They're in my shopping basket in pale blue. I want the little badges to put all over them.

Arrested development? Or practical holiday attire?

Well I have two pairs. One black and one bright pink. THey're not proper crocs - they are the cheapo Shoe Zone ones, and they are fab: non-sweaty and very comfortable. I am 43 and can therefore wear what I like (and always have done - there is a degree of daily amusement to be had out of upsetting people with one's assertive unfashionableness).

Mercy · 12/05/2008 12:19

Completely agree Kewcucumber.

Must start a thread on my need for practical summer footwear.

DarrellRivers · 12/05/2008 12:19

I have a pair of these
v cautiously treads away before stones throw

Kewcumber · 12/05/2008 12:21

no Cod - becasue they don;t do my size. When you can't walk more than 500 yds without pain in your feet, you will agree with me and worship at the altar of Comfiness.

Minum · 12/05/2008 13:18

Comfy and practical, and have improved the quality of my life

harpsichordcarrier · 12/05/2008 13:18

god no

OrmIrian · 12/05/2008 13:19

I have no opinion.

But DS#1 tells me they're crap and seriously uncool. Does that help?

OrmIrian · 12/05/2008 13:19

He calls them 'those stupid plastic shoes'.

TheMadHouse · 12/05/2008 13:21

Great for kids, but adults - no

My MIL has some, that completly puts me off

TheMadHouse · 12/05/2008 13:22

When I say children, mine are 1 and 3, so do not understand cool

Mumsnut · 12/05/2008 13:24

they're not even ok on children IMHO

barnstaple · 12/05/2008 13:26

My feet love them.I don't care what they look like because my feet love them so much. In fact, my feet are going to marry them and have their babies.

thebecster · 12/05/2008 13:27

No, no, no.

Pretty flipflops for poolside.
Sandals/wedges for town.
Barefoot otherwise.
If active beach holiday, with lots of rock-pool climbing, running around playing frisbee on sharp shingle etc. and you need to wear something to avoid cut feet, then get some reef shoes. They're ugly, but they're sportswear so thereby acceptable when engaged in sportiness (but not otherwise.)

Please don't wear crocs. Not in public. It's upsetting to look at.

They remind me of those cap things you have on your head for highlights, you know, where they pull bits of hair through.

...actually, i suppose anyone with particularly hairy feet could do that.

CocodeBear · 12/05/2008 13:40

Even DH wants some .

donnie · 12/05/2008 13:42

got my dds some fake ones for £2 a pair.

CocodeBear · 12/05/2008 13:44

I got DD1 fake ones from Sainsbos last year, but they looked cheap and nasty compared with the real ones.

I don't think children are allowed out the door in the morning without crocs on round these parts.

There is a chi-chi shoe shop down the road, but it is full of kids trying on Crocs rather than ladies buying Gina.
