Muslim convert, English wedding. Dress needed.

I'm a Muslim convert and my sister is getting married.

I dont want to stand out and wear what I would normally wear to a Muslim wedding but I'm looking for something that would cover me and still be wedding appropriate.

My sisters theme is dusty pink and I'm looking for something long sleeved and flowy.

Please help

There are a couple of long sleeve dresses in Joe Browns at the moment. Might these fit the bill?

Depends. What's your body type? Are you busty, tall, short, broad shoulders? What sort of style in general do you like? Do you wear a hair covering?

The Asos dresses are really pretty, thank you for showing me. I didn't know they did dresses like that!

Where do you live OP? If in London, there are lots of shops you can go to and I can give you tips.

I was about to suggest ASOS too. they do amazing dresses now.

I'm a size 10, 5ft 7, shoulders and hips wide, narrow waist and not busty. Like a flat chested hour glass.

Most shalwar-kameez I've seen have been totally wedding guest appropriate OP. You could choose the least gaudy one you can find and still be in flowy elegance?

Fonthill Road in Finsbury Park is great for dress shopping. It’s mainly evening / prom dresses but they have a huge range and you will definitely find some that are modest.

Alternatively, Edgware Road between Church Street and Maida Avenue has a fair few shops, including in a group of shops called Dubai Mall. However, the majority of dresses are traditional, so you might have less success, but worth a short.

Equally, those ASOS ones are pretty that perhaps you can easily find more online!

Sister, you could always try Turkish online retailers. I use Modanisa, Sefamerve and Neva Style.

Just look for maxi dresses and consider a jacket or shrug.

Also don't feel like you can't wear a hijab/turban and also wedding hat or fascinator! A friend of mine wore the most amazing hat to a friends' wedding with a chiffon hijab underneath.
