What five things have you bought recently or been using/wearing lots that you really love?

Trilogy rose hip oil - been using it for about 4 months every night. It’s really lovely.

Kenzo Flower perfume- a proper blast from the past for me! I bought a Chloe one at the same time, but it doesn’t last at all, whereas I’m aware of the Kenzo for ages.

Cos heavy boxy T-shirts - it’s a bit too warm for them now, but I was wearing them on repeat for ages

Urban Decay green eyeliner and eyeshadow- I get loads of comments whenever I wear it

Marks and Spencer black ribbed tube dress - just a really useful basic

I gave up smoking a while back and am now seeing the financial benefit so have had a bit of a spree lately...

  • Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara
  • White Stuff Karla velvet coat in dusty blue which was half price as I think it's a previous year's version but it was the colour I wanted so a genuine bargain
  • Fit Flop Gracie Slides in "Paris Beige" - supremely comfortable and will go with all my holiday outfits
  • linen shirts from H&M couldn't decide between these two colourways so I ordered - and love - both of them 😳
  • and last but not least, Tiffany & Co sunglasses which are my new "precious" 😍

There's loads more and I should probably rein it in now!

Ooo this is a great idea for a thread!

skincare wise, The Ordinary Copper Peptide serum has replaced my Vitamin C serum which seemed to have lost its efficacy and my skin is glowing again.

A L’Oreal moisturiser which just seems to suit my skin - I’m using a richer one than I normally would and my skin really appreciates it. Mixed with some tanning drops, I’m using hardly any foundation these days

Kiko eyeshadow sticks have replaced almost all of my palettes - I just buff them in with a fluffy brush, use them to line as well and I’m done.

I’ve rediscovered a love of trainers ( just as we go into the warmer weather- bah!) and have bought some gorgeous denim and leopard print Nike Airs which make my daily walks an absolute pleasure

A brown and Navy Jaeger blouse I found in a charity shop for a few quid ( along with a brand new pair of Oliver Bonas sunglasses which I’d disregarded in the OB shop for being over £50- £12 in the chazzer!)

Link to the trainer's please! I have a trainer obsession

Well done for giving up smoking. Love that blue and white shirt!

Ooh, great thread. Loving the Diorshow stylo eyeliner pencil - loved the pearly gold so much I got the coral one too. Also the Dior Perfect Skin foundation stick - total game changer.
Doc Marten zebzag pink mules, soo comfy.
Nails Inc gel polish in a pale blue.
Maison Margiela fragrance ‘Jazz Club’ - just feels and smells seductive and lovely.

  1. Numbuzin 9 essence - has improved my fine lines so much.
  2. The viral green and pink floral maxi dress - jaw dropping
  3. Blonzer - rose pink blush mixed with bronzer
  4. Julliette Has A Gun Mmmmmm - totally addictive raspberry musky scent
  5. Adidas Toyko Originals in off white/black - go with everything

These jeans which I own in all three colour ways. They fit so nicely.

This Topshop jacket. I’m in Scotland, it’s still really cold!

Dedcool Milk perfume. It’s weird as I only really smell it on my cat, but I also get so many compliments on it.

This Next dressing gown. I’ve been off work sick with what I think has been covid (so retro) and it’s been very comforting.

https://www.oliverbonas.com/search/chocolate%20brown%20house%20of%20cats%20graphic%20t-shirt

this t-shirt. I love the colour and it looks great with the yellow striped jeans.

Love this dress from next. Am big of boob and tum and this very flattering and comfy. And has pockets. Smart enough for where I work too, but also good as casual. Have ordered in khaki today, so hope that colour works too.

Boots no7 pro artist eyeshadow palette called the full effect - bought just before Xmas. Only £15, and is my everyday go to now.
Elemis cleansing balm - got in a qvc offer last year. Am loving a little bit of luxury.
M & S own brand perfume - orange blossom and amber. Only £12.50 for 100ml and smells more expensive. Is my everyday at the moment.
Trespass kimbra sandals in brown - bought last year and wore throughout the summer (so bought a spare pair whislt on offer!). Can wear with shorts, dresses or jeans. And can walk a while in them as very comfy.

Fab idea for a thread!

  1. Korean face oil.. who would have thought I could put oil on my face and not get spots? I’m OBSESSED and look 5 years younger
  2. Bronzing moisturiser - used with face oil makes me look all tanned and glowy
  3. Period pants: should’ve been around in the 80’s!
  4. Wide legged cargo jeans from ASOS petite.. they literally can be worn with anything and look amazing and cool
  5. Trinny London foundation thingy that goes on white and changes to your skin tone. Really worth the money
stclementine · 05/05/2025 23:05

Have lost 7 stone thanks to mounjaro and have rediscovered my love of clothes also - have bought an awesome taupe coloured linen jacket that will go with my favourite wide leg trousers and a fitted top, maxi skirt and vest and lots of other combinations of outfits where I look cool and put together rather than fat.
The most beautiful swallow earrings in gold vermeil from Catherine Zoraida and also her fern earrings too.
Byredos Mumbai noise and Bal d’afrique perfumes. Sublime. As is rose of no man’s land which sadly doesn’t last on me.

orangetulipsinbloom · 05/05/2025 23:05

Inspired by another MN thread, I decided at the beginning of the year not to buy any clothes this year as I have plenty. I made exceptions for two purchases I am really happy with:

  1. A turquoise-green dress with a beautiful pattern from M&S: https://www.marksandspencer.com/pure-cotton-printed-v-neck-midi-waisted-dress/p/clp60725203?intid=mobile_app_pdp_share
  2. A really lovely Kemi Telford skirt from Vinted that fits me perfectly and is very eye-catching.
  3. And picked up in a pharmacy in Paris but also available online: Manicurist Active Glow nail polish in raspberry and blueberry. Much better than Dior Glow Polish I have used for years. Really impressed by how it looks and how long it lasts: https://uk.manucurist.com/products/active-glow
M&S

Pure Cotton Printed V-Neck Midi Waisted Dress | M&S Collection | M&S

Embrace floral prints this season with this feminine pure cotton dress. It's designed in a regular fit, with an elasticated waist that creates a feminine silhouette. A v-neckline and a touch of volume in the three-quarter-length blouson sleeves creates...

LadyOfTheCanyon · 06/05/2025 01:09

@RaspberryArcadia

absolutely. It’s this one:

https://www.superdrug.com/skin/moisturisers/day-creams/loreal-age-perfect-manuka-honey-day-cream-50ml/p/763368?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=18152693967&gbraid=0AAAAADp4mz-i1j2j97bRxmk0DvivUxX8y&gclid=Cj0KCQjww-HABhCGARIsALLO6XxUPtUJMEP34HAnX9RFq1qLKXFCNDC_FlyRtHMiQ6tEihaSys-yzEEaAv-HEALw_wcB

on special at the moment too! I use their double serum knock off as well. The moisturiser is rich so I don’t use tons but I’m in my mid fifties with dry skin and it’s responded really well to it whereas before I was using a gel type which just didn’t have enough oomph.

NormasArse · 06/05/2025 01:14

Cyclingmummy1 · 05/05/2025 08:42

Skin oil

Tommy Hilfiger striped shirt.

Fun Rocketdog pumps that I bought in last summer's sale.

No coat (that been a novelty!)

The cloths that come with Liz Earle cleanser, but not the cleanser.

Are the pumps the striped ones?

I just bought those.

BippityBippityBoo · 06/05/2025 02:52

Tretinoin. Just starting my second year on it and at the age of 54 I have the best skin of my entire life.

Pink suede Puma Carina trainers. Love the platform, and perfect for summer in Scotland, its never warm enough for sandals.

Big Frocks, mostly Toast and C&R. Really enjoying getting out of jeans and leggings.

Chanel Sublimage essence de teint foundation. Absolutely amazing. Yes, its £140 but I got mine from a local lady who bought the wrong shade and only wanted £50 for it. I’m already saving up for the day it runs out.

Byredo Rose of No Mans Land hand cream and shower gel. So gorgeous. I’d love the perfume but I can’t bring myself to spend £220 on 100ml of scent.

Hmm, let me think....

My primark barrel jeans. I'm a recent convert to this style but I love them now.

Another primark! The quilted denim waistcoat I bought last week. It goes with so many things and really adds something to an outfit.

My Joanie vegetable print midaxi dress. So cute and quirky, very comfortable too.

My silver acorn stud earrings from Henryka (birthday present from a friend).
They match my silver necklace with an acorn and oak leaf pendant and I wear them every day.

A little denim crossbody bag I bought in the New Look sale.
Got it on a whim and used it loads. Goes with everything!

AgainReallyAgain · 06/05/2025 05:48
  1. Clarks Alda Strap in silver at half price - fabulously comfortable
  2. https://carlarockmore.com/en-gb/products/wrap-shirt-dress-midnight-navy?srsltid=AfmBOoprGr1CUaWZ6Kiuzzc3GRJWw8MBN4IUPOcPX3wwdTmxV8IvJf6e, which was an "Instagram" purchase because I love her videos but turns out to be my perfect summer dress - cotton not linen, so less creasy, navy not black, which suits me so much more, pockets because I need pockets, and a wide kimono-style waistband, which is so much better for my stomach than the usual thin belts on wrap dresses.
  3. Rediscovered black silk tuxedo pants, that I've not worn since I stopped wearing heels but I've had shortened and now I love them all over again with trainers or the silver sandals above.
  4. Hask biotin shampoo and conditioner which is proving brilliant for my fine hair https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/hask-biotin-boost-shampoo/808436-720325-720326?srsltid=AfmBOoopeQyHK1uyzBCnxt5hn_G2fmreBfuqmCHhyN1RH6tlXN-ugwjW
  5. These linen teeshirts from Uniqlo - https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/products/E465761-000/00?colorDisplayCode=02&sizeDisplayCode=003 - I got the navy and the light grey but they wash really well and soft

@Shetlands - that jacket ... I love it. I have a weakness for jackets, velvet and teal!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/05/2025 07:06

So many lovely things! I’ll have a proper look later. It’s so nice to see what is giving people a lift and making them happy.

It’s a company called “so-ko” but I think their official name is So Cute. It’s totally random and found it in a local chemist shop. Pink and white minimalistic packaging.

I've been to the car boot sale this morning and bought some vintage Cath Kidston and Laura Ashley dresses so feeling smug about that.

I have lost six stone now, and have a couple more to go. But finding my love for clothes again. I was stopped twice and complemented on my outfit today. A me and m jumper I bought for a pound from Whatnot and dyed navy. A yellow Betty Barclay top also from whatnot for £2 superdry yellow sliders and m and s navy striped linen trousers, so those are my new favourites.

Glad I'm not the only one who dyes clothes.

AnnParrot · 06/05/2025 16:31
  1. Erborian CC cream. Evens out my patchy perimenopausal skin perfectly without flaking/greasiness/looking too heavy.
  2. A pair of bottle green brogues from Italy. They were in the sale and I love them.
  3. A pair of anonymous denim shorts found in a charity shop - worn in, soft and fit perfectly.
  4. M&S barrel leg trousers in navy for work (seen recommended on here). I didn`t expect the shape to suit, but gave them a go based on MN comments. They are great - nice quality, hang well and look more expensive than they are.
  5. Taking time to change my earrings. I get very lazy and often wear the same pair for months, but changing them every day feels like I`m making an effort and rediscovering old treasures is nice too.
AnnParrot · 06/05/2025 16:33

@AgainReallyAgain I love that dress! I like a wider belt on a dress too, a narrow fabric belt can make me look a bit sack of spuds ish.

AnnParrot · 06/05/2025 16:53

Can I cheat and add a sixth thing? Curlsmith strong hold hairspray. I know it is expensive, but I look out for offers/discount codes and stock up. It seems to not only hold my curls but make them look better.
