In search of the perfect knickers

Is there such a thing?

I’m not the right shape for knickers it would seem. I’m a size 12ish but with a small waist and big bum and thighs (28 inch waist vs 41 inch hip). However I also currently have a bit of a tummy due to a combination of gynae issues and comfort eating. As it stands, all but the biggest of big cotton m&s knickers are swallowed by my bum and then end up all scrunched up in the gusset region and I hate it.

I would like the following:
High waist - to bellybutton or just below. At least high enough not to irritate my c section scar.
Non scratchy seams that don’t cause too much VPL
Some compression/support to the tummy
A wide enough gusset that it doesn’t end up like vulva floss
Decent bum coverage - anything high legged or Brazilian style just becomes a thong on me.

I feel like I’m not asking for a miracle but nothing works!

These knickers. Omg they are supremely comfortable. I have similar body shape to you and I think these knickers are the holy grail.

As a fellow small waisted/large arsed person, I have worn sloggi knickers for ages but a few weeks ago I got my first pair of Thunderpants and they are my new favourites!

Sloggi are my go-to for everyday knickers. Wash and wear brilliantly. They do some high-waisted thicker cotton ones that do hold me in slightly and have a velvet gusset. Fraid I couldn't see them looking through quickly.

I find Sloggi no good for chunkier thighs, the leg holes are really small. I am the same size as you op, with all the same issues, and I have tried Sloggis in different sizes to no avail, I also find the Wirapa slightly snug at the leg holes. Chinese brands in general have smaller leg holes as Chinese women tend to have smaller bottoms and thighs than British women.
So I am no help as I am also searching for this Holy Grail of pants.

Another vote for Wirarpa. They are so FIRM. Not great for VPL but are my everyday comfy jeans pants.
I have a load of Sloggi Romance ones for work. They last great and are well worth the £16 or so per pair. They are finer and very stretchy with a pretty and strong lace band.

I like Tokyo laundry pants, they’re kind of a silky material and I find them really comfortable

I like Tu pants from Sainsbury's the best. I size up but they don't disappear and they have a nice wide gusset. I used to be an M&S fan but they've changed a lot over the years.

These are ridiculously comfortable, I wear them during the day too.

Contrary to PP, I’ve had a really good experience with Stripe & Stare and wear them most of the time. They really go up my bum, which I find most knickers do. I guess it depends on your shape. I also have a bigger bum and small waist. But they mihht be too low cut for what you’re looking for

I like Boody ones they are bamboo, they do not go up your bum and wash and tumble well full-brief

I’ve been buying Sloggi for years; can’t beat them.

Another vote for Wirapa from Amazon. My daughter loves hers too after buying so many pairs from usual high street stores

Innersy, from Amazon, comfiest underwear I’ve ever owned. They don’t ride up, or chafe. I am very particular about the feel/texture of things against my skin and these have solved the search for the perfect pair of pants!

https://www.thunderpants.co.uk/ these are the only pants I wear, the high waist versions. They are not cheap, definitely not sexy, but it's like you aren't wearing any pants whilst being completely supported in every way. I'm in NZ so buy them there but it looks like they operate in the UK too

I a, the same shape and size as you, also have the same issues with knickers. So far the best knickers I have found are from Sainsburys, their full briefs and I also wear boxer shorts from step one, I think they do knickers too but haven’t tried them.

Stripe and Stare are brilliant. I hesitated because of the price but will never buy anything else again. Incredibly soft, can’t feel any elastic, wash well.

I was coming on to say how much I love stripe and stare and I think they have a high waisted one now too…
they are so lovely and soft, even the thong style is comfy!
