..does it make my arse look enormous and the dress a bit meh?

The Dress

I was thinking with fantastic necklace, a shrug, fascinator and incredible shoes.

I want to wear this to get married and party (low-key, low-key, low-key) in June.

Obviously I need a different bra (duh)

SO whaddya think?

Well really in wedding photos you only want to look cheerful, stops there being the odd shot of you looking confused, afraid, lost or shocked.

S1ur · 30/03/2008 23:39

hmm yes and I hear you though I think a chicken head is more in vogue?

OP posts:
Boco · 30/03/2008 23:41

That's a ridiculous idea.

S1ur · 30/03/2008 23:47

Sigh you are right of course. Perhaps something like this? I am a dab hand at this sort of thing.

Aitch Unfortunately no space nk nearby, and scary department store make up girls frighten me. I think I will have to pretend less is more, which it is right?

OP posts:
Boco · 30/03/2008 23:49

Or, seeing as you have such nice puppies...? I'm sure the department girls would be up for a challenge.

lennygrrr · 31/03/2008 00:24

sorry to stick to the theme, but your boobs look AMAZING in that dress.

Dress is lovely.

Shoes... grey for matchy matchy?

S1ur · 31/03/2008 00:28

lol yes perhaps need fab shoes for people to comment on when they embarrassedly look down after my boobs jump out at them!

Oddly I saw them last week and thought they were possibles, clearly great minds eh?

I am about soph's link. I do need gorge alternaitves to make up for purse inadequency.

lennygrrr · 31/03/2008 00:38

ah - you can always have some for your 10 year anniversary party! (well, that's what I tell myself...)

I do agree with the thing that you need really high heels for that length.

Desiderata · 31/03/2008 00:54

It's a beautiful dress, Slur. Very pretty, without being fastidious. I like the hemline, and the length, and I love the colour. Your arse is not fat, therefore it cannot look fat. And your tits are lovely.

It's very important to wear a dress that you feel comfortable in ... and very rare to find one, so stay with it.

Good taste, mate!

S1ur · 31/03/2008 00:59

Thank you darling. Your opinon matters (weirdly - you imaginary friend you!)

Desiderata · 31/03/2008 01:10

S1ur · 31/03/2008 01:16

dizzydixies · 31/03/2008 10:47

welcome, love a good wedding me

flowers can be done on budget too - I hired massize goldfish bowls from florist, filled them with water and floated christmas bobbles in them (dec 27th wedding lol) but have since seen it done with just one long stemmed flower wrapped round the inside or floating a few gerbias on the water - lovely and not expensive!

if kids running about an issue just delete addition of water and fill bowls/vases with bright green or apples or oranges - also looks fab!!!

jewellery - sounds obvious but monsoon has some lovely stuff in, unless you want something more expensive, have been in getting stuff for my dc as they're flowergirls at dcousins wedding in May!

TillyScoutsmum · 31/03/2008 11:26

Morning Slur - I'm back (have become strangely and worryingly obsessed with all things wedding )

This website has some good silver shoes here Quite like Gabby (2nd row at the end). Some are a bit "Come Dancing" though

and love this website for jewellery and all things sparkly

S1ur · 31/03/2008 11:29

Thanks dizzy,

Do you think that this is too fussy? would something like this be better?

Don't actually like either much tbh. But I thought maybe amethyst would be a good colour. But simple or lots of detail?

GreatAuntieWurly · 31/03/2008 11:32

I cant see the picture of your dress.

TillyScoutsmum · 31/03/2008 11:32

And for Make up here Have a trial and then come to your house to do it or will give make up lesson if you prefer to do it yourself.. I'm crap at make up as well. What the feck are you supposed to do with eye shadow ?? I always manage to look like Pat Butcher when I try

OrmIrian · 31/03/2008 11:33

I finally found a dress for the wedding. (I posted about how hard it was to find a dress that was long enough for me) I've got something now that I realy love. Black and white floral fabric, long, fitting with a sort of bandeau affair over the bust, strappy (which is something I wanted to avoid) but it has a kind of scarf thing that I can wear round my shoulders. It's quite flattering for my figure and suits my height. But my mum tells me black and white is too 'ageing' for me (Added to the fact that she keeps giving me anti-ageing creams from her various odd health catalogues I think she's trying to tell me something.) So...as a general rule, is black and white an old womans' colour scheme?

Can't show you as it's not on-line.

OrmIrian · 31/03/2008 11:33

Sorry. Please ignore that post. It was meant to be a new thread

S1ur · 31/03/2008 11:35

Hey good morning Tilly

Very good to have you back, those sites are brilliant. I love that detailed crystal necklace (don't have ears pierced but am thinking it would be a lovely gift for my mum or sis)

Those shoes are very good. Yes gabby would be perfect for lighter effect or maybe gala for similarity to louboutin..

S1ur · 31/03/2008 11:37

No neither can I. hurumph.
