OK so I don't need it, but I want it oh so much.

I love everything about it (fabric, colour, print, length), including the cowl neck, which reminds me of my Monsoon prom dress, brought many, many moons ago.

Currently wondering if I could dress it down enough to get away with wearing it to work. 😶

I thought it was going to cost £100s at least or a grand plus! And be dry clean only do you barely wear it. It’s only £75! Machine washable! If you love it you’ll get plenty of wear out of it. Your unit cost per wear will be really low. Buy it!

Predictably I am between sizes. I think a 12 will just about fit... and the 14 will be too big. Sigh. I am probably going to need to order two sizes.

Anyone who has ordered from Joe Brown's before care to offer how you find the sizing please?

I have only one dress and I would say it was true to size.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/11/2023 20:10

It looks like the sort of dress which if it fits you well (which may depend on your norkage) then it'll be very wearable and adaptable.

It isn’t summer anymore. It’s a summery print

It's summer somewhere.

Buy it OP, who gives a toss if it's a "summer print" or doesn't have sleeves or anything else. You love it, buy it, wear it, look amazing.

Growlybear83 · 14/11/2023 20:16

I like the fabric and you obviously do too if you're thinking of buying it. You can never have too many dresses so you should buy it.

forgivingfiggy · 14/11/2023 20:22

I love it. I have a wish list a mile long or I'd be tempted myself

Mavissdaviss · 13/11/2023 20:01

i don’t think it would be great for work. It’s more of a dinner in posh restaurant dress.

I don't think that it would be posh. The material looks very cheap to me?

Guavafish1 · 14/11/2023 20:27

life is too short. Enjoy every moment

Aria999 · 14/11/2023 20:37

It looks very hard to find an occasion for.

It's basically a velvet sundress right? Too warm to actually be a sundress and too velvet for day wear. I would hesitate to wear velvet for work (though I suppose you could if you wanted to).

Might work for going out in the evening but again you have the too warm or too cold problem.

TheGreatestAtuin · 14/11/2023 21:28

It appears that I've found a marmite dress! 😆

Love "norkage" that really made me chuckle.

Minimal in my case! 😬

Buy it, I still regret not buying something I loved that much.

wited · 14/11/2023 21:46

Wait until Black Friday. They'll have 25% off if it's anything like usual years.

Pinkpinkpink15 · 14/11/2023 21:55

Viviennemary · 14/11/2023 08:45

It's ok but if you love it buy it. I don't think it's suitable to wear to work.

@Viviennemary

you don't know what she does or where she works!!

rookiemere · 14/11/2023 21:57

Yes I suspect it will be discounted in Black Friday and then further reductions soon after. It's not a Christmas night out dress, nor is it a day dress, in fact I’m struggling to see how it could be used at all, but you like it OP and that's the important thing.

What's the Joe Brown return's policy? Could you buy it now and then return and re buy if it gets reduced ?

Changednayme · 15/11/2023 00:03

I don’t think you can wear it anywhere. It’s cold now.

Sarahbumdaa · 15/11/2023 00:10

I have just ordered this dress from freeman's. If you haven't shopped with freeman's before and you open an account. You get a discount. Its the same price as on Joe browns website.

SwedishEdith · 15/11/2023 00:16

The reviews are mixed. You must order and report back. The pattern/colours/fabric seem to clash with the style for me.

SomersetDreams · 15/11/2023 04:59

It nice but expensie shop around and you can find similar at bargain. Or charity shops have good quality dresses now, honestly you find stuff so cheap and have a day out shopping

TeaGinandFags · 15/11/2023 05:12

OP, I'm ordering you to buy it!

It's lovely and will carry you through the festive season, then summer. The cost per wearing will be negligible.

Think of the savings 😇

TheGreatestAtuin · 15/11/2023 07:23

Ooh thank you. I'll have a look!

Gosh, Freeman's takes me back - my mum used to have a catalogue.

I am not havering on the dress now, just where to buy, when, and what size. 😂

Bambooshoot · 15/11/2023 10:46

Joe Browns are often very generous on sizing I’ve found.

rookiemere · 15/11/2023 10:57

I've checked and Joe Browns do free returns. You could try both sizes, I reckon you might want room for a thin top underneath.

Lorrymum · 15/11/2023 13:41

Its beautiful, buy it!
I love Joe Brown's clothes but they make them far too long for me.
