Hello,

Can anyone give examples of female celebrities who are growing old naturally, ie not using Botox, fillers, and everything else?

It's for a talk I'm giving to teenage girls on body positivity!

I only have Pamela Anderson so far.

Isabella Rossellini

I agree with Isabella being a wonderful example, especially as someone who was lauded as the 'face of the '80s'. She looks her age, looks very happy with life and is now Oscar-nominated!

It's hard to some up with suggestions as obviously we don't know for sure, but taking the marker of can move their face/has lines and other viable signs of ageing:

Jodie Foster
Annette Benning
Christy Turlington

Of a younger generation, I think Keira Knightley is going down the natural ageing route too.

NovemberMorn · 10/02/2025 12:52

Cameron Diaz looks very different on photos, with good lighting and makeup, she still looks like she did 20 years ago.
Recently on the Graham Norton show she looked her age, far more natural.
She looked happy and relaxed, with an expressional face, so obviously she hasn't had much, if anything, done.
And she looked great.

Kate Middleton has had loads done, it's pretty obvious, surprised by that suggestion. She might have taken a pause recently due to chemo but I would guess as soon as she can, she will be back on it

I thought only her Botox was obvious, and subtle lip filler (which was a good idea as she had no top lip).

I must be naive as I thought she looked like she had no work done. How can you tell about the botox? She has wrinkles, where is it that she will have had it?

The give away with the Botox is the way her wrinkles come and go. So sometimes she has perfectly natural looking wrinkles on her forehead, crow's feet etc when it's worn off a bit and then when she has just had it done, her face is all smooth and unnatural looking

Like this picture for example - https://images.app.goo.gl/YtwM6S9PCcuiG9VR8

In no way does her forehead naturally look like that if you look at other pictures of her on other occasions

The only one I believe.

Kate Middleton... come on!

I'd struggle to believe Kate Middleton has had anything done in the last 5 years.

Kate has an expressive forehead with deep lines as a result. Prior to her cancer, she lost those lines for a while and her eyebrows were lifted. She also lost her crow’s feet. Botox is great for dynamic lines like this (I have it).

Might that be editing of photos though? Like the example of Cameron Diaz, I have seen her most recent film and there must have been very heavy editing of her face in the film as she looks very different to what she looked like on Graham Norton when she was promoting rhe film (and not just a year or so of aging waiting for the film to come out)

PoppyBaxter · 10/02/2025 13:13

Kirsten Dunst. I was quite shocked by her natural face in Civil War. She looks great, but she looks like a normal 40+ year old, and my reaction made me sad as it highlighted that you don't see natural faces like that any more.

I'd like to watch Baby Girl - but won't - because Nicole Kidman, with her stretched and puffy surgery face, couldn't have less sex appeal if she tried. I wish they'd cast a genuinely sexy older woman in the role instead - like Marisa Tomei.

I'll admit to being a complete hypocrite though, as I've recently had my first bit of botox in my forehead and 11s (I'm 40). I love the results and they are subtle enough that neither my husband nor my mum (who would be appalled) have noticed. So to echo other posters, none of us truly knows what anyone has had done.

TheGirlattheBack · 10/02/2025 13:13

As you’re talking to teenagers about body positivity I’m wondering whether they are interested in which older celebrities (male and female) have had anti-ageing treatments? In 30-40 years when they are old enough to care then things will be different, different beauty standards and trends. They think at 50 plus we all look old regardless of whether you’ve had work done or not.

For my teenager the most important body positive message I can give her is that fashions are cyclical and very much trend led and to not do anything extreme to your body to meet current trends. BBL’s, tattoos and lip fillers are currently on trend but those procedures can be/are irreversible and will not be on trend forever.

Cosmetic surgery is a booming industry We need our young people to have a healthy dose of realism about trend led body modification and the long term impact to their mental health.

Christwosheds · 10/02/2025 13:14

The supermodel Paulina Porizkova , have a look at her Instagram, she does talk about ageing and the pressure to have procedures.

There's definitely a lot of editing of Kate's photos, and not just what she does as an amateur 😉I often think she looks a lot older when I see her on TV Vs photos.

But I don't think it's just that, you can see the weird unnatural forehead/eyebrow stuff in lots of photos of her at certain times

WanderingDreamingSpires · 10/02/2025 13:14

Helen Hunt looks her age and that is absolutely fine!!

imip · 10/02/2025 13:15

Renee Zelwigger?

Beetrooty · 10/02/2025 13:15

Annette Bening looks natural, and looks great.
but who knows - she may have had subtle stuff done .
Jodie Foster also

inchargeofnothing · 10/02/2025 12:23

Victoria Coren Mitchell looks beautiful and no where near her age. Perhaps the upside of not being very thin. Also Kirstie Allsopp, Nigella Lawson and the lovely Lucy Worsley.

Nigella Lawson? Seriously??

newrubylane · 10/02/2025 13:21

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 10/02/2025 11:48

I was struck by Keira Knightley in Black Doves and how she has embraced ageing. She has a lined forehead and decidedly unhollywood smile, but is still beautiful.

Yes. Keira looks natural but great. She's roughly the same age as me.

Amanda Seyfreid is too and she looks incredible, but she can definitely still move her forehead a lot (I happened to be watching a video of her earlier), so I think she's just got good genes!

fc123 · 10/02/2025 13:22

Emma Thompson is my hero with her acceptance of aging naturally

ThoroughlyModernNotMillie · 10/02/2025 13:23

whatawonderfultime · 10/02/2025 13:06

I'd struggle to believe Kate Middleton has had anything done in the last 5 years.

As pp has said, she definitely has some lip filler. Look at photos of her when young with her very thin top lip when she smiled( nothing wrong with that at all) and over the past years her top lip is significantly increased in volume and much more visible when smiling.

ThoroughlyModernNotMillie · 10/02/2025 13:25

ocs30 · 10/02/2025 13:16

Nigella Lawson? Seriously??

I know! So ridiculous to think she's had nothing done, with her cheeks full of filler.

MissMoan · 10/02/2025 13:28

Cate Blanchett
Salma Hayek
Jamie-Lee Curtis
Diane Keaton

TERFspice · 10/02/2025 13:28

I guess the examples I'm looking for can have had a bit of work done. I suppose I'm more looking for examples of women looking their age and still looking great.

Pam Anderson is an example I like as I do think she looks her age now, and she looks happier than ever before too.

I was really impressed to see Keira Knightly lookong so natural in Black Doves. She's still as gorgeous as ever but looks like a normal woman in her late 30's. So refreshing to see that for a change.

Me too! I thought she looked good and natural!

RexsSoupCan · 10/02/2025 13:32

sashh · 10/02/2025 12:16

Don't forget teenage girls do not all look like super models. Some do, but I doubt any of them think they do.

I think looking at women who were incredibly beautiful as young women and that is how they got their careers isn't a great start for body positivity.

Mary Berry would be interesting, I bet no teen has ever noticed her smaller hand.

Katie Piper, I know she is not old but she is remarkable.

Amanda Redman has not let her scarred arm limit her.

I agree with this, but obviously don't know the content of the talk. I'd be really interested to hear about it OP if you're willing to share

lol that people are suggesting celebrities like Renee Zellweger and Nigella who are well known for having loads of work done!

TERFspice · 10/02/2025 13:36

Some lovely recent pictures of Pamela, plus Drew Barrymore!
