Excited for this year as I didn't get one last year. Shall we say no spoilers before 7am?

Happy with today’s! I have tried so many leave in treatments and always come back to this. I find that leaving it in for longer than 20 mins makes my hair fluffy? 20 mins for me is optimum, better if I wrap my hair in cling film and put a hot towel on my head for duration of the treatment (I have straight, just below the bra strap length, natural blonde hair that is fine but a lot of it, if that’s helpful to anyone)

You hair is the the same as mine and it makes my hair like candy floss!

Wow, really? I had that with kerastase mask,
candyfloss a great way to describe it, I wonder if that would work for your hair instead!

omega4ever · 03/12/2024 08:35

Not a fan of today's product either... I have short hair and don't like the faffing about.

TENSsion · 03/12/2024 08:42

I’m so pleased with today! It’s exactly what I’ve been hoping for

itsnothingoriginal · 03/12/2024 08:56

Yes today's is good! DD has always had this product out of my calendar but my hair is currently like straw so I'm going to give it a try!

bluebeck · 03/12/2024 09:18

Every year!!

So I have long thick curly hair and this stuff seems like a dreadful faff. Sitting around with wet hair? No thanks.

However, my hair is currently SHIT. I think I have over bleached it 😳 so I am going to bite the bullet and give the elasticiser a go.

Thanks for the warning about 20 minutes max. Will report back!

bigTillyMint · 03/12/2024 09:23

I agree, this is in the calendar every year!

I have always used it after shampoo and before conditioner - it seems to make a bit of difference to my very thick mid-length hair.

HebburnPokemon · 03/12/2024 09:34

Nail varnish - not another red varnish! I didn't get through last years.

Today's - ditto! Another repeat from every single year. Bah humbug.

greywolfie · 03/12/2024 10:05

I have thick curly hair and use a little bit overnight before washing in the morning. Seems to work well.

So you go to bed with wet hair? Or do you mean you ignore the instructions and put it on dry hair?

I could cope with the latter.

Dry hair then wash in morning. Says this on the website

Can I leave Philip Kingsley Elasticizer on overnight?
You can! This miracle hair mask can be left in for 10-20 minutes or kept on overnight for maximum results. If you are someone who prefers to shampoo in the morning, then you might find it is more convenient to apply Elasticizer before bed. Simply apply the deep conditioning treatment and wrap your hair in a microfibre turban overnight to keep it nice and secure. Then rinse well, shampoo and condition as normal the next day.

bluebeck · 03/12/2024 10:56

Yeah I have realised I have loads of this stuff going to waste because I just can’t bear sitting around with wet hair.

It makes sense to at least try to use it on dry hair and see what happens 😄

ThePoshUns · 03/12/2024 11:04

Thanks @greywolfie , I'd rather do that. Thank you.

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 03/12/2024 11:06

PK Elasticizer - never tried previously but feel like I've read lots of comments over the years (probably on the calendar threads!), but like hair conditioning products and happy to stick in the bathroom stash.

Isitfridayyetsophie · 03/12/2024 11:27

I’ve since googled PK because I know a few people in real life who use it and like it, so I’m surprised that the reviews I’ve found show it can be a bit marmite!

I don’t totally saturate my ends when I use it and I’ve definitely used it on dry hair before. I like their elasticiser booster too which is an in shower conditioner

Hope anyone trying it for the first time has success!

raffle · 03/12/2024 12:35

I'm happy to get this again as I've loved it in previous years. For those who don't like sitting with wet hair, here is my top tip - Put hair in a high up ponytail, then only wet this part, apply product and twist up into a bun and secure with a claw grip. No dripping and you can just get on with things until it's time to wash it out 🤩

ThePoshUns · 03/12/2024 12:37

Thanks raffle

Iloveshihtzus · 03/12/2024 12:38

I’ve never used this - always pass on to DD but I might try the overnight on dry hair tip!

CointreauVersial · 03/12/2024 12:47

Those who say they don't like sitting about with "dripping" hair - I find it works best on barely damp hair - I just moisten the ends slightly with a wet comb, just enough to make it a bit easier to spread the product through, then clip my hair back. Have my breakfast, put a wash on.....then jump in the shower and wash hair as normal. No dripping!

cheesychipsontheoche · 03/12/2024 14:04

Love an elasticizer me, happy with this one as it always makes my hair look better

midnightowl · 03/12/2024 17:44

Had the PK Elasticiser in other M&S advent calendars but I am happy to have it again this year.

PonyPatter44 · 03/12/2024 21:13

I'm glad to be here! I had a Liberty advent last year, but it was a bit underwhelming for the price. This year I've gone for M&S, and I'm happy so far. The perfume is really nice, the nail polish will go on my toes (I have BIAB on my fingernails)...but the bloody elasticiser will just go to DD, as every tube of it has done for about the last five years!! Hopefully tomorrow's thing will be exciting 😃

Hudders3 · 03/12/2024 21:55

I won't use the nail varnish, I have already given it away to someone. Then I came home to a beauty box that I subscribe to which had the same nail varnish brand and very similar (if not the same) red included 🤣🤣

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/12/2024 07:28

I'm very happy with today's- I like a moisturiser with SPF
