Feels like unicorn poo - so suggestions welcome.

Wish list is - not going to traumatise anyone wearing around adult brother / parents.

  • Not button up (incompatible with boobs)
  • comes in 18 / proper XL
  • not see through
  • fully covers boob and stomach (so not cropped or low cut)
  • material thick enough that doesn’t highlight every subtle feature of nipple and aureola
  • sleeves - long sleeves, or if short then nearer elbow than armpit.

I have a nightie that has a double layer on the front bust area. I don't know if the company ships to UK, but a shop in town carries them and I see the t-shirt and short set also have the double layer front. It's made of bamboo and is super soft and mine has held up for a few years looking new still.

I know what you mean about not wanting to reveal too much, even to family. I also have a really lightweight robe for when visiting.

Bamboo Sleepshirt

Our bamboo sleepwear is silky soft to the touch and luxuriously comfortable to wear. It is highly absorbent keeping your skin dry while you sleep. Those with sensitive skin will enjoy its hypoallergenic properties and exceptionally smooth non-irritatin...

I wear a soft bra to sleep in, got current ones from Evans - I’m a 34hh and they had some with more coverage. Then if I’m getting up without getting dressed I put on a bed jacket, retro 50s style, and some drapey pj bottoms. Works for me!

I wear mens v neck pure cotton t shirts in summer and m&s long sleeve mens loungewear tops when it's cold. It's the m&s pure cotton waffle loungewear sweatshirt. £22 on the website but I found them in our m&s outlet for £12!

Single50something · 25/01/2025 18:34

I get the next tshirt and shorts ones and they are brilliant. So am sure the long sleeve ones would also be great:)

Lidl sell nice ones. I have also bought a few pairs from Avon in the past.

I don’t know the answer, OP, but I feel your pain. Pyjama designers can fuck right off. Also please can I add pyjama bottoms with no pockets, or pyjama shorts cut so short most of your arse hangs out?

Also, pyjamas bottoms that shrink the 1st time they are washed so end up at ankle level.

Julieju1 · 25/01/2025 20:33

I wear PJ bottoms with a t-shirt style nightshirt, no cold back in the middle of the night. I then throw a cardigan on if I'm wandering around the house.

YeezysBeans · 25/01/2025 20:33

I don't like to sleep in long sleeved tops so can't help with specific items, but I tend to just shop in the day section of clothing for cotton vests or t-shirts that then just live in my pyjama drawer.

I'm quite particular about pj bottoms too so I gave up on buying pyjama sets decades ago!

This!

”loungewear”-y enough you could even answer the door in it

And continue in that manner for night wake ups with small child, early morning chat with father in law etc?

Could you bring a lightweight dressing gown

Good idea!

@ScaryM0nster Since you are staying in houses that are warm, and your own house is warm, perhaps a lightweight dressing gown, to put over your pajamas, can be the solution? Then you will not get too warm, but you won't have to worry about the look of your pj top.

Good luck! I hope you will find a garment that works for you.

pollymere · 26/01/2025 00:29

I generally buy Tesco or Sainsbury's ones.

Roz185 · 26/01/2025 04:55

I have had PJs from M&S, John Lewis and many other brands. However I am now sold Primark PJs. Soft, comfy and ticks all your boxes if you buy the long legged version with tee shirt style top. Nice colours, wash well and cheap enough to have lots of pairs.

Just keep your housecoat next to the bed. Problem solved.

I bow down to your coordination skills, or the integrity of your housecoat.

There is absolutely no way I can do 3yr old interaction in a house cost without flashing a lot.

As a big boobed curvy lady I would very much recommend wearing a vest with inbuilt shelf for a some comfortable boob support and coverage, then you can wear anything over the top. I usually just get the primark ones.
