What five things have you bought recently or been using/wearing lots that you really love?

Trilogy rose hip oil - been using it for about 4 months every night. It’s really lovely.

Kenzo Flower perfume- a proper blast from the past for me! I bought a Chloe one at the same time, but it doesn’t last at all, whereas I’m aware of the Kenzo for ages.

Cos heavy boxy T-shirts - it’s a bit too warm for them now, but I was wearing them on repeat for ages

Urban Decay green eyeliner and eyeshadow- I get loads of comments whenever I wear it

Marks and Spencer black ribbed tube dress - just a really useful basic

MD London curling wand. I liked it when my hair was long but now I’ve cut it into a bob it’s absolutely brilliant. It gives me the perfect loose waves.

Uniqlo mini T-shirts - crew neck & polo. Excellent quality, wash well & are slightly cropped so there’s no half tuck drama. I have 6 in different styles & colours.

YSL waterproof eyeliner in a lovely purple colour. I use it to tightline my green eyes. I also use it to do a soft flick.

Skyhigh mascara. I received this as a gift & it really lifts my very straight lashes.

Black knotted headband. I’ve been looking for one for a while & found the perfect one in a little boutique.

I bought a multi pack of Next t-shirts last year, it was five neutral colours. Slightly large round neck (not quite boat, but not a true crew either), short sleeves and - best of all - a curved hem. I love a curved hem. I've been really pleased with them,a great buy.

Were they cap sleeve T shirts? If so, I’ve just bought a selection of these as I need to wear a higher neckline than usual (normally wear a V neck) for the next few months and these seemed the happy compromise between coverage and not choking me! I’m expecting to get a lot of wear out of them.

What a glorious thread, I’ve really enjoyed reading everyone’s responses and checking out the links. Thank you @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie

I’m another Mounjaro loser, 8 stone down now so having to replace my entire wardrobe. I’ve always tried to shop for quality over quantity, but that’s harder to do when you need quantity as nothing fits, so Vinted has been my friend.

My five recent things bringing me the most joy are:

M&S

Pure Cotton Poplin A-line Skirt | M&S Collection | M&S

Feel lovely and breezy in this poplin skirt, made from pure cotton for coolness and comfort. It sits high on the waist and has an elasticated waistband for an easy fit. The midaxi-length piece falls to an A-line shape for a flattering silhouette. M...

Such a lovely positive thread.

I started tracking my outfits a year ago and I’m starting to get a really good idea of what I buy but never wear; what I wear all the time and what gaps I have in my wardrobe. It’s really changed my approach to clothes shopping.

crystalmamma · 10/05/2025 18:53

Next straight relaxed jeans - they're mid rise which I've realised is the perfect fit for me.
Cantu curl conditioner
Black M&S fake birkenstocks
DKNY Nectar love perfume - just gorgeous 😍

Ooh - I tried the Emily puff sleeved top on and really liked it, but was worried about the quality. Have you found they keep their shape?

No issues with keeping their shape so far @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie but they do come up a bit big.

I love those Emily tops, such lovely colours - I’m torn between the red, navy and khaki.

Gettingbysomehow · 11/05/2025 01:04

I'm loving the photos. The blue dress was a steal, what a find. It's lovely.

I got the red, khaki and ivory but am also tempted by the navy! The red is a lovely shade of real red, not pinky or orangey.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/05/2025 15:31

The red is the one I tried on. Gorgeous colour. I tried a large, but think a medium might be better.

The Ordinary NF Moisturiser with Phytoceramides - just bought my second one of these. My skin is feeling so good with my first use of a few products from this brand

Lush Snow Fairy body spray - I’ve been using this since I got it as a Christmas gift. It’s sweet but light and has been my go-to spritz for 5 months (I love skin / hair care and scents so have quite a few)

My latest New Balance trainers, after my Achilles tendinitis reappeared. I can run and walk in these daily and they’ve helped cure the AT again, but I now need something just as good in a summer sandal…

insight hair products - great for my curly hair and discovered through my hairdresser. They’re CG friendly, vegan, smell amazing and my hair seems to love them

Dove Velvet Glow body wash - I adore and always feel nostalgic for Dove as have used it on and off for over 30 years. I’ve almost finished my Loccitaine Almond Shower Oil so couldn’t resist this beautiful smelling cheapy but goody!

Another Mounjaro Babe here, down 3 stones and a slender size 8/10. My figure is better now than when I was 30 (am 54) + I'm deeply tanned having just come back from holiday. So, yeah, feeling good.

A gorgeous set of gold, waterproof, tarnish free jewellery from Atolea that I won't remove for the rest of the Summer.

Freya Icon Balcony bra. Finally found my Holy Grail, every day bra. Fits like a dream, slightly moulded so doesn't show under tops. Went a bit berserk in Bravissimo and bought 2 nude, 2 black and 2 pink.

Chanel Creme Bronzer. Halfway through my first pot and Oh my God, nothing else even comes close. I never put my face in the sun and use this to give my skin some colour and blend with my tanned decolletage.

My new hair stylist. I was on his waiting list for over a year and he's in a city 20 miles, but he is utterly worth it! He specializes in short hair and he's given me the perfect, textured, boyish crop that flatters my face so much.

Nailtique Formula 2. I always have Shellac in the Autumn & Winter, but like to keep my nails natural in the Summer. This magical product lets my nails grow long and strong and gives them a healthy, buffed sheen.

MonkeyTennis34 · 13/05/2025 15:41

@Arraminta
I’d promised myself I wasn’t going to buy any more beauty products this month but your Chanel Bronzer recommendation is making me twitch! I have a NARS one which is….ok.

  1. The Essence Vault dupes of Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin (?) and Tom Ford Portofino. Oh my, these fragrances are so fresh and summery . My first time buying dupes but I’m not extremely impressed so far. Had a fair few compliments too.
  2. Origins Tinted Moisturiser. Love this for a No Make Up day look. It give a very light coverage but makes my skin look healthy. Perfect for the dog walk.
  3. KIKO Milano Pink Sparkling Hibiscus lipgloss. Quite a bright pink…a bit 80s I guess but it’s fresh and bright. My lip colour for this summer.
  4. Benefit Roller Lash mascara. Gives a very fluttery, long lash look but not overly thick. Great for daytime.
  5. Not beauty but I’ve just bought a great Lulu Guinness bag from John Lewis which was only £12 and is great for my fitness class.
