How many pairs of trainers do you own?

I typed out a long waffle and MN ate it
Probably just as well

Short version - how many pairs of trainers do you own? Do you wear them with anything that's a bit smarter, eg relaxed jacket?

If you wear animal print - I have one jacket and one top - do you wear trainers and if so, how do you make them work? I always wear black boots.

In fact, how do you put together trainers with any print, just pick up an accent colour? When I try to shop for trainers, I could just buy them all!

I used to be very much one for black boots but it does seem to be trainers everywhere now, work or going out. I'm about to start walking a lot more of my commuting route too so trainers all day would be easier. It seems like you'd need a pair for every outfit though - wishful thinking!

I think I have about 12-15 pairs… I’m like you and could buy them all. I’ve really had to cut down since having DC but have already bought 2 pairs this year.

One, my DS was throwing them out but they were too good to go. I walk the dog in them.

I have one white, one black, one gold slip ons and one for the gym. I wear the gold slip ons if I wear animal print, or the white ones. Black ones with black or grey wide leg trousers.

Excluding sports and gardening ones, three. Some olive green adidas, cream and maroon Vejas and some ancient pale blue golden goose which I barely wear as they grate my heels. But honestly this winter it’s been all about my Uggs ultra minis. God they are amazing. Didn’t know I could love shoes so much and don’t even care about cold ankles

About 20?
Road shoes, race shoes, trail shoes, fell shoes, marathon training shoes.

And then two pairs of "not running" everyday trainers.

One white
One black
One blue
One dusty pink
One khaki
Trainers are my favourite footwear and go well with jeans, shorts or smarter trousers.

I love trainers; I’ve got currently about 15 pairs. I don’t really wear animal print except one dress but it’s a summer one and I wear it with sandals.

I have some pairs I wear with blazers. Some with gym wear etc.
my aces go nice with mom jeans & a blazer. 375s and race runners I tend to wear with gym stuff or leggings & hoodie on a causal day. They also both go with straight leg leather trousers and a top / jumper tucked in.

I have specific gym trainers that I don’t wear any other time.

I only really wear dresses in the summer so tend to wear them with sandals. I love sandals more than trainers so have more of them but tend to only wear a few of them regularly as I have favourites.

Your golden goose would sell fur £200+ if you aren't wearing them, I have a 5 year old pair and was shocked at 2nd hand prices.

About 22 if I count everything from canvas lace ups to running shoes. I wear them most days apart from the coldest time of year when I'm wearing boots.

Usually I have two pairs - one in dark and one in brighter colours. On top of that I have ~4-5 pairs that I use for different sports.

For casual everyday I wear Nike Air Max, as they’re comfy and sturdy. I have five pairs in various styles and colours (all black, black and white, black and bronze, baby pink and white, light grey and white). I’m going to get some colourful ones for summer, or maybe Jordans .

Battered pink New Balance for the gym!

I don’t ‘do’ white trainers with dresses. It’s not a look I like.

Three, a pair of black sketchers for work (long shifts on my feet), a pair of classic black vans and a pair of white converse

I'm really not a trainers person. Boots if it's cold/muddy, shoes or sandals if it's warmer

About 18/20 I wear trainers pretty much every day

I've got some smart black & gold ones from Moda in Pele (sp) or grey Mallets for going out, cream Adidas platforms for smart/casual, and a 2 similar pairs in white and khaki from Office for similar. Several Nike Air Max for with leggings, Converse for summer, some black snakeskin wedge Converse boots for casual winter dresses

I love trainers, my sister mocks me but she's now heading the same way!

Far too many. Over 70 pairs varying from non branded to branded. Taken a lot of years to build up including limited editions. Varying colours, some same style in different colours.

Did have more but sold some to raise some quick cash. The bonus of having so many and I look after them the really old ones are still in good condition.

Three. All non branded from Amazon. Lightweight. I use them out and about and if going to be walking a fair bit, but they are not my main footwear.

Oh this makes me feel better, I have four pairs of trainers and three pairs of black boots
Khaki is a good shout in general
So any thoughts on what works with a trad animal print and a blue animal print?

I was in a shoe shop and got chatting to the young lady serving me, who said "my mum wears a lot of animal print and the answer is, plain black". Is it? I don't know why solid black trainers just don't seem right.

I'm clearly old because a whole day in smart flat boots seems too much, I'd rather wear trainers.

5 pairs of high tops
1 park for walking the dog
1 'trendier' pair
1 pair of leather converse

I would wear the majority with yoga pants, casually.

But a few of the high tops and the leather converse could be worn smart/casually, with a midi dress/skirt
