M&S beauty advent calendar unboxing!

Excited for this year as I didn't get one last year. Shall we say no spoilers before 7am?

@Hudders3 That's right, I remember now thank you! It was black and v pigmented so I gave it to my niece, I feel I'm too old for black now

I feel like I'm in the minority but I've really enjoyed the calendar! I'd have preferred some more make up to try, an eyeshadow shade I wouldn't use or blusher, and probably fewer hair products but I buy it so I get things I'm not aware of and wouldn't buy and to have a surprise every day 😂 I'm not expecting it to replace what I'd usually use anyway. Maybe my expectations are lower than others were, but I'm very pleased I bought it

No I'm good with most of it I think its just lacked a bit of wow factor. Only real duds for me are the nude polish, leg spray, and face mask.

I do like this brand, I have some spray to make your hair smell nice and it's gorgeous. But too many creams! I want some nice makeup

I know it must be hard to get products to suit everyone but this product I assume is for a 'glossy' blow dry, which is a kind of niche thing?

Maybe I'm wrong and I'm just pissed off that this is yet another product I personally won't use!

So so poorly curated…FAR too many creams…I will just be slippy at the end of it 😂…too many repeats (body cream/hair cream…pointless things (leg spray, I’m looking at you)…no make up other than a black eyeliner…this is my last year of M&S I’m afraid! The team responsible for this years calendar in my opinion have done a really poor job!

I'm not going to buy another beauty calendar,. I think I'll spend the money on something I actually need next year.

I’m happy with todays - I have very thick shoulder length hair so anything that helps! Although I’m not so keen on the fragrance (if the same as previous ones)

Re the nude nail Polish, I wasn’t convinced when I saw it, but I applied it yesterday morning and it’s still looking ok, which is a miracle for me (but have been away for the weekend so not doing anything much that might wreck it!) and it looks slightly pinker than I first thought

I always take a look at what is going to be in it and then decide if I'm going fo buy it.

I use this and the wow shampoo and I wanted to try some of the cleansers they have in it so then I know I'm happy enough to get my moneys worth! I've forgotten the exact details by December and I don't check again!!

What made them think another hair cream would be a good idea?!?

'Shall we put in a lipstick? A body oil? An eye shadow? A night cream? A serum? Nah, let's give them ANOTHER hair cream'. Really poor curating.

It is difficult to be excited about another hair product this late in the calendar but it is something I will eventually use.

Unless there is something spectacular in the next two days I won't be buying this one again next year. It looks pretty but more misses than hits for me.

Am rather disappointed with another very similar hair product. I was happy with the Living Proof but this is most definitely surplus to requirements in that I don't need a blow dry spray every day.

Ok, so I've opened the rest of the calendar now as I just felt a bit meh about this mornings.

Agree I think the M&S team have struggled with the curation this year with way too many hair, samey products from previous years and the leg spray is just baffling!!

I also felt short changed with the product sizes in many cases - they could've won me over with full sized Cowshed stuff. BUT there are a couple of winners for me (love the perfumes) and a few things I'm giving away as gifts. Otherwise, I'll try and sell a few bits I don't want on Vinted!

I'm feeling a bit better about the advent calendar, but can't say I've been particularly excited about any of the products and the sizes are generally small.

Its renewed my travel bag with basics but but the sizes of the other products are too small to give them a good go and there's nothing I've felt is a luxury product.

Omg todays is the absolute worst. We have had a sleep cream already and a large one at that.
This is ridiculously small and cheap. I've had a look at tomorrow's to see if they have a final coup de grace. Sadly not.
Definitely will not buy again next year. It's been a complete hotch potch.

I actually laughed when I opened this morning.. it feels like a joke. I'm sure there was another one after the big one..
Gonna try a different brand next year

I'm not fussed about today's but only because I've already got a full size sleep cream waiting to be used.

I received this small size in the well-being beauty box they did back in the Autumn and I loved it, but since starting the full size i'm actually finding it a bit too heavily scented for me.

To try to be positive - the leg spray we had earlier wasn't useful for me so I have to it to my husband as he has restless legs. Last night he told me he thinks it is really helping! It may be a placebo effect but I'm delighted for him as it was ruining his sleep

Today's I am not overly excited about although when I saw the colour of the tube I thought it was maybe the prai eye cream which would have been good 😂

Right after saying all along from about day 5 I think, I after 5 calendars and 2 summer beauty bags I am buying no more, will be looking for a different one next year, really feel like I have wasted money on this.

I hope M&S are looking for comments and take note, really did think you would be on to better items at this late stage (no I have resisted to peek...)

Agreed today's was the worst- the kind of thing you might expect as a sample when you buy another product instore. Looking for recs for a better calendar next year. Maybe Liberty?
