OP posts:
Funfaxfan · 14/07/2024 17:39

3/4 sleeves or long sleeves only.

Trousers must meet the shoe.

Avoid coral and khaki at all costs.

LaCerbiatta · 14/07/2024 17:45

No warm and nos sludgy colours, no oversize top and bottom, one or the other, nothing knee length (very unflattering on my legs), absolutely nothing high waisted, waist length cardigans / jackets don't look great on me, longer is better, eeer.. lots more I'm sure. I have a lot of rules....

LunaNorth · 14/07/2024 17:47

No square necks.
No cold-shoulder tops.
No waterfall cardis.
No brightly coloured tops worn with black trousers.
No cropped wide black trousers.
No combat trousers.
No Skechers.
No tech fabric tops outside the gym, especially not with jeans.

Bohomovies · 14/07/2024 17:49

No grey. No blue. No bright white near my face.

Almost all natural fabrics - linen, cotton, wool, silk.

No artificial leather.

No skinny jeans or trousers. They just don’t suit me.

Hardly any patterns apart from check or herringbone.

steelingmyself · 14/07/2024 17:49

Wear something that makes me feel good that day.

Ditto.

KirstenBlest · 14/07/2024 17:56

No cropped trousers and no 3/4 length sleeves.
Jackets, trousers, skirts and dresses must have pockets.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/07/2024 17:57

No leggings.

No beige.

Natural fibres where possible.

No pleather.

No cut outs.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 14/07/2024 18:00

No high necks

No square necks

No frills or puff sleeves

No round neck cardigan or jacket

Nothing which has been given shape by running elastic or a belt through the middle of a straight piece of fabric . Straight-cut shifts or T shirt dresses fine, a dress shaped in with darts is fine but gather it in via waist elastic (which invariably comes in the wrong place ) and I look like a sack of spuds

And unlike @Bohomovies, grey, blue and white are my go to colours for tops . I'm guessing we have very different colouring .

10weekcountdown · 14/07/2024 18:03

No ditsy print
No midi dresses
Nothing with puff sleeves or tiers
Only wear black with lighter colours
No to cream, yes to white ( cream makes me look ill)
No to tankinis, yes to bikinis. And this is from a middle aged size 14/16
Only leather or suede shoes.
No false nails, hair, lips, etc

GrimDamnFanjo · 14/07/2024 18:07

V necks only
Brights with black and navy for neutrals
No pleather for bags shoes etc
No patterns

BobbinThreadbare123 · 14/07/2024 18:13

Everything is black. No running trainers unless you're running/gym. Leggings are not trousers!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/07/2024 18:16

No uncomfortable shoes
No leather or suede or silk (vegetarian)
Nothing that shows my bum or crotch
No braless (okay with a Uniqlo built in bra top)
Nothing that shows cleavage in the day ( evening or swimsuit ok)
No turquoise or yellow don;t like them)
Unless it;s a cigarret pant/capri pant style , don't like half mast jeans or trousers
At Christmas , no slogans like TinselTits or Prosecco o'clock on my jumper

ruethewhirl · 14/07/2024 18:17

No round-necked T-shirts, just v unflattering on me. Other women with big boobs might be able to rock them but I can't.

Nothing that has elastic just below my boobs to give 'shape'. I've learned from bitter experience that on me it just makes the whole top spring up towards my chest leaving me with a bare midriff that I definitely can't carry off.

No sleeveless or cap-sleeved tops, my upper arms are a disaster area thanks to yo-yo dieting. (If there was one thing I could go back and tell my younger self...)

No cropped wide-legged trousers, I don't think many people can carry them off.

No one-shoulder tops, they flatter virtually no one imho.

Jumbojem · 14/07/2024 18:17

Nothing black, although I've bought black shorts and jeans this year. So let's say no black tops.
Actually now I'm older a rule I'm trying to stick to is to be more opened minded about clothes and not let rules dictate...

Citrusandginger · 14/07/2024 18:20

Wear what suits me and smile.

KeebabSpider · 14/07/2024 18:27

Either legs or cleavage never both
No to ankle length skirts
No to pastel colours I look like a corpse
If its not a dark colour forget it
No to stripes in any direction
No to scoop neck or V neck
No to heels
No lace
Always buy the best bra, boots and bag you can afford

Rainbowsponge · 14/07/2024 18:28

Colours: black, charcoal, ecru, claret, pale pink, rose pink, periwinkle blue, tangerine, deep olive, navy

I absolutely cannot wear yellow, most pastel shades, anything warm/sludgey coloured or tan

I avoid jeans like the plague as I have a small waist but flat bum so they look ridiculous. Some stretchy knit style trousers and linen shorts look nice but that’s about it so I stick to skirts.

No big logos like ‘ROXY’ or similar, no canvas mock Converses, no cold shoulder tops, no high heels, no ‘summer tops’ (anything frilly/camisole and polyester looking)

RandomUsernameHere · 14/07/2024 18:34

No sandals of any sort ever, except at the beach or by the pool.
No floral prints.

wowzw · 14/07/2024 18:44

no jeans, no zip waists, no patterns, no sportswear for daywear, no fake lashes, extensions or eyebrows, skirts just above knee or below (I'm mid 50's!) no backless or cut out dresses or tops, no visible logos or slogans, no fluorescent clothing, no high fashion tik tok trend like ankle socks with sliders, no crocs, no false nails

GettingStuffed · 14/07/2024 18:49

Patterns on top or bottom not both.

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 14/07/2024 18:50

Jewellery can make an outfit along with a good pair of shoes or boots, and never save anything for best (because since covid I won't wear it otherwise).

SprigatitoYouAndIKnow · 14/07/2024 18:51

No frills
No bows

Echobelly · 14/07/2024 18:54

Tops with leggings must always cover the arse (except at gym)

As am an awakward shape (small boobs, relatively big stomach) - no wrap dresses, no dresses with a belt feature, sadly no shirt dresses

No dresses or tops that are gathered under bust - always make me look pregnant

Basically short a-line or slightly high-waisted with skater skirt dresses work best

No sleeved long dresses with big prints (as I'm barely over 5ft)

WTAFisthisnonsense · 14/07/2024 18:55

Look in the mirror and be honest. If it looks crap, return it.
