...now help me with shoes.

here's the dress it is FANTASTIC.

it's pretty late forties early fifties imo, i'm thinking that a small platform peeptoe sandal (not unlike my styleesh grandma used to wear) would be good.

if anyone else is ordering from uttam (although god knows what, i couldn't find a single other thing that didn't make me actively barf) there's a discount code for 10% off your first order. postage is free too, and it's next day delivery. i'm really impressed with the quality, it's LOVELY. skirt is lovely and full and the large patch pockets give it that strange post-war feel, iykwim? it's mad, i love it. AND IT IVES ME A WAIST!

why on earth would r&b have a website that only shows five of their women's collection? it's a bloomin' disgrace.

i am V hopeful about the orange ones.

JackieNo · 20/05/2008 12:13

Aitch - glad it worked out. Am at work, so no time to look at all the links, but you have some good shoe people on here, so hopefully will find something.

PrincessPeaHead · 20/05/2008 12:14

PrincessPeaHead · 20/05/2008 12:15

AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 12:20

thanks again, jackie, i am in seventh heaven with it. what do you do, btw? are you a buyer or something?

OP posts:
JackieNo · 20/05/2008 12:22

I wish, Aitch. I'm an editor, who just happens to like clothes (though you wouldn't necessarily think it to look at me).

i'm 5 foot 5 ish and it's skimming my lower kneecap in a modestly fifties fashion. the model in the pic will be at least 5'8 i'd have thought. buy it, there are pleats in the patch pockets! and the back is beautifully gathered with long pleats up the waist. it's a nice elongating detail imo.

All sorts, aitch - mostly stuff for various government programmes that the company I work for runs. Umm, today it's been resource efficiency followed by low-carbon cities .

STOP PRESS: i will not be wearing beads as they have a bit of an argument with the collar of the dress. if i wear anything at all it will have to be a faint little thingumajig on a chain. (not very me).

so, what colour of shoes, seeing as i'm no longer limited to oragne? although i like orange, and my friend informs me that there is a covetable orange leather clutch in topshop at the mo. red? (i'm a bit bored with red shoes, i think. apart from perkin's)
