This woman is a talented goddess and I'm so disappointed by how she has been styled for the Brigerton promos.
I feel like a lot of stylists cannot cope with a petite curvy woman, it's so annoying.
This woman deserves all the beautiful clothes!!

Some real ignorant posts here on how different dress sizes can look on different heights/builds. God forbid someone wearing a size 10 doesn't look like society's idea of "slim".

mollyfolk · 23/05/2024 10:05

She meant a 10 series 1 of Derry girls. I’m 5,1 and a similar size (not a 10!) but unfortunately without her lovely hourglass shape 😢. She isn’t plus size / she’s an ordinary sized woman.

Her looks are hit or miss. But that’s her style. She is very adventurous and she challenges the idea that we need to always dress ourselves to look smaller - to minimise our completely ordinary sized bodies. It’s one of the many reasons that I love her.

Yes, a lot of people on the thread seem to be assuming that every woman ‘should’ dress to make herself look slimmer.

Upinthenightagain · 23/05/2024 10:14

She may well wear a 10. She looks to be incredibly short. My ten year old daughter is the same height as her. A size ten would be huge on her. A ten is bigger than you think on that sort of height because you’ve got more fabric to play with that you’re not using in the length.
Posters saying she’s an 18-20 are absolutely bitchy. She’s nothing like that size. She looks nice on most of the pics I’ve seen of her, some of the outfits like the red riding hood with gold spiky bits are a bit questionable but if she’s enjoying experimenting good on her.

The circumfrence of a dress, is the circumfrence 🙃

What’s an ordinary sized woman?

She looks a lot bigger than most women I see, and has a lot of body fat.

Her body is her business but we shouldn’t be normalising that’s amount of body fat by calling it ordinary.

I am not really. My personal preference is not for that type of style unless for the Met. I like sleek and classic on everyone, tall, short, slim, plump.

I think it's ok to say that rather than be all " Yass brave kween" all the time.

dudsville · 23/05/2024 12:14

I hope NC doesn't see this thread.

Upinthenightagain · 23/05/2024 12:53

I hope if she does see this thread she only takes notice of the positive comments. I’m sure she hasn’t got where she has without some confidence in herself. She looks great and it’s nice to see different shaped women being the romantic heroine. I’ve yet to see us very tall, not so skinny ladies represented but you never know…

KateMiskin · 23/05/2024 12:59

Why? Are we only allowed to say positive things about Nicola's style? It's really infantilising. Especially given we are really criticising her stylist.

JosiePosey · 23/05/2024 13:16

The stylist is just as bad. That red oversized jacket dress above and weird shoes look like someone has tried to dress her in 'oversize' to make her look smaller, as do a few of the other outfits tbh.

I was referring to all the comments and underlying negativity about her not being a size 10

The average sized woman is a size 16! So it is ordinary.

@SabreIsMyFave my bad on mentioning the word curvy, I had no idea there would be a multitude of posts on about her body, when the topic of the post was stylists in the style and beauty forum and admiration for her work.
But yes you're right I can't control what people say, but it's not what I hoped.

Bless you OP. You are a kind soul unlike some of the biatches on here!

ODFO - she is short in stature and this is her natural build. She looks very healthy to me and her BMI / fat composition is her business- not yours!

Now go and take your fat shaming ass elsewhere.

Yes and she wears the same circumference of dress as someone who is six foot and a size 10 and probably looks slimmer. Doesnt mean they can't possibly share the same size.

Bearpawk · 23/05/2024 19:56

"Posters saying she’s an 18-20 are absolutely bitchy. She’s nothing like that size "

See this is more like a fat shaming comment to me. Why would a size 18 be used as an insult ?
Can't we just matter of factly refer to different sizes without negative connotations ?

choccytime · 23/05/2024 20:19

Its not the be all and end all to be a size 10 no matter what your height . I'm not watching Bridgerton , not a fan but I would say she's more like 16 to 18

Gingernan · 19/08/2024 00:45

I'm not a Bridgerton fan at all, on casual observation she looks small and round faced and chunky compared to the other women, but what does it matter, she's playing a part which makes the point that conventional beauty can loose out to a real woman type with personality and passion.
Stylists do tend to make actresses etc look like dogs dinners...just too much.

Idontcareboutthestateofmyhair · 19/08/2024 02:30

She is never a size 10 (not even US)! FS, c'mon, she's beautiful but saying this shit just negates her own love for her body!
I agree don't love her clothing choices always but hey-ho, she can wear whatever the hell she likes, she's heading into her 40s soon...woman power...Kudos NC! Rocking real womens lives ❤️

Garlicfest · 19/08/2024 02:42

PotatoPudding · 22/05/2024 18:43

I am the same height as her and size 12. She’s way bigger than me. No way her hips and chest are 36 inches. Her Bridgerton dresses hid a multitude of sins. She is gorgeous but she is not a size 10.

The dresses may have ... but she was naked, too! Totally not a size ten. She does have incredible skin - all over, and plenty of it.

myladyjane · 19/08/2024 02:45

I'm a short 16/18 and I am way fatter than her. I am a bit taller I think but even so.

I would love to see her styled for a 'normal'/casual day. As many have said, regardless of her size, her shape is quite tricky to dress due to the curves. I am a similar shape although less bust and more tummy and it's a shape with few inspirations so I'd love to see some relatable outfits.

I do think she's fabulous and love that she has fun with it all.
