doing swatches it's hard to tell.

@TragicMuse I've only tried the Trinny eye shadow so far (Wisdom - a lovely neutral everyday shade) and it's brilliant. Good but not heavy coverage and if it creases during the day you can just give it a little pat and it's good as new. I've ordered a Miracle Blur on Vinted to try - I don't normally use concealer-type stuff - and I'm interested to see how that goes. I'm also trying hard to resist the Liberty edit of her skincare.
