Knickers for a size 16 with an apron belly what shape to go for

Largely due to 3 babies and 3 c sections and a love for cake on mat leave 😦 what shape are best please? I find I either have midi ones that go and tuck themselves in my belly for the day or knickers I wore after surgery that tuck themselves under my boobs!

Personally I'm not so keen on M&S anymore as they don't last as long as they used to and the gusset is narrower than it used to be. My favourite is Stripe & Stare high rise. They are not cheap but last ages and so incredibly comfortable. I have a subscription so get a random colour every month and am slowly replacing all my old M&S and Next knickers with these ones. If you have a subscription or buy one of their multi offers, they are £12.50 each. Worth every penny in my opinion!

I like the TU Sainsbury's midi ones. Maxi for under dresses but midi for under trousers. Cheaper than M&S and I find they don't cut into the top of my legs so much.

Edit: Ignore the Marks automatic link.

I was sceptical, but on the recommendation on another thread here, bought some wirarpa high waist cotton underwear on Amazon.

They are so comfortable, wash well and are just brilliant. I ordered more only last week. Love them.

Yes I have these!
I love them!

ThisIsWhatIDo · 04/06/2024 11:05

These are soooooo comfy

edit I didn't see ScrapeMyArse had recommended them too

HIGH RISE BRIEFS

MargaretBall · 04/06/2024 11:10

The wirarpa ones mentioned above , best thing I have ever been persuaded to buy by Mumsnet

JustCantBeBothered · 04/06/2024 11:38

Thanks all. Are they these high rise ones or full coverage?

Sorry I can't work out if these are the same, as there is a big price difference

I'm a fan of Boody midis. They come up to not far below my belly button so there's no rolling down, plus there's a decent amount of gusset, plus bamboo is environmentally friendly.

SoEmbarrassed2024 · 03/06/2024 19:27

Same here

They lose their shape very quickly and fall down all the time.

PickAChew · 04/06/2024 13:14

I'm a big knickers fan. I got tired of anything else just rolling down, even some supposed high rise ones, and digging into the bottom of my belly. I like the John Lewis Anyday ones as they're much better made than the M&S version are, these days. I find the fit of sloggi really weird - like they're made for women with arms instead of legs as that elastic is so tight.

AxolotlEars · 04/06/2024 13:50

5 c-sections....pants are as big as possible from M and S 🤣

Beautiful3 · 04/06/2024 14:02

High waisted knickers from m&s were brilliant for me.

starfishmummy · 04/06/2024 14:57

High waist here, like @nildesparandum I have a vertical c section scar (which was for medical reasons even though the horiizontal ones were a thing ). I've recently started wearing more silky feeling ones (still stretch fabric, some aort kf synthetic) which make me feel better than the cotton m&s ones I'd been wearing. They're not shape wear but just feel a nicer fit, not baggy. And they have loads of lace and bright non granny ish colours.

Hoglet70 · 04/06/2024 17:21

Tesco full briefs are the comfiest things ever made and lets be honest, once you reach a certain age, you look better in big pants!

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 04/06/2024 17:34

I bought Wirarpa a few years ago on a MN recommendation and love them. They’re the only pants which have never disappeared up my bottom and I’ve tried loads. They’re big pants though, and do take a while to dry (unless you put them in the dryer, which I do).

maddiemookins16mum · 04/06/2024 18:41

I used to buy the Sloggi full briefs but Bon Marche (I know sorry), do some that are identical, pack of three for half the price of Sloggi.

TopBun · 04/06/2024 19:36

Wirapa fan here - I threw away all my old, uncomfortable knickers, and now only have Wirapas. I will never be uncomfortable again.

JustCantBeBothered · 04/06/2024 20:03

@TopBun is that the plain above belly button ones or the high waist ones with stripes (like y fronts 😂) so many recommendations on here I'm tempted to give em a go. Thanks

Wirapa from Amazon. I bought them after seeing on here and they are really comfy/ flattering

Would you mind saying which style you recommend, please? They look great but I’m finding the choices a bit overwhelming.

LindorDoubleChoc · 04/06/2024 21:00

RIGHT! ABSOLUTE EMERGENCY!!!

I clicked on the link to the Amazon big pants without realising that I am still logged on to my work account (rather than my personal account).

So now these gigantic knickers are going to show in the browsing history to anyone from my work who looks at the company Amazon account. They are all men aged 15 to 40 years younger than me! Shock Shock Shock.

How the hell do I get them off the browsing history?

OMG please.
