I have just ordered one from Mint Velvet which I tried on and liked and then regretted not buying. I'm just not 100% sure they suit me being kind of boxy fit/short as I'm only short myself. Anyone seen any others which are nice?

Wore mine today with jeans, Broderie anglaise top and Mary Jane’s. It’s pretty thin and. It as structured as the ones I have seen.

ChilliPB · 13/04/2024 17:45

I’ve got the Dolman jacket from Free People

https://www.freepeople.com/uk/shop/dolman-quilted-knit-jacket2/

I got it on Vinted though - paid about £70 for it. It’s lovely and soft and warm, always get compliments on it.

I thought you meant something like this. I've had my eye on it

I’ve just ordered the mint velvet one! This thread was too tempting!!!

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 13/04/2024 21:50

I looked at that. But it’s too twee for me.

l want something more like the Mint Velvet one. But not at Mint Velvet prices.

MaverickBoon · 13/04/2024 22:21

Ooh this is very timely, I was in France last week and saw a girl wearing a lovely one at a market - darkish blue with sort of random wiggly-line quilting all over, collarless.but not Mandarin-style - more like a shawl collar without the shawl! It's was quite neat too - not actually cropped but no longer than waist length, and fairly thin/lightweight. It would have been perfect for me so if anyone's seen one meeting these criteria please let me know!

Rainallnight · 13/04/2024 22:34

I think I’d look like a toddler in the Passenger one

MsDastardley · 14/04/2024 08:50

I’ve ordered this https://finisterre.com/products/womens-recycled-lapwing-jacket-navy. I do like the patterned jackets, but was after something plain to put on over gym wear. I did have a discount code. Never tried this brand before. They also have a patterned cotton jacket which some of you may like £££ though

The Zara one turned up, it is actually a large not an XL. But it fits. I have to say I think it’s more wearable/practical than the Mint Velvet one…..maybe because of the colour or the fact it fastens properly? I’ve been trying them both on trying to decide which to send back. I think I’d get more wear out the Zara one so my head is telling me to send the MV one back. But the MV one just looks more special/expensive. Have a bad feeling I’m keeping both.

What size range would you say the Zara L would fit, OP?

I am teetering on that or the Joe Brown's one, but I fear both may not fit me really and they're neither of them free delivery/returns.

MissAtomicBomb1 · 15/04/2024 12:01

I've just received the Joe browns one & can confirm it's beautiful.
However, it is fitted not oversized like done if the others, cropped & slightly nipped in at the waist. I ordered a 14 as that's my usual size. I have an ample bosom & it's definitely snug across the chest so size up if in doubt!

I love the JB, but I reckon it's not going to be flattering on my shape (and probably not entirely as 'slouchy and comfy' as I want this thing to be, while looking like I've made an effort LOL).

Have ordered the Zara, see what comes of it.

The Zara one in large fits a size 16 comfortably.

Gar - they ran out of M sized Zara jackets, the ecru/ ikat one, so I ordered L and it is way too wide in the body. I am gutted as they seem to have run out of them completely now. The fabric is lovely and its really well made. I wasn't sure the colour would suit me but it seems to work. I am tempted to take it in if M isn't coming back in stock. If not, look out for a L becoming available again. I blame this thread for increasing sales and running out of stock.

They have medium in stock right now @ilovesushi https://www.zara.com/uk/en/printed-quilted-jacket-p02648942.html. This one?

@CormorantStrikesBack Yes! But now there is only small. I wonder if small will be okay. It does come up MASSIVE!

ilovesushi · 16/04/2024 08:31

I have ordered small. Interesting that some came back in stock overnight.

I bet if the sizes are a bit off there will be a steady stream of returns.

Black and white Zara arrived here this morning - love it.

PepsiMaxLime · 16/04/2024 14:20

@ilovesushi Zara seem to have a system that updates their returns very quickly, when PP first posted the Zara one, there was no sizes left at all. A few hours later and there were a few of every size, so definitely worth keeping a regular eye on the medium.

ThePoshUns · 16/04/2024 19:52

The Per Una one arrived today.
Will be sending back.
The fit on the body was ok and I liked the material and buttons, but the sleeves were too long and too wide. Really flappy didn't look they were on the right jacket.

PepsiMaxLime · 16/04/2024 21:12

That’s a shame @ThePoshUns do you have your eye on any others? I might try one of the Amazon Free People dupes if the Zara one is no good.

ThePoshUns · 16/04/2024 21:14

I really wanted the River Island one. I can't see it coming back in stock. The Zara one is nice if a medium comes up I might try it.

Pooky001 · 16/04/2024 21:24

The RI one is available on Next in some sizes (weirdly listed as a house coat). I actually returned mine as whilst it was beautiful and good quality (and cotton) it just didn’t suit me. I wanted to love it but it just wasn’t ‘me’.
