How many winter coats do you have?

For as long as I can remember I have always had a smart wool coat and a casual water resistant puffer style as the absolute minimum. Right now I also have a fleece jacket, a waterproof poncho and a ridiculously impractical but joyful jacket thing.
I need to replace my wool coat and my husband is surprised that I need to and that I can’t rely on what I have. (He’s not being a d*ck and I don’t need to LTB). For context I do hybrid working and do need to look smart often but not always, I also like to wear a smart coat if I am wearing a nice outfit for dinner etc.
So… how does this benchmark and am I being excessive??!

Too many and thinking about it they fit into the phases of my life (mid 50's now). My grandmother always told me to buy good coats (and shoes!) And I mainly have so I keep them.

Off season and occasional coats live in suit carriers hanging on a rail in the loft.

A selection of "good" wool coats possibly 6 I'd need to check, all prob 20+ years old, mix of red, black and charcoal, some midi some long all from my city dwelling corporate days. Includes a full length, charcoal fitted Austin Reed wool coat my ex bought me that I wore to swish dinners in London hotels prob 27 years ago!

A black GAP faux fur lined parker with a great hood that is my current go to warm winter coat.

A couple of black less warm casual coats.

Lots of waterproof and dog walking coats reflecting my current life where I walk the dog for an hour whatever the weather, WFH most days, then drive to work and park outside the building (no 6am city bus commutes!)

For the non hood wearers, live by the seaside and try to keep a brolly up 🤣
