...now help me with shoes.

here's the dress it is FANTASTIC.

it's pretty late forties early fifties imo, i'm thinking that a small platform peeptoe sandal (not unlike my styleesh grandma used to wear) would be good.

if anyone else is ordering from uttam (although god knows what, i couldn't find a single other thing that didn't make me actively barf) there's a discount code for 10% off your first order. postage is free too, and it's next day delivery. i'm really impressed with the quality, it's LOVELY. skirt is lovely and full and the large patch pockets give it that strange post-war feel, iykwim? it's mad, i love it. AND IT IVES ME A WAIST!

if anyone with a child turns up in that dress there will be merry hell to pay, let me tell you.

The russell and bromley ones are cork wedges Confused
they come in orange as well
I agree, the primark ones look uncomfortable and I'm with you on the shoe snobbage

DarrellRivers · 20/05/2008 11:17

Good, mine are london trendies in Westbourne Grove

AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 11:18

AH! on pph's link (on my computer) those yellow ones came up saying they were a tenner from new look and i went through all of them and found another pair of r&bs and got confused. but on yours darrell they say r&b. £80, i'm oddly more content with that. [prat] am off to investigate and see if i can get over my cork aversion cos they are distinclty fabbo otherwise.

these might look rather fab with your coral necklace. Not wedges but not too pointy-pointy-anointy-nointy

PerkinWarbeck · 20/05/2008 11:22

perhaps too retro? but I love 'em

AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 11:26

omfG perkin, i LOVE them. they're too pricey for me but they are MAGNIFICENT! lol, they've cheered me right up.

onebat, i think they're fab too, and the heel looks manageable for height for me. thanks.

i can't find the wedges on the (utterly SHIT) r&b site, can anyone navigate it?

I'm absolutely no good for finding you shoes but I just have to say I clicked on this thread, looked at the link to the dresses and having remembered your photo from ages ago thought "wow, I bet she'd look fab in the blue dress...."

Hope you get your shoes soon!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 20/05/2008 11:38

what a shame they don't have the right colours

AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 11:39

my goodness, thanks! honestly, i love MN for this stuff. i like clothes but just don't shop enough to know what's out there. and i really hate all the trudging...

having looked at the dress on the site again i feel i must point out that it is not a stoopid mini (at least on me) it's skimming the knee-cap in a most becoming fashion. [good legs]

no the russell and bromley site is the crappest site imaginable
I had to send my mum to buy them in bluwater after seeing them in Easy Living (this month) has a picture of all the colours there.
do like perkins though pretty high, would look nice with the blue

AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 11:43

oh poo, grumpy, they really are the wrong colours. for everyone, i should imagine.

they just don't seem to be on the website at all, darrell... is there an r&b where i live? i get it mixed up with jones.

AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 11:44

OP posts:
DarrellRivers · 20/05/2008 11:44

it's my fav shoe store but none where i live

AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 11:45

AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 11:55

AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 11:56

tell you something about lkbennet, my local cobbler says it's a disgrace how badly they're made. he repairs a LOT of lkb shoes.

OP posts:
AitchTwoCiao · 20/05/2008 11:57

they would indeed, tuts. we have a kg concession in town, i will put them on my 'trudge' list.

PrincessPeaHead · 20/05/2008 11:59

oh dear I did a google search and it came up with the right shoes so I just posted the link without checking

they are CORK wedges, slingback, peep toe, you have to get over your 70s cork things because these are fantastic. all sorts of colours, not just yellow (wouldn't go for yellow meself)...

trouble is the R&B website is pants so you can't see. I shall be in a R&B later (probably buying those shoes) so shall report back on colours if you like (tomorrow though, am going up to Big Smoke for shopping, drinks party and then dinner hoorah hoorah)

Tutter · 20/05/2008 12:06

whee ae you eating pph?
