Thanks @Jackydaytona. What does it resemble? I'm always illogically drawn to perfume in purple bottles thinking that they will smell like my beloved discontinued EL Sensuous Noir - they never do!

It's quite woody and deep
Unlike her other perfumes

@Jackydaytona I, too, am struggling with perfume choice and the weather is not helping. I'm grateful it's not hot hot hot, but it rained all weekend and all day today. It's constant! It's still raining now, actually. I'm stuck in a perfume rut and am absolutely uninspired. Nothing smells completely right anymore! I know I should order some samples, but then I'm paralysed by choice, and I don't want to feel as though I'm wasting money. Grrr. Something will give... Eventually.

SOTN is Ambre Orient. Now, this one I never tire of. Powdery, woody heaven.

Sotd is 4160tuesdays fluffy lemon top, but it doesn't feel quite right today...
I've ordered the other clouds versions in the summer sale 🤣🤣 so now I'll have them all except the original (which was crazy £££)

@Jackydaytona Hope you like it, I think you will. It has a lovely thyme-y opening, and then the warm ambery powdery base comes through, and just lasts and lasts. It matures a bit in the bottle over time, too.

No SOTD as yet. I'm undecided.

I’m trying a sample of Laboratorio Olfattivo Arancia Rossa today. I’d say it’s a pretty realistic blood orange scent, really lovely and lasting well for a citrus. It’s by Jean Claude Ellena and I tend to like his perfumes.

I love reading these threads although I do t know a lot about fragrance, the descriptions are so vivid. When I was a teen I had a woods of windsor perfume, Forget me Not, I still have the bottle and have a sniff now and again. It's a very clean, soapy sharp scent, appreciate it is long discontinued but I'd love to find a modern perfume which has a similar feel. I'm wondering if jasmine features? The only thing that comes vaguely close is JLo Glow I think but it's not quite the same, just that sharp soapy scent.

If you go on www.fragrantica.com and type in your perfume it should give suggestions as to smell a likes

@RoseHarper I have the Woods of Windsor forget me not soap! I love it, but could never use it up, I just sniff the bar occasionally. It reminds me of my grandmother. You're right, it's a super duper clean old fashioned soapy scent, it makes me happy and light and carefree every time I sniff it. Sadly, I've not found anything that smells similar, despite looking, so I am very interested in any replies you get!

I managed to get my hands on an Escentric Molecules sample set while I was in London, so I'm trying a couple of them today. I'm liking No. 1 over No. 2 so far.

Thanks festively sent and JackyDaytona, I'll have a look at the website. It's such a nostalgic smell for me, I check ebay to see if any becomes available. My bottle must be around 35 years old, but it still smells the same...

My pp ambre orient arrived, but mum was here and rather took a shine to it, so it's gone to live with her 😃

SOTD was Violet Ida, for a shopping trip to the next town, which has an actual, real-life market, Cockney traders and everything, and fruit and veg stalls where you still buy things by the bowl. Enjoyed myself thoroughly, but I think the crowds were a bit much, and the bus completely overcrowded, as I came home with a thumping migraine.

SOTN is Miss Dior Originale.
