i’m formulating a plan that every time I resist something I want, I’m going to put the money in to a savings account for advent 2025. Ker-ching!

Has anyone ever won one of the vouchers or experiences that some Advents offer (added to a small number of the drawers) , like the Liberty £1000 spend or the JL £500 spend or spa experience? I’ve never heard of a winner…

Somebody on the JL thread won a voucher. I was checking my drawers very carefully after that!

Yes, I had the £50 voucher in my Harvey Nichols 2022 advent.
I spent ages filling an online basket with discount Christmas food and wine goodies before realising it was for in store only!

I got the JL Spa experience - a 45 minute elemis facial. I cashed it in a couple of days ago and can confirm it was incredible 😁

Now I know we're all supposed to be trying to be good in the New Year but this is a nice box for £18 (although shipping is £4.50 unless you spend over £40 or can find a code).

I’ve taken a while notion to order a couple of Byredo samples of perfume to try but no idea where to start and not near any stores anytime soon. What would anyone recommend if my normal scents are

the alcohol free Dior j’adore (white bottle)
jo malone peony blush suede
jo malone nectarine honey blossom and
glossier you doux (white bottle)

I'm afraid I don't know what any of those smell like but having done a recent Byredo sniff test in Selfridges my top 3 are:

Mojave Ghost/Mojave Ghost Absolu (the latter being the stronger version as the former whilst beautiful has poor longevity)- I have a sample of the original and received the Absolu for Xmas along with the body wash.

Mumbai Noise (this is a stronger scent and lasts better than MG) - I have an 8ml sample I bought from Vinted as it was in the Harrods AC.

Rose of No Man's Land (Not usually a rose fan but this one is lovely) - Have only smelt this in store so far.

You get a voucher for a full 50ml bottle so basically the 24 samples just cost you £30 as long as you love one of them enough to purchase.

Or if that sounds like too much choice @Twinsandsome you could go on the fragrantica website, look up the perfumes you like (did a couple here) and then look at the Byredo scents and see what is similar. La Tulipe and Inflorescence look similar to me but I have no idea what they smell like. The discovery set seems like a win to me as you may discover something totally different that you unexpectedly love.

Does Jo Malone last on the skin?

It depends on the scent. I find that Red Roses has great longevity. The Intense colognes last very well too.

Thanks so much @OvaHere and @LightandBreezy i will take a wee look at the sample set that might work out more cost effective. I have been needing a new perfume and would have just bought one of my usuals but might try to find a different one xx

Is anyone doing the Tatcha fukubukuro this year? I only just found out about this and I'm torn because I'm supposed to be on a low/no buy until the summer but I also really like Tatcha. 😈

It starts on the 10th Jan this year and the premise is spend £100 get a free £100 lucky bag or £200 to get a £200 lucky bag. Link below gives an idea of what people got in previous years.

I might also buy a Dewy cream. I used up a 10ml before Xmas and I really like it. Also tempted by the Rice wash but I need another cleanser like a hole in the head really - cleansers are my most stashed product.

The Water cream is another contender, it's lighter so might be good for summer.

I'm also a fan of the cleansing oil and cleansing balm but I did buy a pot of the balm recently. They get used up quickly though because there's not a lot of product for the price. It is a beautiful balm however and doesn't irritate my skin in the slightest as a lot do.

@OvaHere I have a £100 basket ready and waiting, although I do keep swapping things around.
I love the dewy mist so plan on getting that, a lip mask and the dewy travel size set so I can try the rice cleanser and cream.
They also seem to be on TopCashback

I could be in the market for a balm or oil. I wasn’t a fan of the water cream- I do have dry skin though.

But really I don’t need anything ! It seems a good deal though, they rarely have reductions.

Ooh yes I've always fancied trying the dewy mist. I have the lip mask (the clear one not tinted) and it's lovely, I'd say it's probably a bit better than the Laniege masks although the price reflects this.

I absolutely don't need anything but I'm not sure I have the will power to let it go.

I also have dry skin so maybe the water cream would be no good although my skin is less dry in summer.

Let’s not over think - we’ll just get it ??! 😳
