Knickers for a size 16 with an apron belly what shape to go for

Largely due to 3 babies and 3 c sections and a love for cake on mat leave 😦 what shape are best please? I find I either have midi ones that go and tuck themselves in my belly for the day or knickers I wore after surgery that tuck themselves under my boobs!

I like to size up in “high leg” style so they cover the apron but don’t feel so much like granny knickers.

Beautifulbythebay · 03/06/2024 19:12

Primark do a pack of 3 stretch ones for a fiver..black or flesh colour.. On a hanger in the underwear section with the packs and body shaper stuff.

henlake7 · 03/06/2024 19:13

I just go for regular high waist briefs....nothing worse then stretching and having your knicks roll underneath your belly!😄

JustCantBeBothered · 03/06/2024 19:15

OK so high waist or high leg not full brief (They seem enormous)

M&S Flexifit Shorts are the ONLY pants I buy these days (size 16 and ample of tum)!

Hello my figure twin.
On the basis of ‘buy cheap buy twice’ these days I buy only Sloggi. My every day pants are Sloggi Romance in black. So soft and stretchy and light.

YorkNew · 03/06/2024 19:35

I use to wear M&S high leg or midi in a pack of 5 in a size bigger when I had an apron.
I think the midis may have a new name now.

JustCantBeBothered · 03/06/2024 19:38

@yorknew thank you. Now I want to know how you got rid of the apron!

I wear Modibody all month with light protection for the main part, and thicker for periods. It's no different to wearing a party liner. Stocked up on high rise size 16s just last week. They are £17 per pair but worth it.

JustCantBeBothered · 03/06/2024 19:40

Thanks everyone, I'm having a look as you suggest them. Looks like m&s are popular. Sloggi look great but are definitely more pricey. Offers on their website ATM though

I get the asda full briefs, own brand pack. They sit on my waist.

Silvertree188 · 03/06/2024 19:48

M&s Good move 4 pack shorts fabulous im very similar shape to you .

YorkNew · 03/06/2024 19:54

I had it chopped off, a tummy tuck, I hated it. I waited until my youngest DC was 18, saved up and decided it needed to go.

JustCantBeBothered · 03/06/2024 19:59

@YorkNew ah good for you 😊 bloody hate mine too, I get I'm overweight (and trying to shift weight) but the c sections have definitely played their part, thank goodness my kids are cute 😂😂

I like M&S high leg ones, come as a pack of 3 for about £14 I think. I'll try and find a link!

CandiedPrincess · 03/06/2024 20:02

I really want to invent a pair of knickers that lift an apron belly. I feel so uncomfortable in that area, like I want to wedge something under it!

lovemycbf · 03/06/2024 20:03

Marks and Spencers full briefs that come in a multi pack are the way to go as they are so comfortable, not glamorous in any way but you won't regret it 🤣

JustCantBeBothered · 03/06/2024 20:05

I think that's another issue tbh, why are suitable pants so ugly 🫣 do they think we don't deserve nice colours / patterns 😂

I have this problem too. I am a great granny now, both of my two children born by c-section, I the long off days when you got opened up by the vertical incision. I had to start wearing high waist knickers then as the bikini ones cut into my scar, and still have an apron.
I don't grumble as I now have five grandchildren and two great grandchildren who would not have existed if I had not had c-sections

JustCantBeBothered · 03/06/2024 20:19

Thank you @nildesparandum and congrats on your lovely big family 🥰 I know I'm not alone, it's just the downside of the process. Don't regret it for second 😃
