I watched Black Doves on Netflix and there was Keira Knightley in my mustard yellow scarf. I bought it from M&S about two years ago, which must have been about when it was filmed. I don't look very much like Keira Knightley at all, but now, in my head, every time I put my scarf on, I look exactly like her and am on a spy mission!

This is very niche. The wallpaper in the hallway of Kathy Burkes flat in Gimme Gimme Gimme is the same as my mum had in the living room in the late 70's.

Try again...

We had the same sofa

I was watching Coronation Street about 10 years ago and noticed that Gail was wearing ‘my’ black/grey leopard print top from Whistles.
I sold it on EBay the very next day! 😁

funny that ! Gail also wore a top with blue roses on it which i also owned. She wore it often about 15 years ago 😂

MrsMoastyToasty · 20/01/2025 21:59

@JoanThursday it also appeared (a don't blink or you'll miss it thing) in a property that was featured in Location, Location, Location. The property was being converted from a single house into flats and the woman of the couple didn't like the place and started to cry. The property also happened to be in the next street to where I live!

It's all coming back! (well, has been back for ages I guess).

My parents must have bought that Gplan suite around 1970, I reckon. They got a new one in the late 1990s (not long after they were in del boys flat) and I took the two Gplan armchairs to a rented house. A couple of years later we left them there. No one wanted them, couldn't give them away!

Pam and Mick in Gavin & Stacey had my curtains. They actually had the matching sofa as well (I didn't).

Pam and Mick also had my (Wilko) towel rail.

I loved that top - thought it was quite cool. Then I saw Gail in her kitchen wearing it whilst making the tea and it killed it for me 😂

There’s a dress that Julia wears in Motherland that I own. Think it’s the episode where she resigns from her job. Got it in the Hobbs sale and it is known as “my Motherland dress”. I think I may have seen it on a BBC Breakfast presenter at some stage too!

It has a red top half and black bottom half. Knee length, form fitting.

ayegazumba · 20/01/2025 22:30

My mum had the dressing gown Sonia from Eastenders gave birth in on the sofa when she was 15. Straight in the bin 😂

Cyclingmummy1 · 20/01/2025 22:30

My dad has the jumper Frank Butcher is wearing in the photo Janine has up in the car lot.

notnorman · 20/01/2025 22:40

MrsMoastyToasty · 20/01/2025 18:14

One of the women sitting on the sofa in the bingo advert (I forget which company) has a jumper like mine.
On Call the Midwife there was this fabric hanging up by the door in the Buckle's shop. I had curtains and bedding in the same fabric in my childhood bedroom. The fabric was an M&S design and wasn't available until the mid 70s

I had that too!! 🥰🥰🥰

Not only was Bridget Jones wearing "my" pyjamas in the first film when she's drinking vodka and singing "All by myself" but I genuinely think they are actually my pyjamas. I read an article around the time the film came out about how they'd created Bridget's style and it was saying how they'd mixed up higher end and high street fashion and, to make it more realistic for someone of her supposed income and overlooking the central London flat she can magically afford and age, they'd gone to local charity shops and certain things, such as her PJs in that scene, came from a charity shop. I had donated my old PJs to a charity shop about 6 months before they started filming.
They were red with penguins on.

TheFairyCaravan · 20/01/2025 22:41

DH has got a Next polo shirt that Steve McDonald wears on Coronation Street. I want to put it in the charity bag, but it’s one of his favourites and he doesn’t watch Corrie so he doesn’t understand.

AndThereSheGoes · 20/01/2025 22:57

Danni from Place In The Sun was wearing a dress I own.

It was a years old funky party dress from Oasis that only did the rounds at special occasions. There she was 10 years after I bought it showing a couple round a cheap Spanish, one bed flat in it.

VanillaImpulse · 20/01/2025 23:13

Guinevere Beck from You series 1 was wearing my Topshop dress that I was wearing at least a year previously
(I also still wear it even 8 years on!)

The dinner service "English Renaissance" by Royal Doulton pops up everywhere. It's in Pride and Prejudice, at Netherfield Hall, I'm sure I saw it in the film Young Victoria, and it was in Downtown Abbey. It has lovely shapes. We have 32 place settings if anyone needs any 😄

I have some pieces of my mother's wedding service, "Spanish Garden" by Jessie Tait for Midwinter. Saw that on the new Rivals as well as years ago on Adrian Mole.

I have the same oven gloves (Sainsbury’s , I think - they never get moved) as Roy Cropper and there was a mug from Tesco with Fizz & co used. That appears to have gone.

When we moved in to our last house the living room wallpaper was the same as Father Ted’s bathroom.

Brilliant!!!

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 20/01/2025 23:22

M’y favourite wine glasses crop up in every TV ‘stately home drama’. They’ve been on the table in Downton, Agatha Christie ( both Marple and Poirot) and loads of others for the past thirty years. I think theProp House or similar must have bought the suite around the same time as us, so they get rented out continuously.

I have an evening beaded ‘reticule’ inherited from my DGM which makes regular appearances as well.

CharlotteCChapel · 20/01/2025 23:23

Someone in Midsomer Murders was wearing my dress. I finally lost enough weight to wear it and it had split down the back seam.

Newgreensofa · 20/01/2025 23:58

Just last week Sophie Raworth was wearing the blouse I'd bought in a charity shop last summer - Wyse, I think.

TruthBeautyFreedomLove · 21/01/2025 00:13

Lisa Tarbuck was in a sitcom in the late 90s(?) wearing my favourite French Connection sparkly stripy top. Dot Cotton's house had the same wall paper in her kitchen that was in the lounge of the house I grew up in. A beautiful piece of art that I own was on someone's wall in one of the Escape to the Country type programmes. I was more excited about that than any of the others!

I still have the same coat that Norma Major wore when John won the 1992 election.

Nothing can top this imo

coralsky · 21/01/2025 07:33

There's an incontinence pad advert where a woman is sat on a toilet in a blue green Moroccan style tiled bathroom. I'd just tiled me kitchen with those.

My dad used to own the boat from the Venice boat chase in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, still had the bullet holes in the windscreen. DS now has the Lego version.

This is amazing!

I stand corrected, this is even better than Norma Major's coat
