Knickers for a size 16 with an apron belly what shape to go for

JustCantBeBothered · 03/06/2024 19:11

Largely due to 3 babies and 3 c sections and a love for cake on mat leave 😦 what shape are best please? I find I either have midi ones that go and tuck themselves in my belly for the day or knickers I wore after surgery that tuck themselves under my boobs!

Google clear amazon browsing history - takes you to the right bit. Zap.

M&S are doing high leg shapewear knickers the flatten your apron! £10 for two pairs. I bought them by accident but they are really good and I’m going to get more.

M&S Flexifit Shorts are the ONLY pants I buy these days (size 16 and ample of tum)!

These have the softest trim and are so comfortable

Picoloangel · 05/06/2024 07:57

I wear these super high waisted ones that someone recommended on here. I really like them and they cover a multitude of sins and don’t give a line under clothing https://amzn.eu/d/5EHCR6A

Thanks everyone, I'm having a look as you suggest them. Looks like m&s are popular. Sloggi look great but are definitely more pricey. Offers on their website ATM though

Sloggi are expensive but they're worth it.

You never have to throw them out. You can wash them a million times and they're as good as new!

I've got the same figure as you, after 4 CS.

If you buy your Sloggi from Ambrose Wilson, you can always get a discount code.

Investinmyself · 05/06/2024 14:02

I get Sloggi off Amazon in multi packs they are often discounted.

LindorDoubleChoc · 05/06/2024 21:05

I do agree about Sloggis. I have some that are 5+ years old and still going strong.

starsinyourpies · 05/06/2024 21:39

If you want to treat yourself a bit this is what I wear soooo comfy and high rise but not granny pants! I'd say L is 14-16

I'm a big knickers fan. I got tired of anything else just rolling down, even some supposed high rise ones, and digging into the bottom of my belly. I like the John Lewis Anyday ones as they're much better made than the M&S version are, these days. I find the fit of sloggi really weird - like they're made for women with arms instead of legs as that elastic is so tight.

Yes I find this, I love the simple shape of Sloggis but the leg holes are tiny. Even when I was a size 6 I had to size up as they dig in at the front top of the leg. Now I am. 10-12 I have tried even two or three sizes bigger but the leg holes… still not comfortable. I’ve given up on them now.

I've bought a few of these from Amazon, they just slightly smooth my silhouette. Quite a few colours:-

I'm in love with the Amazon Wirrarpa knickers!

JustCantBeBothered · 08/06/2024 18:40

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm leaning towards wirarpa ones because of the popularity but am torn between the standard ones and the higher rise ones (which looks boob high!)

Has everyone found them true to size - there's a few reviews that say size up. I'm a 16-18 I'd say for trousers but prefer a looser fit

I have both Wirapa style and the high waisted are v high waisted. I like them because under a skirt or dress they give a good smooth line. I think they’ll be v hot on a super warm day though.!

I’m a size 12 and ordered a medium. I hate tight underwear and these are a good fit. Often when I size up underwear v baggy but these aren’t.

I always used to buy M and S but I really prefer these.

These are the less high waisted option https://amzn.eu/d/22bUwp6

Lurking. M&S did sumptuously soft ones which have lace on the bum and high waist, big knickers but surprisingly flattering and comfortable
Obviously being M&S they discontinued them, called them body soft and made a totally different shit product

cassie2and2 · 09/06/2024 08:45

but why do they come in assorted colours, 3 pack of white or black or whatever, please M&S let us choose.

maddiemookins16mum · 04/06/2024 18:41

I used to buy the Sloggi full briefs but Bon Marche (I know sorry), do some that are identical, pack of three for half the price of Sloggi.

I'm a long time Sloggi fan and I was excited to try the Bonmarche ones when I found them a few months ago, but I found that they were so tight around the waist. I even sized up but the elastic nearly cut me in half 😩

I'm back to buying the Sloggi control full briefs wherever I find them at a discount - most recently La Redoute.

My DM always used to swear by Sloggi but she prefers M&S of this type now.

I go for a high rise short which sits at my belly button. Good for vpl too https://www.marksandspencer.com/5pk-cotton-lycra-printed-high-rise-shorts/p/clp60588153?intid=mobile_app_pdp_share

Me too - they are so comfy.

I love these too! Although they don't seem to last as long as my other pants (one has a hole in maybe 8 months of rotation- just me?). They are very comfy though so will likely suck it up an buy some more.

Primark do a pack of 3 stretch ones for a fiver..black or flesh colour.. On a hanger in the underwear section with the packs and body shaper stuff.

Late to the party but these are perfect pants

SuperGinger · 09/06/2024 16:52

I have bought every pair of M&S pants mentioned but I've recently been disappointed, some flexifit pants lost the fit part and fell down. I tried the sloggi ones mentioned on here too but I didn't like them either on the legs. I prefer hipster shorts so I literally just ordered some stripe and state ones to try as they were a bit less boring, they haven't arrived yet. I'm more of a cotton person than a modal person but I'll see.
