My Medik8 sample has come - it’s a decent size, more than just a sachet! I’m v pleased.

Excellent. Let us know what you think.

I didn't get the sample as I bought the full size when it released. Naughty really because I've got a few Vit C serums I'm using but finding my HG Vit C has been a recent fixation since I decided I needed one on a morning.

I've gone back to finishing up the Summer Fridays one since I returned from holiday and as much as I don't like the Allies of Skin texture I do think maybe it performed better (or did I look brighter because I was on holiday and not at work? hmm..). The SF bottle will be finished soon so I'll pick up the AoS again to finish, then after that start the MediK8.

Brilliant!
Mine was supposed to be delivered today but, for some reason, the postman hasn't been- it's a but hit and miss with our postman.

@OvaHere that's showing real faith in the brand 😁

Let's hope it's a decent product!

In other news, I'm very tempted to try Volulift. Has anyone tried it yet? Although it is aimed at 'Ozempic face' (not my own terminology), it promises to work miracles and I wonder if it would really remove lines and if it is suitable where weight loss is not the concern. So can anyone use it and actually see any results? It is expensive (naturally). So it would be an expensive gamble on a brand I am not familiar with. I am also reticent because I've only seen this through the marketing lenses of Instagram, even though I have reasonable trust in those associating their name to the product launch (Editors List and Alice Hart Davis). But at the end of the day it's still only PR drummed up over the last, maybe, three months. What's a girl to do?!

I saw similar promotions for The Ordinary EGF serum (from different skincare professionals ) and in the end decided not to try it on the basis that it sounded too good to be true, all marketing speach, even though it is an inexpensive product.

OvaHere · 25/06/2025 22:22

I hadn't heard of Volulift @Branster I'm a bit dubious that it's just a cash grab because lots of people are losing weight with GLP 1 medication and sagging skin is a side effect. I've not done anything but give it a quick google though.

I can't find what the ingredients are on the website. If you can track them down I'd look to see whether actually there are other products that are similar and cheaper. I'm not convinced a cream will be so ground breaking it has got things in it that no other cream has.

You might be onto something @OvaHere
The official website, now that I looked properly, doesn't show anything that I can see in the way of clear ingredients or clinical studies (or even users study).

I think this is the official American website https://volulift.imageskincare.com/pages/home/#shopify-section-template--18389234352307volulifthotspotss_Urykw4

My understanding is that this is distributed through beauty clinics as opposed to shops. So I guess you need to go to a clinic which is a distributor and buy it there maybe.

This place in London gives details of ingredients but I have no idea where this information comes from or if it is genuine

www.montclairelondon.co.uk/product-page/volulift

It may well be one big con.

This is a picture of the ingredients list from an ebay listing I found but, for some reason it's gone now, maybe sold or removed.

It's hard to read fully but usually the ingredients near the top of the list are the main ones. I can see Squalene, Hyaluronic Acid, Ectoin and some sort of peptide. I'm fairly confident it can be closely duped.

I'm a big fan of nice skincare (clearly!) and it can give a lot of topical benefits. Everyone looks better with clear, hydrated and softer skin but I think the benefits for wrinkles and sagging are minimal beyond a certain point and what benefits do exist can probably be achieved with a number of decent products of varying prices.

Don't know if it's an outright con as such. I just think it's probably being marketed to people who have found a way to finally lose weight, are maybe practicing self care for the first time in a long while and won't realise they could achieve similar results from regular use of more affordable products. Developed by a plastic surgeon sounds legit and 'sciencey' but if cream really worked miracles then half these surgeons would be out of work.

I think it's the targeted marketing that bothers me about it, piggy backing onto GLP 1 popularity and charging a lot for something on the back of that.

There's possibly a Cult Beauty x Jamie Genevieve 2025 edit coming. This video is the only place I've seen reference to it so far. If it turns out to be true it has the Bioeffect EGF serum in it again that I know a few people here like. I'll watch out for more info.

Tbh the medik8 products are the best I’ve found and even then you’re talking reducing not eliminating wrinkles, I can’t think I’ve seen anything that really works for sagging although don’t some people swear by face yoga and gua sha?

my dd loves gua sha and is always doing that to me - that’s worth a try.

OvaHere · 26/06/2025 07:56

@Arrearing50 maybe I need to persuade DS to learn gua sha. I have about 3 of them gathering dust from various beauty boxes!

Another good deal from cult - I had to resort to buying a gua sha after I broke my
dermalogica one! I do think it does something!

If it breaks again give me a shout. I'd be happy to send one. There's another coming in July's LF sub box. 😂

Ordered mine! Points balance back to zero 😥

Ordered! I was tempted to use points but I’m saving for a new electric toothbrush when they’re on offer at Christmas, so spending real money. Last treat for a while.

I am really enjoying everything I’ve tried so far from the M&S summer bag though, the body wash is so concentrated and the REN sunscreen is great.

OvaHere · 26/06/2025 10:39

I've decided I'm not going to order the Boots box even though I think it's a good one. The main draw was the Laneige mask and I got a full size one in last weekends Cult Beauty GWP.

Was slightly tempted by the LiB build a box but decided against that too. Knowing that that the advent calendars are starting to appear is tempering my impulses.

@OvaHere you are an angel! I can't tell you how much I appreciate this thread.
I'm recovering from a long illness and these beauty boxes are amazing. I wouldn't have the time or energy or knowledge to know how to find them so I just want you to know how much I appreciate you and everyone else who contributes.
