How many pairs of trainers do you own?

I typed out a long waffle and MN ate it
Probably just as well

Short version - how many pairs of trainers do you own? Do you wear them with anything that's a bit smarter, eg relaxed jacket?

If you wear animal print - I have one jacket and one top - do you wear trainers and if so, how do you make them work? I always wear black boots.

In fact, how do you put together trainers with any print, just pick up an accent colour? When I try to shop for trainers, I could just buy them all!

I used to be very much one for black boots but it does seem to be trainers everywhere now, work or going out. I'm about to start walking a lot more of my commuting route too so trainers all day would be easier. It seems like you'd need a pair for every outfit though - wishful thinking!

One pair for the gym.

I don't like the look or feel of trainers. Even after I take them off I still have the sensation of them for ages. Too enclosing and foamy.

I live in boots.

I don't own any Converse, I perceive them as having no arch support?

thanks for all the ideas. I am going to have a lovely evening looking at trainers. Black with rose gold trim sounds <chefs kiss>

I was going to say 12-15 pairs but a pp reminded me of my converse that I haven’t worn in ages so probably closer to 20 pairs.

I love wearing the same trainers for ages because they just get so comfortable when worn in a bit. I have however just ordered a pair of new trainers about half an hour ago that I convinced myself I didn't need but decided I really did. I have about 10 pairs but only wear about 3. Probably have more stashed away that are forgotten about

I have 5, but only wear 3.

I’ve decided I’m going to build up a small collection so that I have trainers that go with everything.

Latest purchase was a pair of white/blue 327s (yes, I know they’re everywhere, but they’re so so so comfortable), next will be some black Gazelles, I think.

3 pairs of Vans (2 black, 1 red)
2 pairs of Nike Dunks (one white and blue, one multi coloured)
1 pair of black Nike for work
1 pair of cream Reebok classics
1 pair of black suede Puma

So 8 pairs altogether.

Thank you to whoever invented trainers!

Over 60 pairs, I'm a trainer addict.

I do CrossFit 6 days a week and 30+ pairs are CrossFit shoes, mostly NoBull or Nike Metcons. 4-6 pairs each of ON, Salomon, Brooks and La Sportiva running/trail running/hiking/dog walking trainers.
For casual wear I have AF1s, Dunks, various New Balance, Internationalists, Gazelles, Vejas, Converse and Stan Smiths in various colours. I don't wear animal print but usually match an accent colour with whatever I'm wearing.

i love trainers i don't really wear anything else

i have 1 black adidas, all black converses, black and white chunky converse, beige new balance, black and white nike zooms, white air forces, panda nike dunks, yellow black and white high top nike dunks, pink and white pumas, i used to have a few more but sold them as after pregnancy my feet couldn't get in them again😭 and a few boots and sandals and crocs(which are my fav i would highly recommend!). Trainers are my go to, i want more but can't justify it on maternity leave so when i return to work in a few months that's going to be a present from me to me 😂.

With dresses i usually just wear high top converses and with anything else i normally put the outfit together then decide which trainers i think will go best with them. If i can't find trainers to go with the outfit i'll either change the outfit or go with another shoe.

Two. One for exercising, probably now covered in dust, and a pair of Allbirds, if they count as trainers.

1, but I'm not a trainer person. I own about 20 pairs of boots and about 60 pairs of heels! I'm about to buy my second pair of trainers shortly, although they're very similar to the ones I already own

About 7

Red, White, white n cream, silver, black and white, dark red

And 2 or 3 for the gym

A bit more than 7 then

I wear them with almost everything, just pick up an accent colour as you say (or a contrast colour)

I’m a runner. I, currently, have 3 pairs of running trainers and one pair of trainers to walk the dogs. Once my running trainers no longer have the “spring” they are relegated to dog walking shoes.

I don’t wear trainers other than running or walking the dogs

I bought some £8 plain white Primark trainers a couple of months ago in case I need them to go with summer outfits not very comfy though - before that I bought expensive Nike trainers because my feet were hurting in my boots shopping in London.

And my favourite gazelles were another random impulse buy because I wore a left and right foot from different pairs of nearly identical black trainers with white soles Grin one time Blush

Oh dear. Quite a lot, but in my defence some are very old.
Royal blue Nike, about 12 years old
Fitflop trainers in white, black, ( from last year) pink and stone ( from about 4 years ago) and silver ones about 6 years old.
Black Hurache about 7 years old
white Puma - 4 or 5 years old
Red and white suede New Balance - new this season
Pink New Balance - bought last autumn
Currently coveting Adidas gazelles in black suede but don't think I can justify them.
I also have black DM boots and black Birkenstock chelsea boots, I think comfy feet are vital!

I miss my first pair of trainers, white LA Gear hi-tops, bought in LA in the 80's! Before that it it was black or white plimsolls!
