fab
tis mildly vanilla-y, not lavender, though. Don't know who writes their blurbs

noxmasname · 12/02/2008 14:09

can't link cos I'm at work but Clarins Hand and Nail cream is the best ever handcream!

Doesnt leave that greasy film that a lot do. Smells lovely and its about 13quid, although it lasts ages.

Sunshinemummy · 12/02/2008 14:10

Atrixo.

Slouchy · 12/02/2008 14:12

Body shop hemp stuff.

About £8. Its the bizz. Quite greasy so needs lots of rubbing in. Smells ok - vaguely medicinal/tea tree but I prefer this to sickly sweet anyway.

Will look for a link

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour one is fab in winter when hands are horrible and scaly, smells a bit like the 8 hour cream (but not as strong). Lasts for ages as you don't need much of it. It's £18.

boots have it

hoxtonchick · 12/02/2008 14:21

yep, clarins rules. here.

i also like burt's bees one, though it's a bit greasy so mostly i use it before bed. here.

BirdyArms · 12/02/2008 14:38

Another vote for Clarins - pleasant smell, absorbs quickly. I am also a fan of Waitrose bottom butter for an ad hoc moisturising at the changing table.

meglet · 12/02/2008 14:42

ooh, Clarins is fab, but am too poor to buy it these days .

Porpoise · 12/02/2008 14:45

This is the best posh choice for REALLY dry hands (I'm talking sandpapery here).
Brilliant stuff.
£10, I think

PestoMonster · 12/02/2008 14:45

I like
the Body Shop's Almond Hand & Nail Cream

It's £8, smells lovely and not too greasy.

L'Occitaine do a good heavy duty shea butter hand cream that is good to keep beside the sink for after-washing-up duty in the winter. £17 for a big tube that lasts for ever. here

Clarins also fantastic but lighter

expatinscotland · 12/02/2008 15:38

I second the Body Shop Hemp stuff.

An MNer recommended it years ago and I've been using it ever since.

Even DH uses it.

In my handbag it's Vaseline Hand and Nail - the pink stuff.

MrsMattie · 12/02/2008 15:39

love this despite the comedy name and silly price

MrsMattie · 12/02/2008 15:39

It;s £15.50 for a decent sized tube, by the way

JackieNo · 12/02/2008 15:41

I would definitely say the Body Shop Hemp stuff too, with the L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream a close second.

iamdingdong · 12/02/2008 15:42

yep clarins is great and lasts for ages

I too have vaseline pink tube in bag/car

TillyScoutsmum · 12/02/2008 15:43

L'Occitane en Provence - Shea butter handcream. Smells gorgeous (buttery...obviously), absorbs really well and leaves skin v. soft. £15 per tube but lasts ages (twice a day -about 6-9 months)

MrsMattie · 12/02/2008 15:44

Body Shop Hemo stuff stinks (yuk)

MrsMattie · 12/02/2008 15:44

Hemp, even

TillyScoutsmum · 12/02/2008 15:44

sorry try again

JackieNo · 12/02/2008 15:46

I agree the Hemp stuff doesn't smell as nice as some of the others, but I don't care - it really works, and I usually suffer from split thumbs and fingers, but have hardly had one since using this.

MrsMattie · 12/02/2008 15:48

My hands aren't that dry (as in split) but they do look aged and hagged without a good hand cream The Aveda one takes about 10 yrs off my hands. Had a brand new tube confiscated at Customs a while ago (booo hooo). Forgot about the liquids in hand luggage thing.

wheelybug · 12/02/2008 15:49

I like the molton brown handcream. Has a slight scent but feels quite light and has an SPF in it.
