Vinted haul update!

Shoes are GORGEOUS! They're footglove and feel so comfortable but not loose. They'll be a winter staple, I'm going to waterproof them this weekend.

Trousers. Linen so a bit thin. Most importantly they don't fit. Too small all over. They're M&Co and a 24 but no. I'll be reselling them.

The two Manners tops are great. I thought the Bardot one was wrong when I tried it yesterday. It I'm giving it another go today and now it's warmed up a bit 🤏🏻 ta fitting better!

However, I'm thinking about making some other things with a Manners kind of vibe but not copyright infringement obviously! - she's a small business, she deserves to make a living, but I can't really afford her prices. And it's a lot to risk if they don't fit or aren't the look I wanted.

So I'm still looking for nice tweedy trousers!

Soccermumamir · 14/09/2024 17:37

Jumping on the vinted haul lol
Bought a mustard coloured winter wool coat, brand new F&F £35, I got it for £15 😊
Also bought a mustard colour jumper, brand new - just waiting for delivery.

Popped to Primark and bought a striped cream and black cardigan and a checked flannel shirt. Both lovely. Bought some more black tights so I can wear my skirts and biker boots, which I'm looking forward to. Also purchased some autumn decorations for the house - my favourite time of the year 😁🧡🧡🍂🍁

Dollyparot200 · 15/09/2024 02:52

I've just got these in the sale I thought I could wear with my cardigans fasten up. I'm going to check out vinted when I get paid I.d love to find a wool coat on there

Oh clever people who live in my phone - I’m looking for a pair of cool Mary Jane shoes. I’m a 42/43 so an 8/9 and need a wide fit. Where does one go to get something that doesn’t look like my grannie (god rest her soul) would have worn??? I’ve looked at simply be, but I’ve never had shoes from them and I worry they might be glorified Primark and rip my feet to shreds. I live in trainers (new balance/vans) and my only other ‘shoes’ for winter are chunky loafers from M&S (wide fit).
Where else can I look?

OhRex · 16/09/2024 12:36

Looking at things like this

I have a pair from new look that I've had for about 7 years now and they get their use each autumn/winter.
Have a good look on new look.
Also wear really thick sock with them around the house the first week you get them, break them in a bit.
Schu I think it's spelt also have some wide fit Mary Jane's in larger sizes!

Lwrenn · 16/09/2024 20:27

Hi pals! does anyone have a decent recommendation for thick black tights that cover a B belly? Size 18/20?
It's still weird weather here, so I'm still sweating in wide leg trousers and maxi dresses one minute and then freezing the next 😂

ChishiyaBat · 16/09/2024 20:39

Schuh is a good ahout, there are loads of different styles and fittings on there @Lwrenn @OhRex

I live in 60denier black tights, I used to rate asda, but all the supermarket ones are shite these days. No stretch anymore and so awkward fitting. The last lot I had were from morrisons, but they are rubbish too.

Evenstar · 16/09/2024 20:41

@OhRex these shoes are more expensive, but as someone with wide feet who has had a bunion and plantar fasciitis in the past I cannot recommend them highly enough https://www.widerfitshoes.co.uk/womens-wide-fit-touch-strap-flat-shoes-gull

They also do a trendier style with a sole more like Doc Martens https://www.widerfitshoes.co.uk/womens-wide-fit-mary-jane-shoes-midhurst

The sizing is different I take a size 6 instead of 7, but there is an explanation on their website.

At weekend I saw a girl in a bar who was likely a size 16. Very curvaceous. She had a leopard print maxi / midi skirt on with chunky boots and a ribbed black knitted vest type top on. She looked amazing. It wasn't tucked but was not long so it looked really neat. The ribbed structure meant it was stretchy not clingy and being knitted, not jersey it was lovely and textured. The ribbing was in wide stripes. What on earth do I search for by way of a top like this? Is it the knitted bit that's key? Or ribbed ? She gave me hope along with you lot that I can dress this body better

lingmerth · 16/09/2024 23:03

@Lwrenn I don't wear tights much but do have a pair of Snag tights that I wear on the odd occasion. . Have had them several years and they fit really well. Might be worth investing in a few pairs. Not the cheapest but good quality.

I would try Rib knit vest top, wide rib knit vest top, that sort of thing. You can do this we all look amazing no matter our size!

@Lwrenn I've a pair of snags that wash so well and are like new every wash that I'd definitely recommend those. Back in my 20s I swore by boots own tights. Do they even make them now?! 😳

TragicMuse · 17/09/2024 07:37

Oh Boots own tights used to be fantastic!

Snags for tights, or better tights or big bloomers company (I think).

Snags have the best range of colours and patterns.

Lwrenn · 17/09/2024 12:36

Funnily enough I'm going to boots later! If I see any I'll let you know!

But failing that, snags it is! Good snags really do the most for us of tums and chub rub 😂

How are we all doing friends? I wish there was a way to tag everyone to check in on our lovely lot!

@ChishiyaBat have you seen the latest homewares George are doing? Some bat things, made me think of you!

I'm supposed to be going chester zoo next month and if I can brave the smell I'll go visit the bat cave for you 😂

Dollyparot200 · 17/09/2024 13:24

I'm doing good got 3 nightshirts then 4 days off to do course work. Hubby is having hip op soon. Trying not to buy all the cute things I see recommended on here!

Dollyparot200 · 17/09/2024 13:25

Shifts even 😴

OhRex · 17/09/2024 14:48

Thanks for all the recommendations- am off to do some important internet research! Todays outfit is first time on - from brand called Turtledove London. Very bloody comfy. My kids HATE it which is also a bonus 😂 Spooky home bits in Poundland today too 🎃

GoingDownDown · 17/09/2024 17:54

I used to wear Snags but got fed up of them never having the colour I want, I’ve switched to Popsy and Better, both very comfy.

@OhRex that dress is fab!

Mary Janes, these are a very marmite recommendation but I think we’re good with marmite suggestions here! Hot Chocolate MJs are meant to be super comfy https://www.hotchocolatedesign.co.uk/collections/flats-for-women

No I haven't seen those @Lwrenn I will check it out later. Although my other half bought me a new bat for our 25th anniversary last week, there's always room for more🦇😁.
Aww I love bat caves, they are amazing creatures, super important pollinators too! Hope you have a great day seeing all the animals.
