Here are the jeans

https://www.marksandspencer.com/carrot-leg-jeans/p/clp60680676#intid=pid_pg1pip31g2r15c1

Has anyone tried them on, do they run true to M&S normal sizing?

I tried them, they seemed true to M&S sizing. But I found the carrot jeans looked and fitted better. And £10 cheaper as another poster said.

FatElvis · 07/06/2024 15:22

OK thanks 😊 I will try the carrot ones on the recommendation of you and the previous poster, the SM ones are still OOS anyway.

WishIWasYourSexyBacon · 07/06/2024 16:00

Their normal sizing is often way out tbf. Same jeans in a different colour, one fitted the other colour didn’t, & the last trousers I tried on there were miles too big even though I’d sized down twice already. It was so frustrating I left empty handed.

LBB2020 · 07/06/2024 16:07

I bought some of the carrot jeans today and am really pleased with them. I’m between a size 10 and 12 with a big butt, thighs and smaller waist. The size 10 is a perfect fit

Deargodletitgo · 07/06/2024 16:08

Only goes to a 20 and it's all a bit...blah.

Nothing distinctive, original.

Vicliz24 · 07/06/2024 16:14

I bought the macrame bag . It arrived into my local store this morning. It's really pretty but I did have a £25 voucher and needed a new holiday bag . I don't think I'd have paid £49.50 for it but for £25 I like it .

SmallestSheepdogforTeenySheep · 07/06/2024 16:26

looked in Stratford E20 this morning at 9 and there were hardly any jeans. Looked again at lunchtime and there were loads in all sizes. I set up an alert for my size if it comes back online and I haven’t.

I have bought a 12 regular as that’s my standard M&S size. Took a 14 and 12 into the changing room. The 12 are huge but I had no time or energy to get dressed and go back out into the shop for a 10. I wanted them baggy and I’ll have to wear a belt and they may go back.

What has happened to M&S sizing? I’ve got 12 and 14 from a few years ago that fit me but their 12 now are massive.

I was only really interested in the jeans as the rest isn’t my style but it all looks better in real
life than in the photos. But all the toos look cropped. Sienna is short, maybe less than 5’4” so maybe they’re ok on her? Is that how it works?!

Cantonet · 07/06/2024 17:05

I bought the carrot ones last week & hated them. They were really unflattering & were too narrow at the bottom. I normally love a barrel shape. I'm hoping the Sienna ones will be better

Moveoverdarlin · 07/06/2024 19:02

I’ve bought the quilted jacket, it’s not arrived yet though.

RampantIvy · 07/06/2024 19:11

Nope. Nothing there for me, but I don't think I am the target customer.

I already have a striped shirt very similar to the one advertised. I bought it from Sainsbury's during lockdown.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/06/2024 19:22

All of it looks like stuff I wore in the 80's Confused

The broderie, the mesh vest, the ruffles, slip dresses

I'd look fucking mental wearing all that again now

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 07/06/2024 19:59

I've bought the white lace up wide lag trousers and the jeans. I'll pick them up in store at the weekend.

The rest was far too see/through, cropped and basically for non-boobed people for me to even contemplate.

I'm clearly not the target market.

NicolaDeLaHaye · 07/06/2024 22:58

I like the mini dress. I've got something similar that I've had years and came from Peacocks.

I like the printed trousers and shirt but would wear them separately or it's going to look like pyjamas.

WhompingWillows · 08/06/2024 05:18

The macrame bag - the one that’s going for mega bucks on eBay- is currently back in stock.

WhereAreWeNow · 08/06/2024 07:29

I bought the stripe shirt because I really like the smocked shoulder detail. Would have liked to get it in pink but they sold out quickly.

Athena51 · 08/06/2024 14:30

I ordered the broderie blouse, it arrived 10 minutes ago. I tried it on. Roared with laughter at what I looked like in it (as if I was cos-playing a mediaeval peasant woman) and packed it up to return Grin
Epic fail, I should just remember that I'm a minimalist and not branch out too far...

QualityDog · 08/06/2024 14:32

You'll be sorry if you have to dress as a medieval peasant though @Athena51. Probably on Monday you will get a letter home from school

On Tuesday, please send your child dressed as a medieval peasant

And you will be dooooomed.

Thanking God that DS is an adult Grin I actually don't know what I was thinking, I've learnt my lesson and will slink off back to Cos. Thank God DP didn't see it, he'd have wet himself laughing.

ChockysChimichanga · 08/06/2024 16:16

I’ve actually just bought the macrame bag too - I didn’t notice it on first inspection but now I have I quite like it. I’m currently on holiday though so won’t get my jackets and bag until I come back.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 09/06/2024 15:12

Picked up the jeans today. Oh my... they look awful! Strange excess of material at the crotch gives a terrible 'look at my vulva' vibe.

I tried them on for DD just in case I was being paranoid and she just burst out laughing. So they're going straight back.

The white lace up trousers are good. Lovely thick material. I've been trying to get a pair of white trousers that aren't see through. But they have a button fly so I may have to return. I can see me wetting myself while I desperately try to get the buttons undone 🙈

D20 · 09/06/2024 15:35

I picked up my blouse and shoe boots today. Very happy with them both. The broiderie blouse is lightweight without looking cheap and much more of an antique cream in person. I’m wearing the shoes in the house at the minute. A bit clumpy and I’m only a size 3 so might be too much for someone less hobbit.

Gingertam · 09/06/2024 15:42

I bought the western shoe boots. Love them. They are so comfy and well made.

missfliss · 09/06/2024 15:55

Gutted as really wanted the jacket ( the quilted one)

stillavid · 09/06/2024 16:07

I ordered quite a bit to try on and am only keeping the jeans which I really like. Regarding sizing - I am a 25 waist in higher end jeans and got the size 6 and they fit well so I would say the sizing is quite generous which I would expect from m &s.

The quilted jacket looked a little twee on me - I had also ordered one from free people which I preferred but it was more £££.

The khaki jacket was too boxy on me.

Overall was not impressed.

MarsdenRockCrumbled · 10/06/2024 13:24

Well parcel arrived....

The beaded vest is lovely and the beading looks more expensive than it is, the vest underneath is ok, but.....its way to short and Im not tall/long in the body, going back.

The silver sandals, they were rather shabbily made, glue and rough edges all over but the worse thing was I could not even undo the clasp and was not wanting to be to rough as the elastic on the side of the fastener is quite thin, going back.

The cream pointy broderie blouse (£45) (its a deep cream not light) was well erm, an rather odd shape, the picture do not show how big the sleeves are, made me look ridiculous, again short in the body, going back.

And the statement lace trim blouse (£55), at first looked great, lace is nice and loved the colour, but the pleating on the shoulder inside to 'puff' up the sleeve, just did not look right. The neck was way to wide on me, and the front under the lace was not stitched correctly and bunched up a little, but although slightly longer than the other blouse, again it was too short for me, going back.

So all in all not good for me.
