They're in my shopping basket in pale blue. I want the little badges to put all over them.

Arrested development? Or practical holiday attire?

crocs - only suitable for surgeons who have a messy approach to their work or people on boats who say Mein Host and wear a blazer in the evening.

I don't like them on children either. And anything that can be accessorised by something that sounds like jizz is best avoided.

donnie · 12/05/2008 13:48

was ther not some furore last year about nurses wearing them in hospitals and transmitting rays or something?

Crocs not acceptable on adults (it's going to be all crocs chat on mn again this summer isn't it)

Riven you need converse!

expatinscotland · 12/05/2008 13:55

converse are trainers, though.

they don't let your feet breathe the way Crocs do.

I got the kids fake crocs last week, and they are brilliant. Ds loves his and he normally couldn't give a toss about what is on his feet.

Personally though, i'd not wear them.

CocodeBear · 12/05/2008 14:03

shall i add these to my order LOL?

practical and sylish

Heated · 12/05/2008 14:11

Maybe ok in camping municipal showers to avoid foot-rot, or if you're required in whatever circumstances to sluice with a hose, but in all other circumstances, noooooooooooooo.

MissHaversham · 12/05/2008 14:25

"...but they looked cheap and nasty compared with the real ones."

Do the real ones look expensive and classy then?

MargaretMountford · 12/05/2008 14:26

the crocs are out in force in town this week...

CocodeBear · 12/05/2008 14:33

i have just ordered mine, the heat finally got to me. will restrain myself to just one jizmo or whatever they called. a tasteful flower.

I hate them.
We have also had a couple of "incidents" over here, with children wearing crocs getting their feet trapped in escalators, because unlike normal shoes, soft crocs get pulled into the teeny gap between the treads of the escalators...eek! So BE WARNED!

Miss H - pmsl they all look cheap and nasty to me...

Much as I hate the ordinary ones on adults, I have these and love them, in slightly ironic way...

SweetieDarling · 12/05/2008 19:49

Crocs on kids = cute
Crocs on adults = not cute, foxy or chic

Ok if you don't want to be cute, foxy or chic (who can be bothered TBH). Plus most of the men I know HATE them, along with Uggs. They would rather we stuff our feet into pointy stilettos and suffer, IMO.

GentleOtter · 12/05/2008 19:50

I love my Crocs.

frauster · 12/05/2008 19:58

Butchers, careworkers and pathologists. No-one else. Maybe kids

Nappyzone · 12/05/2008 20:08

I didnt realise they were so wrong - i got some real black ones last year and loved them and was looking fwd to getting them out again and wearing them for work (i am not a surgeon or nurse) but do walk alot....

CocodeBear · 12/05/2008 20:33

I recently acquired some fake Uggs that I think are lovely and DH hates with a vengeance.

So within a month I will have unwittingly acquired the two least sexy styles of shoe known to woman.
