OK so I don't need it, but I want it oh so much.

I love everything about it (fabric, colour, print, length), including the cowl neck, which reminds me of my Monsoon prom dress, brought many, many moons ago.

Currently wondering if I could dress it down enough to get away with wearing it to work. 😶

Do you like it
Can you afford it?
Will you wear it?

EllaPaella · 13/11/2023 19:36

I think if you really love it and will spend considerable time thinking about it if you don't get it then you should have it! At least order and try it on.

ShirleyPhallus · 13/11/2023 19:37

It’s a weird cut cos it looks quite straight up and down on the model, whereas on the pic not being worn it looks a nice shape

It’s not to my taste personally BUT would be a lovely festive number that you would wear year after year to winter parties. I don’t think £75 is particularly expensive for a dress these days either. Go for it then return it if you don’t love it?

Pinkpinkplonk · 13/11/2023 19:37

Life’s too short…… if you can afford it, go for it.
If it’s not wonderful when it arrives. Send it back!

Doggymummar · 13/11/2023 19:37

Put a polo neck under it and wear it for work

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2023 19:38

It is lovely.
It would look awful on me, but even I considered ordering it!
I haven't anywhere nice to wear it though

Jk987 · 13/11/2023 19:38

I no wasn't hopeful when I saw it was from Joe Browns but it's lovely and figure hugging.
If there's nothing similar on Vinted (?), I'd go for it.

zozueme · 13/11/2023 19:38

I think it could easily be dressed up or down and yes, worn for work. If you can easily afford it, and think it would suit you and your style, go for it!

NoWeaponsOnTheTable · 13/11/2023 19:39

You love it.
Life is short, buy the dress!

HeavenCANTwait · 13/11/2023 19:39

With sleeves it would be great

Madness to have a slip dress in winter

sarahh96 · 13/11/2023 19:41

Buy it! The more you wear it the cheaper it will get. I had the same problem with a dress I liked in the summer. It was vastly overpriced really but I love it and wear it to death. You'll feel fab in it

neilyoungismyhero · 13/11/2023 19:42

It's lovely but can't see it for work at all.

TheGreatestAtuin · 13/11/2023 19:43

Ooh, that's a good call.

I might order it. Can't hurt can it?

I can afford it, but probably better/more sensible things I could spend my money on... however it is speaking to me. Loudly.

I'm not bothered about the lack of sleeves, I don't feel the cold!

Screamingabdabz · 13/11/2023 19:43

It needed sleeves (sigh).

Why do designers do this? You find a great dress with lovely fabric and a nice flattering shape and yet they’re completely ruined by either unflattering high necks, no sleeves or the back is completely missing. It’s winter. It’s cold. We wear bras. Our arms do not look like Michelle Obama‘s… 😫

It might be a bit extra for work. But at (almost) 40 I'm starting to come to the conclusion that life is much to short to give a shit.

I'm with you on the high necks. 😖

As my friend’s dad used to say - just think how much you’ll save, if you don’t buy the shoes to match.

Buy it and enjoy it, @TheGreatestAtuin! All Pratchett fans deserve the best.

HappierTimesAhead · 13/11/2023 19:46

You could also wear a cropped black jumper, tights and boots with it for work

Another vote for buy and wear with cropped jumper!

Could look very allsaints!

BarelyCoping123 · 13/11/2023 19:57

Cardi or blazer and you're good to go for work.

Mavissdaviss · 13/11/2023 20:01

i don’t think it would be great for work. It’s more of a dinner in posh restaurant dress.

Pozz · 13/11/2023 20:04

Buy it, buy it, buy it!! 👍😄

Rina66 · 13/11/2023 20:11

Buy it! There must be a discount code for Joe Browns...
Wear it with a chunky jumper over and flat boots for a more casual look.
With velvet block heels for parties. Leather jacket and sock boots for the lunch out.

What's wrong with Joe Brown's?? I love it.
