Apologies if this has been posted already but I couldn't see it.
Sample of Medik8 C-Tetra Advanced you would have to pay £3.75 for postage

www.medik8.com/pages/cta-sampling-acq?srsltid=AfmBOop2vSdYwVNIho-yNk-lHWh1W9GTuFFdCTnOzaZG1chGHwfDo2vK

This is their latest serum and I wonder if it is anywhere near as good as the Liquid Peptides Advanced MP.
I don't usually get on well with vit C serums but keen to give this one a go. I hope it's not amazing because, like the peptides serum, it is not cheap.

I've been following your amazing finds on here. Sadly my play money is exactly at Zero right now and have not bought anything. But I will have to investigate the LiB CEW offers. I didn't receive an email about this, for some reason, but I made guesses looking at their Instagram posts.

Is the liquid peptides good? I have one from a beauty box (I think!) and haven’t opened it yet…

Arrearing50 · 24/06/2025 09:50

Thanks @Branster ive been eyeing that new vit c with interest - I’ve got the liquid vit c from medik 8 and the eye vit c from them and both very good but not quite life changing…

Branster · 24/06/2025 10:53

@TragicMuse I have been convinced of it after trying the sample, so this is now 1 of the products I am using every day and won't be changing it unless it will become discontinued. I use the Advanced version, haven't tried the regular one.
It really works at removing expression lines. I don't know if temporary because I'm scared to stop as a test. It doesn't do anything for fine lines.

Branster · 24/06/2025 11:00

@Arrearing50 interesting, thank you for sharing your experience. In a way, I don't want it to be brilliant because it is expensive.
I'm not good with vitamin C serums, they feel too tingly on my skin so I suspect too strong for me.
I find I get pigmentation during hot weather which disappears over subsequent months. Possibly because I am concentrating more on deeper cleanse and exfoliating and toners. Or possibly just to do with temperature. I take the pill and my understanding is that very hot weather brings out the pigmentation. Even if skin is protected with strong SPF. This seems to be the case for me. Seasonal but very annoying.
So even skin tone may or may not work from this serum but I'm not overly concerned as I got used to this seasonal change.
Fine lines though, that would definitely interest me.

TragicMuse · 24/06/2025 11:03

Thanks @Branster - I’ve recently started looking after my skin (about time tbh!) and am working through my subscription box and A/C stash. So I’ll check it out and see if it suits me!

I discovered some Lancôme Génifique sachets which are getting used. That’s quite nice actually!

My face was dry and rough and after 2 weeks it’s now lovely and smooth and looking pretty good!

Have you seen this kit released today @TragicMuse @Arrearing50 @Branster ? £59 worth £115 www.cultbeauty.co.uk/p/cult-beauty-x-medik8-limited-edition-set/16778101/

Liquid Peptides Advanced MP (travel size; 30ml)
Formulated with the brand's biotechnology Dual MiniProteins, this serum works to minimise the look of fine lines and over time for more deeper-set wrinkle reduction. How? These ultra-small proteins not only smooth skin but also boosts elasticity for a more a firmer appearance.
Daily Radiance Vitamin C C-Tetra Cream SPF30 (travel size; 12.5ml)
Wake up feeling energised with your new morning must-have. Perfect for all skin types, this lightweight, silky cream infuses antioxidant-rich vitamin C and E with SPF 30 to nourish, protect and brighten your complexion.
Surface Radiance Cleanser (travel size; 40ml)
Powered by an exfoliating AHA and BHA complex (AKA l-lactic, l-mandelic and salicylic acids), this gel-to-foam cleanser gently exfoliates the skin as you massage it in, to improve the appearance of uneven texture, fine lines, wrinkles and dullness.

For skin pigmentation the Institut Esthederm Photo Reverse is amazing. It’s a very high protection sun screen so good for summer. www.spacenk.com/uk/sun-tan/suncare/face-spf/photo-reverse-MUK200017280.html

Arrearing50 · 24/06/2025 11:09

I have - I like all of those products although haven’t tried the cleanser! Medik8 itself runs a good rewards scheme, gwps discounts and on cashback sites - worth signing up to their emails.

as you can probably tell from the above, I’ve got a stash to work through. Addicted to advanced peptides too!

TragicMuse · 24/06/2025 11:44

Can anyone suggest where would I use a Paula’s Choice BHA 2% exfoliant in my regime? And how often?

thanks!

TragicMuse · 24/06/2025 11:45

Looks great @BakeOffRewatch! Most tempting!

Branster · 24/06/2025 11:56

@BakeOffRewatch thank you
The CB edit is very good value, although I couldn't add to my basket by the time I looked at it. The peptide serum in the picture is different than the peptide serum in description. At any rate, still very good value but as I have zero money to spend on beauty this month, I'm half relieved I can't order it.

Yes, the Esthederm sun product is indeed very good and I would also recommend it! Unfortunately, I can't use many SPF creams on my face anymore because they started to sting my eyes. I loved Bioderma Spot Age for a very long time then I was unable to use it, stingy eyes out of the blue. I'm sticking to Ultrasun Antipigmentation for now as it still seems to be OK for my eyes, not as good as Bioderma I feel, but I can't go around with tears in my eyes.

If you haven't used an exfoliating acid toner before, I would suggest starting once a week using in the evening after cleansing. Let it sit on the skin and not rise off. If you have dry skin, you could probably apply your moisturiser maybe after half an hour.
I wouldn't use the product every evening. Maybe three evenings a week at the most.

TragicMuse · 24/06/2025 13:03

Thank you! I shall be careful…

Twinsandsome · 24/06/2025 14:55

@Branster could I ask where you use the medik8 advanced peptide serum at in your routine? Like for a dummy cleanser then/then/then I have got one but just don’t know weather I should use before or after stuff xx

Branster · 24/06/2025 17:00

@Twinsandsome my method (which might not be universal) is to cleanse and then apply products from thinnest to most dense.

I rarely wear makeup so I don't bother with double cleansing.
I use a hot cleanse method, and I use the system with the massage from Eve Lom balm cleanser. I either use a cleansing balm or an oil (any oil, especially treatment oils coming to an end) or a lotion cleanser.
In an ideal world I'd apply a toner or essence just to get through the bottles I have. In reality I often skip this step.

Once or twice a week I follow with an acid toner which I let sit on the skin for about 20-30minutes. I might rinse it off if it feels sticky, otherwise I don't bother.

At this point I apply a serum. I used to use about 3 different ones, but I gave up on hyaluronic acids because they didn't seem to do much for me. At present is this Medik8 one.

I then apply a very small amount of nighttime moisturiser (I usually use a light version but for dry skin you'd want something more substantial).

I then follow with an oil, probably overkill but I do love oils. This would usually be an anti ageing or antiredness or even a plain light almond oil or jojoba oil.

On the nights I use the acid toner, I swap the moisturiser for a hydrating or anti-aging mask which I apply like a moisturiser and leave it on overnight and skip the oil.

I also use tretinoin three or four times a week, not on the nights when I use acid toner though. This goes on after cleansing and before serum, but I wait about 20 minutes or so after I apply tretinoin.

For mornings I only wash my face with plain water, follow with a toner because it makes me feel fresher, then No7 Laboratoires Line Correcting Serum, then Medik8 peptide serum again (if I was using a watery serum, I would apply that first, so from thinest to thickest product, an oil based serum has a higher density and I would use that at the end), then eye cream, then suncream. Sometimes I apply a light moisturiser before suncream if my skin feels a bit dry.

It sounds like a lot of faff but this is something I built over the years, gradually, and I chop and change every now and then. I also skip everything on some evenings when I don't have the patience or time. I also pare everything down when I travel.

I should probably only bother with tretinoin and 1 good serum and suncream and occasional moisturiser. Everything else is really not essential but I enjoy the process.

Hand on heart, my skin looks at its absolute best when I do nothing to it. Just wash and go. But this miracle lasts 5 days at most.

Twinsandsome · 24/06/2025 18:09

Thank you so much I think that’s why I struggle to get through everything because I get so confused about order etc xx

Have LF done these mystery boxes before? I’m tempted for £25.

https://beauty-detective.com/lookfantastic-mystery-bundle-july-2025/

Not sure. My best guess is that it will be surplus subscription boxes or stock so if you buy it manage your expectations.

I was sent a mystery box when I moved to level 2 in their points scheme and it turned out to just be an old sub box. Doesn't mean there won't be some nice products for £25 just maybe not much in the way of high end or anything like that.

I was a bit disappointed with this one. For an edit that's nearly £60 Medik8 have newer and more exciting products they could have done in travel size. Not being tempted for once is not a bad thing though. 😂

Cult had an eye retinovate from medik8 in their Halloween edits last year and that was a great deal. LF subscription boxes have been mostly quite poor quality this year.
